The Newlywed's Sweet Honey: Husband, Pamper Me to the Bone!-Chapter 827: Shattered Illusions (1)
The mother and son then left the beach holding hands and walked toward the estate. As they approached the entrance, Mu Yiliang looked up and saw Yan Sijue standing there, causing her steps to halt suddenly.
The man was dressed in a pure black shirt, with his arms folded. His handsome face showed no expression, and his eyes had a cold quality.
She instinctively tightened her grip on Xiaoze’s hand, her expression a bit tense. Xiaoze, too, acted like he had done something wrong, hiding his other hand behind his back, and stared at him with wide eyes.
Yan Sijue’s expression seemed even colder as he observed the mother and son acting as if they were facing a formidable enemy. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Mu Yiliang was a bit awkward: "Sijue, you’re here..."
After speaking, it seemed as if she suddenly remembered something, and she lifted the shiny Ruby, looking like she was presenting a treasure: "Look, Xiaoze and I found this!"
The man’s deep gaze glanced lightly over the Ruby, landing back on her face, saying nothing.
Mu Yiliang felt speechless, her hand still holding up the Ruby. The man’s lack of response made her gesture seem somewhat silly.
Xiaoze quickly stepped in to save the situation: "This Ruby is a gift for mommy!"
He said it loudly, as if in a challenge.
Yan Sijue slightly raised an eyebrow, finally making a move.
He walked up to Mu Yiliang, took the Ruby from her hand, glanced at it casually, then sneered, raised his hand, and the Ruby flew in an arc, landing far away.
Mu Yiliang was stunned, and Xiaoze was equally shocked.
"What are you doing!" Xiaoze was so angry he jumped, running over to retrieve it, but such a small gemstone buried in the sand was not easy to find.
Mu Yiliang was also a bit angry. What she felt hurt for wasn’t the Ruby itself, but... the sense of achievement and satisfaction she and Xiaoze had after finding it was casually discarded by this man!
Over there, Xiaoze searched for a long time to no avail and dashed back, his voice already tinged with tears: "Give me back my Ruby!"
Yan Sijue looked at him lightly: "That was bought for your grandmother by me, given to you by her. In the end, it’s still mine."
Xiaoze was dumbfounded.
"Do you think I can’t afford it!" He was so angry that tears fell, clutching Mu Yiliang’s hand, and said, "Mommy, let’s go! I’ll buy you ten or eight Rubies!"
Mu Yiliang, feeling sorry for her son, hugged him soothingly: "It’s okay, I don’t care much for a Ruby."
"I insist on buying them for you!" he said, while glaring fiercely.
"Alright, alright." Mu Yiliang responded continuously, obediently following his steps.
As they passed by the man, she instinctively looked up at him. His expression remained indifferent, his dark eyes crossed with hers for a brief moment before moving away apathetically.
Mu Yiliang felt a pain in her heart.
She couldn’t help but smile bitterly; every time she had a glimmer of hope, this man would use even more extreme methods to shatter her fantasy.
...
Mu Yiliang spent a long time soothing Xiaoze.
She knew that Xiaoze’s sadness wasn’t from losing a Ruby, but from Yan Sijue’s indifferent behavior.
How could she not feel the same heartache?
She stayed in Xiaoze’s room for a long time, had dinner with him, and waited til he finished bathing and blow-dried his hair before leaving, heading toward the new room shared with Yan Sijue.
When she opened the door and entered, she felt a bit apprehensive.
However, the room was empty.
