The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 341: A new - - V
He narrowed his red eyes slightly. "And the survival of your sister’s country depends on what her answer will be."
I knew that. I was also scared of that. "My sister is quite headstrong. Confident and fierce unlike me. I am afraid of what her answer is going to be, Tristan."
Estelle was as headstrong as my father was and that was in a very negative way. If she did not take to my letter, the way I wanted her to understand the advantages that vampires could bring us, she would decline and that would set the path of our country.
Someone had to be their influence on the session and it would not be a holiday in waiting because she would not hold any power over my sister.
It needed to be someone who either had the experience on how to run the country or someone who had a village in shape with her and could tell my sister what to do and when.
"What your sister decides would represent her future as the Queen of the country. She has to put these decisions above her, and if she fails to do so, then you know what kind of queen she would turn out to be."
I hated how right he was at that moment. I hated the fear that I had in me regarding my sister. The uncertainty I felt of what my sister would do because we had such a great distance between us in every way.
Everything that we had done had led to this moment yet it was ruined and I could not help us stop thinking about it. How much could we have had done together?
"Stop worrying about it, Genevive. You will receive a reply soon enough." Tristan tapped on the table and the dose behind me opened.
I heard the familiar footsteps of the servers that came to serve us the food. As my plates were changed, from the empty to a full one, I looked up to find a familiar face.
I did not recognise his name but I knew his face from when I had orchestrated the small coup against the king. I remember his face, but all I could stare at was the red eyes.
When the doors closed quite loudly, I flanged and looked at Tristan who was already looking at me with a knowing look. He noticed that I had caught the server who had recently been turned into a vampire.
"He.."
"Yes?"
I gulped. "He was one of the servants."
"Yes." Tristan confirmed. "and the only reason he is here is because he was strong enough to be around humans. Quite remarkable, it is."
"What does that mean?"
Trsitan pursued his lips slightly before answering. "I am sure that you remember when Marilyn attacked you. Newly turned vampires are more hungry and they do not have control over the hunger. So they are naturally, not let near humans for a long time until they can get their hunger under control. Some however, turn out to be quite strong in controlling it, and can be let out sooner."
Then Merilyn must have been entrusted to Allen. He had clearly failed.
Tristan, not so discreetly, pointed at my food, silently nudging me to eat it. I chuckled before picking up my knife and fork.
Right after I was done with my desert, I leaned back into the chair before placing my hand over my stomach. I had eaten too much.
"I don’t think I can get up." I confessed. "I feel like I have eaten too much."
"That is hardly a worry," He tsked, "I am here, and I will carry you if you want." He said. "Eat whatever you want and how much you want."
"I might put on weight and then none of my pretty dresses would fit me."
Tristan smiled, it was filled with adoration and warmth. "Then I shall find the finest silks and jewels to have new dresses made for You with them." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
I shied away. "I might not be pretty anymore."
"Nonsense." He grunted out. "You could be old and gray, but still remain the prettiest woman in my eyes."
Now it was difficult to look up. My eyes lowered themselves to the empty plate when I heard his chair scrape away and his footsteps towards me.
"Now," he kneeled on one knee in front of me, "come, I shall carry you."
Without waiting for me to protest or say anything Tristan, placed his hands behind my back and one under my knees. He picked me up and walked out of the door which had opened from him from outside.
It had been so long since I had been so close to him. Touching him without the feeling of fear coming into my mind. Slowly, I leaned my head against his chest and closed my eyes.
His heart did not beat and surprisingly, that did not bother me. I felt calm, soothed in his presence and that was all that mattered to be in that moment.
Every worry on the farthest corner in my mind and I felt peace.
I did not remember feeling like this ever before. Maybe, when my mother was alive, she took care of most of the things, but after that, there was never a moment of peace in my life.
Tristan stopped before the entrance of my room. "Would you like me to come in?"
I would. "Not today." I answered instead. I may not feel fear in his presence anymore, but that did not mean that I was ready to forget all of it.
He gently lowered me on the ground photo and once I was firmly on my feet, he let go of me. "Good night, Geneveive."
My cheeks grew hot with how he stared at me. "Good night, Tristan." I whispered.
He opened the door for me and I walked inside only to stop it closed and release a sigh.
Where ever I was heading, I had no idea what is the result was going to be, but I would admit that I liked to journey.
