The Princess Kidnapping System Made Me OP-Chapter 74: Getting in Gear
Chapter 74: Getting in Gear
It was afternoon when they left the post office, carrying their bags along with them.
From there, they boarded a rune-train to meet up with Daphne and Aofie, who according to his instructions, had rented a place in the Eastern district.
The reason he had picked this position was because the Eastern district was close to the East gate, which led to the back of the Skentic ruins...
The place that would be their training ground for the time being.
To find them, all they had to do was meet up with the local housing business in the area.
Daphne and Aofie had already left instructions for them there.
The house they were directed to was a well maintained old building with a high fence, and enough room beside it.
A large old tree stood by the house, towering above it and casting a shadow over the building.
The sound of rustling leaves made the area pleasant and serene, and a calm cold breeze was drifting toward them, as well as a few dried leaves that were descending from the tree.
The house was painted a cool shade of grey while the window sills were white, and at the center of the compound was a cobblestone path that split the grass, leading up to the door.
"Not bad, they actually got a good place." Freya murmured from beside him.
Wise pushed the gate open and walked in. "I’m more surprised that those two were able to work together."
Frey and Aofie had... intense personalities.
They walked up to the door, and Esme gave it a gentle knock.
Shortly after, they heard the creaking sound of the handle as Aofie pulled the door open, a towel lying on her head.
Shimmering water droplets were slowly dripping from her hair, falling on her greyish skin and rolling down before colliding with the collar of her shirt.
Her face had a slight blush, the pink colour trailing from her cheeks right up to her pointed ears.
She was wearing shorts that were almost completely swallowed by her large shirt, and when her eyes landed on them, she smiled, a little fang peeking from beneath her lips.
’Not bad...’ Wise mused.
"Took you guys long enough, we’ve cleaned the place."
Wise entered the room and couldn’t help but smile. "You guys did well..."
The interior of the room was even more beautiful than the exterior. Whoever the owner was had gone for a polished wood design, so there was an abundance of brown.
The floors, the staircase and its railings were all made of wood.
There was a lush couch sitting in front of a fireplace. Hot flames were crackling within it, giving the living room a gentle, warm glow.
And on that couch, Daphne was sheepishly staring at the fire.
Aofie followed his lingering gaze to Daphne. "She had been like that ever since she had her bath. I think she’s trying to stay awake..."
As Freya shut the door behind her, Daphne slowly turned to face them. "You’re... back... third room... hall."
Then she pointed to the table where a bag was lying. That was all she said before she turned back to face the fire, this time allowing herself to fully sleep.
Freya stretched and began ascending the stairs. "I’m going to have a bath." She said, and Esme hurried behind her as well, both girls eager to wash off the exhaustion from the journey.
"Don’t be too long, we have to visit the armory." Wise walked up to the table and picked up the sack. when he opened it, a pleasant aroma suddenly drifted into his nose.
Inside it were neatly packed containers of food, one for each of them.
Wise picked up a pack and eyed its contents, his stomach already growling
’How thoughtful...’
They needed to get to the armory to purchase equipment for training tomorrow, but Wise sat down on the couch beside Daphne and opened the pack.
’I’ll eat first, bathe and then we’ll go to the armory...’

"Should we wake them up?"
Aofie was standing beside Esme, both of them watching Wise and Daphne.
Already, they had been sleeping for more than five hours now. When they arrived, it was around three o’clock, but now they were well into the night.
Freya had even joined them at one point, now the three of them were occupying the couch—
Daphne and Freya by the sides and Wise in the middle, their heads leaning peacefully on his shoulders as they took quiet breaths.
"Maybe I should braid his hair?" Esme smiled and hurried over to the back of the couch, but the moment she moved towards Wise’s hair, his eyes shot open.
Esme quickly backed away, acting as though she was just walking by, doing what could only be described as a failed attempt at whistling.
Wise blinked as his vision came to focus on Aofie. Then he looked around, his eyebrows creased together in confusion as he tried to piece together what was going on.
Then everything came to him at once. He quickly placed Daphne’s and Freya’s heads on the armrest and got to his feet.
"How long did I sleep?"
"Five hours." Aofie said blankly.
"Damn it, we are late!"
He hurried upstairs and came back down about five minutes later. Somehow, he had showered and even changed to a new set of clothes at that time.
"Wake them, let’s go!"
As Esme began tapping Freya. Wise paused and staggered, a sudden heaviness overcame him, making it difficult to walk, and then multiple images flashed before him like broken fragments of a more potent memory.
It was brief, only for a few seconds, but he had undeniably seen it—
A white dragon, a colossal one at that, and accompanying it was a litany of screams, each one heart wrenching, speaking of untold suffering.
There were other flashes, blood, steel and fire—but they were so disorderly that he could not make sense of them.
Still, there was one thing that stood out in the madness, the white dragon.
The only problem with that was that there were no white dragons...
’What was that?’
How could he have seen a White dragon if they never existed? Was he hallucinating, or was this yet another piece of his missing—
"Wise?" Esme called out, pulling him out of his thoughts.
He turned to Esme, who was leading the two sleepy girls along with her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Oh, let’s go."
’Later, I’ll figure this out later.’

Night in Domum was even more beautiful than it was in the day. The towering buildings were lit up like the skyscrapers back on earth, albeit shorter and less imposing.
Parts of the street were lined with glowing stones to guide the carriages, and prevent pedestrians from wandering onto the roads.
The flying sentinels seemed to have doubled, screening both the skies and the roads of the city.
They wandered around for a couple of minutes before they finally arrived at their destination.
While in custody, the guards were discussing getting a new set of equipment, which was how Wise had learned the location of this place.
If he wanted to get the best relics, the finest blades or the sturdiest armor, this was the place to be.
It was a workshop and store that shipped weapons throughout the continent.
The biggest arms dealer in all of Domum.
—Serpent’s Blade Armoury.
"It’s about time!" Aofie said excitedly." Without waiting for them, she pushed the door of the armory open and hurried inside.
But not even five seconds later, she came back out, a scowl on her face.
"Let’s find another place..."
