The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 357: A small walk - I
The next time I opened my eyes, I was standing next to me with a warm and welcoming smile on her face. It was then I noticed the warmth of the sun setting.
"I fell asleep?" my voice of groggy and it took me a few seconds to get my vision straight.
"Yes, your highness, you did. When you were talking with Lady Marilyn." Irene took a step back and conversed with the other two ladies over preparing for me.
I watched them interact before Irene came over to me. Everything was ready.
The next thing I knew him I was in front of the mirror with one of the maids making my hair. Today my hair was tied up with a few strands of my hair standing out, curled to perfection.
I felt like a queen, especially with the jewelry that Irene added. My fingertips touched the necklace on my neck. It was beautiful. "Who gave this to you?"
"The king’s aunt."Irene answered. "This belonged to the mother of the king and is being passed down to you."
"I see." My eyes carefully went over every detail of the necklace. It has the famous Astria designs on it which made me think that it belongs to royalty and not Tristan’s mother who was a vampire. It felt like it belonged to Anastasia more.
"How," I gulped, taking a moment to phrase my words right, "how did this belong to his mother? It looks like it belongs to Royalty." I whispered.
Irene glanced at it. "I think King Arthur had it made for the king’s mother."
Ah, yes. That would explain everything. Since the king or third left Tristan’s mother, he would obviously give her something that was worth gifting to a queen.
The maids had left some time ago and it was only me and Irene. Once I had my shoes on, I decided that it was time to go outside.
The moment the doors were opened by Solomon, who wished me good morning with a bright smile, I came face-to-face with Tristan’s Uncle Dominique.
"Good morning." He wished with a slight bow, "your highness."
It took me a second to gather myself before I wished him back.
"Would you care to come on a walk with me?" He smiled and I could see his fangs.
"Where is Tristan? I am assuming that he is not in the palace at the moment." Otherwise, no one from his family members would be so bored. Tristan kept them away from me but somehow the moment he was away, they all came like bees attracting to Honey.
He gave me a bright smile that made his red eyes shine. " you assume correct. My nephew is not here at the moment and I thought I will take this opportunity to bond more with you. What do you say," he held his elbow out for me to take, "would you like to take a walk with me in the garden?"
At this point, did everyone know that I like to roam around in the garden like a lunatic?
Nodding, I slowly took the offered elbow and walked with him. "I hope you’re walking comfortably. Vampires tend to travel fast."
He smiled again with a small laugh. "Children or often human when they are born, unless until the end because of them, we do have to slow down."
"Do you have children?"
Dominique waited for a second before answering me with a shake of his head. "No and since you are family, I will tell you why. My wife has a weak womb. She is unable to carry children successfully, because of which I refused for any."
Dominique who refused to have children? That might be the first time I had ever heard a man say something like that.
"Why?" I asked him while being mindful of the stairs. "Should you not be concerned about carrying on your name?"
He gave him a smile that seemed proud. "The son of my sister and now the son-in-law of my other sister are going to carry my name."
"So, you choose your wife over your bloodline? Not many men are capable of doing that." I knew that my father was not. He had constantly pressure my mother for a boy, and when she was unable to give him that consistently, he turned elsewhere.
"Human men and we are quite different." He answered. "While they value pride, prestige and luxury of wealth. Over everything, we simply value Are bonded and then our family. However, the bond we have without other half remains forever remains only priority we have."
So the women belonging to them were not tortured? I said like most of the time I was being tortured, but it seemed like that is not the case for everyone. But what about Solomon’s beloved?
After a few minutes of silence, I finally saw the opening to the garden, and when we stepped onto the grass, I waited for what was it that Dominique wanted to talk to me about.
"I suppose I should get it over with as quickly as possible." He stopped and turned towards me. "Congratulations are in order to the young Queen. I cannot be more happy about the fact that it is you who is going to rule beside my Tristan."
I smiled and thanked him with blushing cheeks. "Thank you for that. However, I do believe there would be a number of people who could do the job better than I would."
"No, I do not think so." Dominique softly disagreed.
I frowned. "Why so?"
There were people who were more suited for the role in comparison to me. For example, my elder sister, what is the best queen in making that I knew were. I was yet to learn a lot and my idol was supposed to be Anastasia. Without her, I was still just a princess.
He cleared his throat loudly, like he knew that my attention was elsewhere. "You may not know this, but I met your mother once." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
I stopped walking. "What?"
He nodded. "My beloved was one of your mothers ladies in waiting. That is how I Met Queen Cynthia."
"My mother," I gulped at the thought, "was she aware.."
"Yes." He nodded.
