The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 419: The onslaught- II
The guards were not kind, especially with the metal of the armour, digging into my skin.
There were only four soldiers and I could take only two with the swordsmanship I had, but not four and since Catherine was here, I had to make sure that she would be able to run away. So I would be fighting against four.
My fear intensified when I saw another set of guards, waiting for us at the beginning of the dungeons. They had more people. Some soldiers must have chosen to go with the royal family because of the loyalty they had.
Dear God.
They have to have more.
"We have taken care of the floors above. The only set of soldiers remaining is with the Queen on the floor, where she resides."
The family floor.
Estelle was there, hiding behind the only side of guards that were available. The entire army has been sent away. She practically had nothing at her disposal. It was only the Queensguard that she had.
Planting the souls of my feet into the ground to resist did not work well. One point from the soldier and I was on my feet, being dragged by him.
Catherine was not going to receive a chance to run away if this continued.
She gasped behind me loudly, and I turned to look at her. Her eyes were staring at something on the floor, and I followed them.
I gaped at the horror.
The bodies of two servants, severe and cut open, were on the floor in front of us. Their eyes remained open as if they did not even get a chance to blink before they were killed.
They killed ...
It only took a second to realize what they had done. They had hoarded Estelle and her Queensgaurd to her quarters like sheep.
She had been terrified into submission and into escaping. By Killing everyone in the palace, they had made sure that the wood would not get out.
Maybe, a few of the servants had escaped successfully. The word had to spread but even if it did, who was coming to protect any of us? There was no one available.
Every hope and idea I had was coming to an unfortunate end. The tunnel would not work, given that the men were going to overpower us, and we had no one to fight for us and give us time. It was a situation where we were going to lose everywhere.
Melenmore was going to lose in the hands of an evil queen who had no morals in regards to anyone.
Resistance from me did not work, the soldier was pulling through very easily and it reminded me of that unfaithful night. The one I always refused to remember. This was very close to how it had been.
One powerful man, dressed in armour..
I cursed my humanity at this point. Marilyn would have been far stronger. It took a lot of manpower to hold her down when she had first attacked me. She could have easily fought off these people and won.
The stairs came into the view, and he dragged me up them with almost no effort.
Three men charged in front of us, all of them ready to attack. Another servant, scared out of her mind, came in front of us down the stairs before her eyes widened when she realized he was standing in front of her. She turned around, ready to run backup when this word of the closest soldier pierced her back. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The soldier pulled it back before going ahead with a clean swipe of her throat, cutting her head off from her body.
All of it happened in front of me.
All of it happened in front of.. someone vomited behind me, and I knew it was my sister. Pulling away from the soldier, I attempted to go towards her only to be pulled back with force that had me go towards the ground, he did not pulled me back. His grip only tightened further because of what I had done.
"Let go!" I grunted, twisting my hand to get away from him.
The soldier halted on the stairs, and twisted my arm behind her back, making me scream. "Do not fuck with me woman, I promise you if you had not been of any use, I would have shown you exactly what I can do to you right away."
The words hit exactly where he had intended to.
"We do not have time for this," Christopher hissed, "move, at once!"
He charged forward, ready to slay anyone in his path, but thankfully, there was no one on this side of the stair. Seemingly enough, the servants had decided to avoid this side of the palace. At least there would be no killing in front of my sister.
I could only imagine how many people they had already killed.
"Whatever you have planned Christopher, this is not going to work. Go back and hide before you all are killed!" I yelled at his back but the man did not turn around. All I received was another sharp poll from the soldier who was dragging me.
They were going to use me and Catherine against Estelle. The full of guards would have to protect herself but not going to last very long.
The only hope I had at the moment was that they were a good number to protect three people.
The floor where I shared a room with my family came up. The direction we were going, I knew we were going to the Queens quarters. The one my mother occupied and now my sister did. They were big enough to be occupy all the Queensguard but somehow I doubted that they were going to be enough.
Other soldiers that were under Christopher’s command, joined us doubling the amount of people that they were before. I had a feeling that more were coming.
Christopher stopped at a distance from the Queen’s quarters. He nodded at two men that were looking at him from the front.
I closed my eyes, allowing that used to fall down freely. They were breaking the doors. The onslaught was beginning.
