The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 378: The Aftermath- III
Memory after a memory, some I remembered, some I did not.
They belong to a time where everything seemed to be perfect. My parents still loved each other, ruled over a kingdom together, my sisters and I were given the attention we deserved.
Most of the memories were of those times, and I enjoyed them the most. They gave me joy, they gave me hope of a time that I might also go through them.
I wanted to go through them because they made me happy. It was wonderful, wonderous though on how I had seemed to forget almost all of them. They had been forgotten with time yet were coming back to me now.
There were, however, some of the memories that I did not understand. In fact, none of the people in those memories for people, I actually recognised or had ever seen in my life before. They were complete strangers and somehow it felt like they were not my memories.
My memories had everyone gravitate towards me, addressing me as if I was standing in the room, but these memories made it seem like I was just a person on the wall, watching every thing happened in front of me.
I did not know how that happened, or if that was even possible to begin with.
Blinking my eyes, I find myself in another situation, or memory I should say.
"Mumma," a boy ran towards a woman who had been talking to someone else. She turned around the moment the boy met with her knees and hugged them. "Hungry.."
"Are you my sweet boy?" She smiled softly. "What would you like to have? I have spicy meat with me."
She received a very eager and enthusiastic nod from her child. Taking him by his hand, she walked to the tree that had a lot of wooden boxes with clothes wrapped around it.
She unwrapped the cloth around one of the boxes and opened it. The boy obediently sat next to her and held out his hand. She told him to wash it silently, with her eyes and a flick of her finger. He went towards the clay pot, pulled out some water before washing his hands, and then coming back to his mother. Then, he held his hand out again.
Placing three on his hand, first, she waited until he finished them before placing two more. Seemingly enough, that was all he wanted before he drank some water, and then ran to play with his friends.
The lady, who now seemed very familiar to me, moved to the group of women who she had been standing with previously. One of them looked exactly like her.
*******
I blinked, getting used to the surroundings that were now in front of me. It was different.
Earlier I had been in the open, where the grass had been green, and the laughter of children was heard. But now I was inside a house that was dark and cold.
They were only a few candles lit in the corner of the rooms and then one in the center giving the room a dim glow.
The same woman from earlier had a glass in front of her, a silver goblet of sorts, which was very decorated.
If she was here, then I wondered where the boy was.
I was standing in the corner of the room, watching her as she watched the glass in front of her. She was here to take a drink in front of me.
She sighed, and then picked up the glass before taking a heavy gulp of the drinks. Placing the glass down, her tongue darted out, and the red coating on it, made me realize something.
Vampire.
She had been drinking blood.
The doors of our house opened and someone entered. It was the same woman who was standing previously with her and looked just like her. She took a seat in front of her.
"What is wrong with you?" She whispered furiously. "You could have gotten caught today! Brother barely got you out of it!"
They were sisters. Had to be.
The lady sighed. It was then I noticed how pale she had gotten from before.
"I am not happy, Sister. You live with your beloved and have children with him while I go and suffer. I want a glimpse of him, that is all I wanted. How is it my fault—" her face started to turn into an ugly expression, it made me take a step back in fear, but she pulled herself back just in time. "That woman, she’s pregnant again. She is the child again where as I have just one.."
"We do not go after men that are married and have a family. We stay away. We do not give in to the urgency, we will resist it." Her sister whispered angrily. "How could you even think of having a child with a man who already has another is beyond me. Must you desire one more?"
The lady teared up at the words. However, they were not sad. They were tears of anger. "If you were in my position, I know you would have killed the other woman. I am his beloved, I am made for him yet I get a glimpse of him from hiding in the forest, hiding behind the walls of the big house he lives in. You cannot put yourself in my shoes to know how I feel. One child is not enough, one peak is not enough when I want an eternity that you have."
The eyes of sister softened and she placed her hand over her sisters and then cupped her cheek. She was about to say something when a creek attracted their attention, and they looked at me, not at me... I realized, but behind me.
When both of them started to get up, open their mouths and say something, I blinked.
A blink was all it took for me to open my eyes back to the palace.
