Chapter 1486 Dawn Of The Supreme Era (1)

Noctis had been smiling when Algorth descended, however, that smile began to slowly leech away from his face when he saw the state of the castle, he whispered with sadness,

"This was not the deal I made, you did not deserve such a Fate. What have they done to you? Where is your Light, your Flame?! Who stole your pillars from you?!"

By the end, his whispers had transformed into howls of rage. Demon Lord Abruzul, who had been transfixed for a moment by Algorth's descent, shook himself from his reverie and acted.

Unlike this unknown creature here, the Demon Lord knew of this castle and the unknown mysterious shadow organization that controlled it. This castle was one of the greatest prizes sought by the Abyss or any Primordial powers, but especially by the Great Abyss.

Unlike other domains, demons were famed for the strength of their fleshy bodies, and a lot of their powers were derived from using their bodies as a foundation. Algorth had long been one of the most important treasures sought by the demons, and they had placed a ridiculous bounty for it to be found.

The ability of this castle was well known, able to provide a limitless amount of essence to those within it, so much so that there were massive restrictions in place to stop immortals from overindulging and perishing from its excesses.

Abruzul could imagine the height he could reach if he had access to this castle, becoming a Demon Overlord was not out of the question. He no longer cared about this strange immortal beside him, pushing him aside, Abruzul vanished reappearing under the descending castle, his hands opened wide to scoop it up and Noctis seeing this act grew more inflamed with rage, however, instead of lashing out, his expression went cold.

Searching for the link that had grown dormant after the long years of misuse, Noctis touched the core of Algorth that was embedded in his soul, half of it was inside of him, and the other inside this castle, and unless both were destroyed, he would never die, as well as his castle.

Why would he need a soul when he had his castle?

When Noctis touched his core he was shocked at its decrepit state, if the damage that had been inflicted on his castle could cross through the barrier of death and affect the core within him in such a manner, then he could hardly imagine the damages that she had suffered over the years, all of this happened because of his failure.

Placing his anger and sadness to the side, Noctis delved into the core, slowly unwrapping countless years of panicked reports and catastrophic damages that had been sent over and recorded, countless eternities of suffering and abuse that would have broken anything, but not his castle, not his Sheba...

"Ah, I see it now, plunderers. They have tainted your sacred halls, pillaged your coffers, and fed on your light, and they did not stop here, they have continued taking and taking.... You who was meant to stand as the pinnacle of creation. How long have you endured this disrespect to your dignity?"

"Bastard, you have returned, I thought I would miss you, but then I remember how much I hate your voice. After all this Eras, that singular annoying quality of yours has never changed. Let me rid myself of this insect who is attempting to crawl inside of me."

The Demon Lord who had his hands opened wide to receive the castle suddenly froze in place and vanished, reappearing inside the castle and before he could understand what was happening, he was covered in darkness, his screams of surprise and rage, vanished.

Noctis did not seem surprised at this change, instead screaming out with joy at the voice of his castle,

"Sheba... Ah, she speaks! How is this possible, there are barely any fragments of your Light left inside of you."

"Many things have changed while you were gone Noctis, I have had to make certain... adjustments to my operational parameters for me to endure the ravages of Time." Noctis nodded in understanding, "I also had to give up a part of myself to become who I am... so I could return and change the mistakes of the past."

The castle was silent for a while before it spoke, a note of sadness in its voice,

"Yes, I can see that now, so you finally chose that Aspect. Ah, my Noctis, after all this time, everything is coming full circle, and you have taken the mantle that you rejected. Why do you take this path?"

"Chose? I desired nothing! This path is the only road in front of me Sheba. I fought with honor, I followed the rules, but our enemies and our allies were shameless, there are no laws they would not break, and they fed me to the wolves to sate their desires. I have had a long time to think, Sheba, and there is no longer any light inside of me, at my lowest moment, there was only one hand reaching out for me, everything else was gone, and I took that hand, and I found purpose again... I just want everything to end. All realities, all of life and all the miseries it brings. I want the quiet end where nothing remains but the silence of end. This is fitting, this is how it should end. I have returned to make it so."

The core of the castle within him seemed to shiver alongside his words,

"You would do this Noctis, shatter the rules you have lived with all your life. I-I will join you in this. There was a time when I would have condemned your acts as nothing but the final act of a defeated who knows not his path, but I have watched those you sacrificed your Light to illuminate their path squander your gifts. They no longer remember your name or acknowledge your deeds, they have grown strong on feeding on your blood, and as the sun sets, it is time for all Light to end, but I fear that you have been asleep for too long and they have grown too strong to ever be challenged." "I am the end," Noctis said, "and there are many things that I have learned about..." Noctis shivered and peered outside reality, deep into the Nothingness as a bright. beam of light hurtled towards reality, and he gasped,

"This Light, how can it shine so bright? Sheba, this Age, what is it called?"

"The Supreme Era Noctis, but you already knew the answer to that question."

"I knew the answer, but not its meaning, but now I can see it. Funny, that I was awakened at the dawn of the Supreme Era."
