The Newlywed's Sweet Honey: Husband, Pamper Me to the Bone!-Chapter 920: Forcing Him to Yield
It was early summer, and the lush trees made for a good hiding place.
Only after Mu Yiliang walked in did she realize that the forest was actually quite sparse, not particularly suitable for hiding. If someone got close, they could easily spot her.
But, it wasn’t completely hopeless.
No matter what, once Yan Sijue discovered she was missing, he couldn’t possibly not care at all, right? He would definitely come looking for her, wouldn’t he? She dared him to ignore her!
She was truly left with no choice but to think up this runaway scheme.
...
The sky gradually darkened.
The servants in the manor initially didn’t pay much attention, as Mu Yiliang usually went out for walks, typically returning within an hour or two. But today, even until almost one in the afternoon, there was still no sign of Mu Yiliang.
Ada searched every room throughout the manor but couldn’t find Mu Yiliang. She called her phone, but it was out of signal range.
Only then did she start to panic, mobilizing all the servants to search the small island, along with other staff on the island, all joining the search party.
Ada initially didn’t plan to inform Yan Sijue to avoid causing unnecessary alarm, but when the sky grew darker and Mu Yiliang still hadn’t appeared, she had no choice but to call Yan Sijue.
As soon as the call connected, after Ada explained the situation, Yan Sijue abruptly hung up!
Ada felt utterly helpless.
She was increasingly confused by the dynamics of this couple. To say the husband didn’t care about his wife was absurd because he was always attentive and meticulous; to say he cared deeply was baffling because he often ignored her. Ada could only attribute it to the couple’s romantic quirks.
Sophie had been personally driven away by the gentleman simply because she accidentally burned the madam, and after that incident, all the manor’s servants, including Ada herself, treated the madam with utmost respect. However, after a few days, the couple started their cold war again.
But with the madam missing, the gentleman wasn’t even a bit anxious, which was perplexing.
She had no choice but to organize the staff, concentrating everyone in the northwest corner of the small forest.
Given the small size of the island, and its vast openness, the only place likely to be overlooked was that tiny forest.
Ada had also considered if the madam had accidentally fallen into the sea, but that was impossible. If she had fallen into the sea, the lifeguards patrolling the coast wouldn’t have been unaware. Besides, the sea was calm today; there was no reason for the madam to end up in the water.
So in the end, that small forest was the only breakthrough point.
It was already dark; the forest appeared eerie. A group held flashlights, shining them as they shouted.
But after a thorough search, the group still found nothing.
Ada was close to tears.
Fortunately, at that moment, Yan Sijue finally returned. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
After hearing Ada’s report, the man’s expression grew increasingly grim, and in the end, he was practically grinding his teeth!
"Bring me a flashlight!" He instructed in a low voice.
Ada quickly obliged.
Yan Sijue grasped the flashlight, not even taking a sip of water, before turning and vanishing into the night.
He knew full well, this woman was doing it deliberately. She surely watched closely from the shadows as the entire island mobilized, yet remained silent until he showed up.
She actually came up with this scheme to force his hand! Fine, very well!
She was becoming more and more audacious!
Yan Sijue gathered his anger but still showed worry and anxiety in his eyes.
