Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Small Details (Part 3)

Sarld’s eyes held a hint of nostalgia as he spoke: "Afterwards, the five of us discovered the place we now occupy."

"We were all very surprised then; we didn’t expect such a place on the periphery of the Chaotic Sea Domain."

"After deliberations, we decided to settle there together."

"Later, we acted together, intercepting many caravans and passersby, yielding great rewards. Many ordinary people in our territory now are those we intercepted."

"Later, we encountered many defectors. Some we took in, while we killed many more."

"Our power grew bigger, and we had more talent under us. Plus, none of the five of us had too much ambition, so we focused on development and stable growth."

"Then, one by one, the five of us reached the Epic Level. At first, Kaino proposed that we head into the inner Chaotic Sea Domain together to claim a spot."

"But the other four of us opposed it. We were all too enamored with our comfortable lives and didn’t want to take risks. We thought everything was perfect as it was, with no need for any changes."

When Sarld said this, he noticeably paused.

Fang Ka could hear a bit of regret in his words.

Clearly, he regretted not listening to Kaino, otherwise, he wouldn’t have ended up in this situation.

Fang Ka grinned and said, "Your experiences are quite interesting."

Then he turned to Wangzai Little Buns: "Xiao Mantou, knock him out."

Upon hearing Fang Ka’s words, Wangzai Little Buns hesitated for a moment, then promptly knocked Sarld out.

Glancing at the unconscious Sarld, Fang Ka then turned his gaze to Swinging in the Wind, who was holding Riel.

He spoke to Swinging in the Wind, "Swinging in the Wind, wake up that Epic Mage in your hands for me."

Seeing what Wangzai Little Buns had done earlier, Swinging in the Wind naturally knew what was best to do.

He went up and slapped Riel awake with two hard slaps.

However, his slaps were much harder than Wangzai Little Buns’, causing only one of Sarld’s teeth to be knocked out.

Whereas, Swinging in the Wind knocked out three of Riel’s teeth.

Riel, jolted awake by the pain, grimaced but quickly took stock of his situation.

More afraid to die than Sarld, he immediately calmed down, even more so than Sarld had.

Seeing Riel’s behavior, Fang Ka chuckled, then began questioning Riel through the Array of the Sound of the Cyan Wood, asking the same questions he had asked Sarld earlier.

Fang Ka wanted to verify whether Sarld had lied to him.

Attacked by surprise, the two had no chance to coordinate beforehand, not expecting Fang Ka’s assault or their own defeat.

If their stories matched, it meant they weren’t lying.

If their stories didn’t match, it meant one or both were lying.

If that were the case, Fang Ka would kill them both outright.

He had no intention of keeping dishonest individuals around.

Especially since Fang Ka currently had no shortage of Epic-level forces.

Riel quickly answered all questions, much to Fang Ka’s surprise, as Riel’s account matched Sarld’s completely.

The only minor difference was Sarld claimed it was Riel’s idea for them to join forces, while Riel said it was Sarld’s suggestion.

This slight discrepancy could be disregarded, as Fang Ka understood it was a matter of pride and dignity, nothing more to say."

From his perspective, Fang Ka had observed their fight through the eyes of his subordinates. Riel was a purely Water Mage, and Sarld a purely Wind Mage.

Thus, Fang Ka decided to have them both cultivate Dark Magic, ensuring they couldn’t escape his control.

Cultivating Dark Magic makes one a target for everyone.

As long as they practiced Dark Magic, Fang Ka could subdue and employ them.

Frankly, given Fang Ka’s current power, coercion was unnecessary; a few methods sufficed.

If they defied him, his forces could suppress them anytime.

As time passed, his power would only grow, reducing any chance of rebellion.

Fang Ka then told Wangzai Little Buns again, "Wake up that Epic Mage in your hands for me again."

Upon Fang Ka’s words, Wangzai Little Buns looked at the unconscious Sarld with a hint of pity before giving him two more slaps.

This time, nearly turning Sarld’s face into a pig’s head.

The newly awakened Sarld grimaced in pain.

It was at this moment that Fang Ka’s voice rang out, sounding angelic to his ears.

"I can spare your lives and even employ you under me, but there is one condition: you must cultivate Dark Magic."

"I will teach you Dark Magic myself."

Knowing cultivating Dark Magic made them outcasts, they still preferred that over death.

Without hesitation, both nodded in agreement.

Seeing their fear of death, Fang Ka frowned slightly but soon eased up.

Such individuals had their pros and cons.

The pro was their obedience and usefulness.

The con was their potential betrayal if he ever fell to the disadvantage.

However, Fang Ka wasn’t worried, as his followers would only increase, and his power would grow.

Should he truly fall, it would mean his end was near.

Moreover, Alchemy Poison could ensure another layer of control over them.
