Chapter 857: Chapter 857: Do You Love Me or Him? (7)

Lan Yueru was momentarily stunned.

Mu Yiliang listened with a slight sigh of relief; she thought Yan Sijue had done something exceptionally cruel to Xin.

Although Xin’s actions were detestable, Mu Yiliang absolutely agreed that this woman deserved some lessons, even if she were locked up for life, Mu Yiliang would have no objections.

But she hoped this man’s methods wouldn’t be too vicious.

"You’re right." After a while, Lan Yueru slowly nodded. She was also puzzled, Xin didn’t seem like someone who would yield easily, how could she kneel and beg her.

Ah, so that’s it. Perhaps Xin was secretly up to some mischief.

"Then, will you still go to see her in the future?" Yan Sijue’s eyes flickered.

Lan Yueru bitterly smiled and shook her head: "No, I’ve completely given up now."

Xin’s original intention in saving her wasn’t pure. She’s still grateful for everything Xin did for her, but after being used by Xin repeatedly, there’s little gratitude left.

She would not actively do anything to Xin, but neither would she care for her or see her again.

"That’s good then." Yan Sijue chuckled softly.

As Mu Yiliang listened to his chuckle, she felt a chill run down her spine; she instinctively glanced at the man by her side, coincidentally meeting Yan Sijue’s gaze.

His eyes remained dark and inscrutable, bafflingly deep.

Mu Yiliang’s heart skipped a beat, she quickly managed a smile.

He squinted at her for a moment before shifting his gaze back to Lan Yueru: "I’ll arrange for someone to send you and Xiaoze home tomorrow."

"Alright." Lan Yueru nodded.

...

After a while, the family of three left Lan Yueru’s room, Mu Yiliang holding her son, sighing wistfully.

Yan Sijue ignored them, turning to summon the subordinates responsible for guarding Xin.

"Give her a bit more, but don’t let her die." He said indifferently.

The subordinate agreed in a deep voice, a hint of ruthlessness showing at the corner of his mouth.

Yan Sijue laughed coldly.

He had Lan Yueru meet Xin to make her give up; Xin’s pleading he anticipated long ago, however, punishment was necessary too.

Not far off, Mu Yiliang took Xiaoze back to their room.

Mu Yiliang was unaware that his seemingly normal behavior stemmed from venting his violent side onto Xin.

What she did warranted bearing his wrath.

The man’s eyes flickered, suppressing the darkness within them, he caught up with the mother and son.

The next day, Lan Yueru left with Xiaoze.

Mu Yiliang saw them off at the dock, patting her son’s shoulder: "Be good to your grandma, right, you’ve missed a lot of classes, haven’t you?"

"Uh..." Xiaoze blinked, looking innocent.

"I actually forgot such an important thing!" Mu Yiliang slapped her forehead.

Primarily because there had been so few honest days of schooling, she forgot her son was now in primary school.

Fortunately, Lan Yueru mentioned it.

"You’ve hardly been to your new school." Mu Yiliang was somewhat annoyed at being fooled by this little guy, "Your homeroom teacher hasn’t called me, you must be up to no good, right?"

"It’s not my fault, I left Daddy’s number on the parent contact list at the new school." Xiaoze quickly cleared himself of blame, "Anyway, I will study well once I’m back, homework won’t be difficult for me, mommy don’t worry."
