Chapter 710: isolated

"This has never happened before," one of the gods murmured, and the others laughed.

"You are still very young, Jordan, but there have been periods like this before," the oracle began to speak calmly. "In those periods, some celestial-level events were taking place, whether it was a war involving the multiverse or the destruction of Atherion."

"Is this similar to when the Monarch of Chaos became a fifth-level god?" That question came from none other than Achilles, the same mage who had come from that universe together with Kayden.

"No and yes," this time the one who answered was the Librarian. "The divine king had strength far superior to Kayden’s, but... his potential is not even close to Kayden’s."

"We are completely in the dark," the oracle continued. "We do not know Kayden’s true potential, nor even what his plans are. We cannot even get a direction from the flow of the laws of time."

"I think it is time to summon the Divine Council," commented... Zeus this time, the one who had come from another universe together with Athena, alive and at an insane peak of power.

"I am in favor," some voices repeated, and in just a few minutes hundreds of mages began to appear at the entrance of the void. Many of them did not have the capacity to enter that space.

The divine monarch appeared once again. He had not expected a meeting to be called—not at this moment, at least. Something was wrong; it seemed that there was more than what had truly happened, and...

"I am dying." The oracle began the meeting with his calm voice. Practically everyone understood that he was the divine leader in the universe of the dead gods.

It was a funny name for that group. There were at least two hundred of them in that place at the moment, but it was self-explanatory. These gods were entities that no longer took part in the mortal world nor even in the divine world; they were beings who had already ended their participation in the mundane world and lived completely isolated, without any minimal contact with other mages.

"I obviously would not call you all just to announce that," the oracle smiled with his eyes, since he had no mouth. "The first thing is that my successor in the council and in the Celestial Monastery is Achilles Delphos."

Achilles was pointed out and acknowledged by all the gods. Even though he was young, the cycle was inevitable; he had to continue it. There was nothing that lasted forever, and everyone present was capable of respecting the flow of destiny—or rather, they had learned that it was inevitable.

"Now let us move to the second point," the oracle seemed weaker with each passing second. "I ended my life by forcing a vision of the future. At this moment, we are walking toward the end."

Before its presence is recognized,

the signs will already have occurred.

Laws will display impossible gaps,

cosmic memories will contain records without origin,

and certain events will exist without ever having happened.

When it is finally named,

it will be only out of necessity for reference.

The Devourer will not arrive—

it will have already arrived.

Acrhavel will not consume with intention,

nor will it advance in stages.

The existence compatible with it

will simply cease to coexist.

Worlds will disappear without collapse,

laws will cease without rupture,

and the multiverse will lose entire layers

without any transition being observed.

A prophecy that cost him his life—that was what the oldest and most powerful oracle that had ever existed managed to gather. Those simple words caused him to fall completely silent, his soul ceasing to exist and fading away entirely, with no chance of rebirth—an absolute end to a being who had literally seen the first mages be born.

No one knew what would happen now, not even what the future held. It seemed that they would be killed; the end was inevitable from what had been presented to them. At least, that was what was implied by the prophecy, but...

"I ask for one minute of everyone’s attention," Achilles would not miss his opportunity at that moment. "The end my master spoke of referred to a mage becoming a god and consuming all of us, but... he has not yet become anywhere near divinity. His name must be known to some of you. He is Kayden Heart."

Achilles’ statement surprised only those who had not been present during the most recent events; the rest already understood what he was trying to say, but they did not understand what the true connection with Kayden was. The prophecy could refer to many events; it seemed more like a personal estimation than something truly certain.

"Kayden Heart is the number one enemy of the universe, and unfortunately he is untouchable. No god is capable of moving even a single finger against him." That was truly the case; no god would be capable of dealing with the karma of attacking Kayden. "But mortals are capable. Moreover, we can lock him within the universe he is currently in for a long time."

For the next few minutes, Achilles explained how each god should prepare dozens of candidates capable of facing Kayden. All of them should do this so that in the future a great war could be established. The multiverse would have to unite to face Kayden; he would have to be forcibly removed from existence.

The plans being made involved a gigantic number of universes—more specifically, ninety percent of all existence would be going against Kayden, with only a minuscule number being left aside for random reasons.

"Why should we do this?" Jordan asked after some time, and the one who answered was Zeus.

"We have no other option. If we do not do this, we will die," Zeus replied, and some gods agreed. Most of them were younger elders; the truly ancient ones had some different opinions.

"If death is our destiny, we must accept it." This was a common thought among those gods. They no longer truly participated in worldly events, and convincing them otherwise would be extremely difficult—but Achilles was also something special.

"How many of you have already given up on becoming celestials?" he asked. "From what I see, all of you have. But the event of Kayden’s death will be able to make you see a new light, since his soul will be left free for any of you to absorb, since he is—"

"A mortal with a divine soul." Many gods finished Achilles’ sentence before he was able to. That small cog that turned in their minds at that moment changed everything. No more words were necessary.

From that moment onward, Kayden was facing all of existence against him.
