The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 165: A new plan - II
Laila failed. As expected.
I should have never ask her to begin with. I somehow did have I thought that it might end up in failure.
I sighed as I stayed up. I will have to go to the dungeons myself. Laila had failed at what was given to her which meant that I have to now take it into my own hands. I found it surprising that the night had more Guards on duty than in the morning. It was almost double the amount of security at the night.
I sighed nonetheless. I have to wait till atleast midnight for anything to happen.
I waited before the security died down and patrolling started. Grabbing a latern in my hand I moved out of the room and towards the squares of the servants.
It was the same in almost every Kingdom. In the night the servants did not use to servants quarters because there was not enough light and there were several accidents. Also the servants were not needed much at the night which is why they were fine with using the hallways same as the royalty.
I carefully stepped the small stairs in the servants staircase. They were extremely dicey.
I moved to the lowest floor where the kitchen was. The kitchen was almost accessible to everywhere which man that there had to be an easy way to the dungeons. My feet did not make any sound as I stepped everyone that was sleeping in the kitchen. There was a night staff and waiting for orders if given.
I raised the lamp to my site to see better.
My heart heated loudly in my chest as I walked into the direction to where I felt the cold air coming from. From what I had felt while visiting Tristan in the dungeon was the dungeons appeared to be the most cold and damp place in the palace.
The darkness did not stop it only began to increase as the stairs came to the lowest level of the palace. I held my dress up carefully and raised the light of the latern. I stopped shortly at the first corner trying to listen if they were any guards talking to each other.
Nothing, I heard nothing.
I sighed and moved forward.
It only meant one thing. Either these people had kept no prisoners or the prisoners that were there were too weak to make any kind of engagement which is why the guards did not bother standing there.
I peered over the wall to see if there was any guard standing at duty. By now I had them to the light completely.
Nothing. They were no one who was standing at the post.
Now I moved forward in a hurry will lightning the flame higher.
I heard movement and stopped at the first corner. The hallways were endless and like a maze which is why I stopped from where I could go back.
"Lysar?" I whispered, "is that you?" I raised the light higher to see the man.
His eyes open on an instant and his face turns to me. "Genevieve?" He frowned and I nodded my head.
"It is me." I confirmed and he stepped up to the bars.
"What are you doing down here? Do you know how dangerous is for you?" He hissed as he first saw me and I scoffed.
"I am not in danger as much are you." I retorted back. "How do you find your new accommodation?" I teased him at the sight of him sitting in a dungeon. "Is it up to His highness’s preference?"
His face hardended and he clenched his jaw. " Do not mock me, Genevieve. You have no idea how it feels to be a hostage."
And I never would with what I was about to do. This might change everything but I was ready to take the chance and get away from the people I once knew but had turned out to be something else completely.
"I am going to get you out, but only on one condition."
He stared at me before he laughed. "Do you even know what you’re talking about genevieve? If you are blessed enough to stay out of prison I would recommend you to continue doing so."
I tilted my head slightly, "is anyone aware from your kingdom except those men that you got along that you are here?"
His eyes narrowed ans I continued,
"Even if anyone is done they know that you were on your journey to not. None of them are aware that you are a prisoner in Astria." I smiled, "while they would be busy getting you out of the north you might even be beheaded by the time they figure out that you are not there."
His nostrils flared. He knew that there was a possibility that no one would know whether he was alive or not or even in North to begin with. "What is your condition?" He relented and I concealed my smile.
"Before that, I want to know if th e offer for me to marry you is on the table or not." I waited with bated breath for this. After all of this depended on his answer. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"It is." He answered after sometime, "why?"
I stepped closer, "because when I leave with you I want to know that I have a secured future. If the offer is not there then I want you to provide me with a small Hut in a remote village."
He shook his head and his eyes softened at me. "That is not needed, Genevieve. I promise the offer is there, I will marry you. You should go for now, I shall wait for you when you come up the plan."
I stare at him for a few moments before stepping back and northing. I moved back the following the flame of the latern.
I stepped out in still there were no gaurds, so I was grateful. Only at the last turn Marilyn stood.
