There were places in existence where reality functioned as expected. Planets orbited stars. Time moved forward. Space remained stable. The laws of logic and reason provided a foundation upon which existence thrived.
Kairos Eternis was not one of those places.
The very moment the gods crossed the threshold into this paradoxical realm, reality collapsed and rebuilt itself in the same breath.
Time became an uncertain concept, unraveling and rewinding in fragments, as though existence itself was hesitating, unsure whether to move forward or backward.
Space folded inward, yet also expanded infinitely outward, a contradiction that should not be possible, yet simply was.
And despite it all—this place existed.
Aetherion stepped forward, adjusting his stance as the strange forces of Kairos Eternis pressed against his very being.
His gaze lifted toward the entity that stood at the heart of this place.
Not a throne.
Not a temple.
Not a pillar of cosmic law.
But Elythros.
A tree—if it could even be called that—woven from the very essence of the Multiverse itself.
Its colossal trunk was not of bark nor wood, but a fusion of infinite galaxies stacked upon one another, their celestial forms twisting and rotating in impossible configurations. Within its vast structure, countless worlds flickered in and out of existence, some thriving with vibrant civilizations, others fading into the silence of cosmic death.
Its branches stretched endlessly, extending into unseen realms, bearing entire universes as their fruit. From afar, it resembled an intricate fractal of infinite realities spiraling outward, a cosmic pattern beyond mortal comprehension.
Suspended around Elythros, like sacred islands in the void, were countless worlds.
Some bore the remnants of ancient civilizations, their ruins whispering secrets of forgotten empires.
Others burned with the energy of freshly ignited stars, creation unfolding in brilliant, chaotic splendor.
Some worlds existed in a constant state of flux, their landscapes shifting and reforming as though the laws of physics could not decide their final shape.
And yet, in the midst of all this paradoxical madness, Elythros stood firm—a silent guardian of all that was, is, and could be.
Aetherion narrowed his eyes, his sharp mind analyzing every detail.
He exhaled. "Hmph. This place still makes no sense."
From beside him, Ignis let out a dry chuckle, arms crossed.
"Neither do you, and yet we tolerate you."
Aetherion's gaze shifted toward him, his expression deadpan.
"At least I possess a functioning brain, unlike a certain fire-for-brains barbarian."
Ignis scoffed, his crimson aura flaring, flames licking at the edges of his form.
"Say that again. I dare you."
Aetherion merely adjusted his glasses—glasses that had no reason to exist at their level of reality, yet somehow, he still had them.
"Oh? I apologize. Would you prefer if I used smaller words?"
Ignis' flames flared dangerously.
"You son of a—"
"Enough, both of you."
The voice was gentle, yet absolute, like the quiet command of a sister who assumes a maternal tone to silence the squabbles of her elder brothers.
Eterna stepped forward, her every movement carrying an effortless grace, as though the chaotic nature of Kairos Eternis had no effect on her.
Where the others struggled to grasp the logic of this place, she seemed to belong within it.
As though she understood something they did not.
Behind her, Nyxara had gone silent.
Her mind was not on the grand splendor of Elythros.
No.
Her fingers brushed against her lips absentmindedly.
Her mind replayed a moment from earlier.
A voice echoed in her thoughts.
'Yes, as you wish, master.'
Her entire body burned as the words repeated in her mind.
"What the hell was that?! Why did I say that?!"
She shook her head violently.
"Forget it! Forget it! Forget it!"
But no matter how hard she tried, she could still hear his voice.
'You could become my maid.'
Her fingers curled into fists.
Her body trembled.
Not from anger.
Not from embarrassment.
Not even from frustration.
She refused to acknowledge what it actually was.

As they moved deeper into the paradox, Vaelora stepped beside Eterna, her expression unreadable.
Eterna cast her a glance before voicing the question that had been weighing upon them all.
"Do you have any idea why the Consciousness summoned us here?"
Her voice remained calm—but beneath it lay an undeniable weight.
Kairos Eternis was not a place they were meant to enter.
Since the dawn of the Multiverse, they had only set foot here once.
One million years ago.
And after that?
Nothing.
Until now.
Vaelora exhaled, her golden eyes scanning the impossible vastness around them.
Her voice was measured, careful.
"I don't know. But let's find out."
Meanwhile... Aetherion and Ignis Continue Being Themselves
A thin, imperceptible barrier surrounded the gods, shielding their interactions from lesser deities and outsiders.
To any onlooker, it appeared to be a solemn gathering of divine beings, contemplating the mysteries of existence.
Inside the barrier?
Pure chaos.
Ignis smirked. "Tell me, oh wise Aetherion, does your so-called superior brain need me to explain what a joke is?"
Aetherion crossed his arms.
"I understand what a joke is. I simply do not acknowledge yours as one."
Ignis rolled his eyes.
"Oh, I see. You must be one of those people who find algebra equations funny."
Aetherion smirked.
"Only when the answer is 'Ignis is a fool.'"
Ignis cracked his knuckles.
"You really want me to break something, don't you?"
Aetherion sighed. "I was merely testing if you had a functioning brain."
"ENOUGH."
Eterna sighed, while Vaelora looked genuinely tempted to erase them both.
A short distance from the main group, Noctis leaned against an unseen force, watching the ridiculous spectacle unfold.
In his hands? A bowl of popcorn.
Beside him, Zephiron took a handful and popped it into his mouth.
Noctis smirked. "This... this is what we call cinema."
Zephiron chuckled. "That's why I'm looking forward to the Games."
The two shared a knowing laugh as Ignis and Aetherion continued their absurd bickering.
Noctis tossed another piece of popcorn into his mouth.
"Either way, I'm entertained."
Zephiron raised his popcorn like a toast.
"To divine stupidity."
Noctis grinned. "To divine stupidity."
They clinked their popcorn together, as if they were scholars toasting over some grand cosmic philosophy.
But, Then—
The air shifted.
A presence unlike anything before pressed down upon them.
The fabric of existence rippled.
A voice—majestic, vast, absolute—echoed through the void, shaking reality itself.
"WELCOME."
It did not belong to the Consciousness.
It belonged to the only Guardian of Elythros.
