The Prince Can Do Divination-Chapter 180 - 149: Who is Behind the Scenes, the Chaos of the Endless Pavilion, the National Preceptor’s Possession (Part 3)
These words, fit for an Immortal, boomed like Celestial Thunder, yet only Ning Tomb could hear them.
Ning Tomb scoffed and sent back a telepathic reply, ’You people only know how to boss me around. Why not go after that former Saint’s Disciple, Grand National Preceptor Xun?’
Another, gentler voice, that of an old man, advised, ’Xun Yu is a heretic of the Confucian Temple and has long been hunted by the Sub-Saint’s lineage. The Confucian Temple will see to his punishment. Compared to the few lives he has taken and his schemes from ten thousand miles away, your murderous rampage back then was far more terrifying. The Southern Country Imperial Palace and the Dragon Vein, over a thousand lives, and a century’s worth of Destiny—all were incinerated by a single swing of your sword. The incense offerings to the Three Religions all suffered for it.’
Ning Tomb held some respect for this particular member of the Taoist Sect. He was, after all, the Taoist Ancestor’s first disciple and one of the three most powerful figures in the Taoist Court. ’There were things I had to do,’ he said, his voice low. ’I can admit my mistake, but I will never regret my actions.’
From the west, a Buddhist chant echoed, followed by a voice full of pity. ’Patron Ning, a single moment of quietude can transport you beyond the Buddha-lands. Turn back, and the shore is at hand.’
Ning Tomb had no courtesy for the Buddhist Sect. ’You lot really haven’t changed,’ he snapped. ’Still as sanctimonious as ever.’
’Whatever. I’ll go back.’
Ning Tomb stretched, then turned back to look at Lu Yunqing.
Although Lu Yunqing hadn’t heard a thing, he seemed to sense the shift. "Father-in-law, are you leaving?" he asked, his reluctance clear.
Ning Tomb nodded. "Time to go. Even someone like me has rules I have to follow."
Lu Yunqing was quite understanding. "Ren Sheng said that the way of a Saint is to not overstep the boundaries. This junior understands, of course."
As a final piece of advice, Ning Tomb gave a solemn warning. "On the path ahead, show no mercy. Just forge ever forward."

Within the grand halls of the Jiangling Royal Mansion, Xun Yu sat cross-legged on a chair, his form ethereal. With his hands in a mudra, he struggled to prevent his Divine Soul from dissipating.
The Military Saint had destroyed several of his Flesh Bodies in a row, and now, he was nothing more than a wandering spirit.
His true body was still in Nan Zhou, using an Array to block all Celestial Secret, but it was impossibly far away.
All he could do was struggle to keep this splinter of his Divine Soul from collapsing. The main problem was that finding a suitable body was just too difficult.
The handsome youth, Brother Yu; the venerable Master Xun—both Flesh Bodies had been destroyed.
A Divine Soul could wander far for a short time without issue. But once its host body was destroyed, he would become a crippled Ghost Cultivator, his soul severed from his flesh.
He was a Confucian Cultivator, not a pure Qi Cultivator.
If he were a pure Qi Cultivator, he might have mastered some Divine Techniques for Refining Spirit.
It wasn’t that he hadn’t studied Refining Spirit Techniques and followed the path of a Qi Cultivator. It was just that his Cultivation had stalled at the Eleventh Realm, and breaking through to the Upper Three Grades was just too damn difficult.
If he became a wandering spirit, then even the Middle Fifth Grade trash he once crushed under his heel could kill him as easily as butchering a chicken or a dog.
If he couldn’t return to his original body, it would be a massive blow to his Dao Practice. He would lose two or three Realms of Cultivation, at least.
Now, even telepathy was difficult to use, as he lacked the Mana of a physical vessel to support it.
However, the one thing he was best at...
...was preparing a backup plan.
"Come out."
Xun Yu called out, his voice hoarse.
The unremarkable Ninth Prince, Lu Yunhuang, walked out from the Prince Mansion with a terrified expression. He approached Xun Yu, completely bewildered.
Xun Yu said coolly, "You were originally my backup plan, in case Lu Guangjing escaped my control and betrayed his master. I didn’t expect you’d have another use, but now the time has come for you to prove your worth."
"Open your Divine Sense and let me borrow your body. If you resist and I end up assimilating you, wiping out your consciousness, don’t blame me for it."
Lu Yunhuang’s face went pale at these words, but a flicker of anticipation still shone in his eyes.
’He was tired of being second-best in everything. Foundation, Cultivation, background, talent—he excelled at none of them.’
’But if he could gain the National Preceptor’s knowledge, he would surely be second to none.’
