The Mind-Reading Mate: Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me?!-Chapter 217: Kiss Away the Dirt He Left Behind
Chapter 217: Kiss Away the Dirt He Left Behind
Primrose thought it was kind of silly to cuddle while sleeping, but a small pillow between them gave just enough space to keep things from feeling too close.
Still, she didn’t ask why Edmund had put that pillow there, or why he didn’t want to hold her a little tighter.
She already knew the reason, and honestly, she didn’t want to tempt a hungry shark.
"Good night," she said before closing her eyes.
Even with a pillow between them, having Edmund by her side made her feel safe, like nothing could hurt her as long as she was lying next to him. She didn’t have to worry about nightmares or danger tonight.
Edmund brushed her hair gently and whispered back, "Good night, my wife."
After that, the room fell into a peaceful silence. The only sounds left were the soft crackle of the fireplace and their calm breathing.
Primrose didn’t dream of anything that night, which was a good thing, because she preferred it that way rather than having another nightmare like she had for the past three days.
The sun hadn’t even risen yet when Primrose slowly opened her eyes. It was because she could feel Edmund tossing and turning beside her.
He hadn’t been able to stay still for a while now. He looked restless, completely lost in his thoughts.
[What do I do? What do I do?!] he panicked inside his head. [I’m so messed up ... I really don’t want my wife to think I’m a pervert, but why won’t this damn boner go down since last night?]
[I’ve already tried splashing it with cold water, but it only stayed down for an hour before it rose again when my wife hugged me while sleeping.]
[WHY AM I ACTING LIKE THIS?!] he screamed in his mind, startling Primrose a little. [She’s definitely going to think I’m gross ...]
If Edmund were just some random guy, maybe Primrose would have thought that way. But he wasn’t. He was her husband and because of that, she didn’t think it was disgusting at all.
His reaction was completely normal, especially because a lycan had stronger desires than a human.
But even with all that desire running wild, Edmund hadn’t laid a finger on her. He kept his promise. He respected her boundaries. And for that, Primrose thought ... maybe he deserved a big reward.
"Husband..." she called out, her voice soft and a little hoarse. She reached for the pillow between them and casually tossed it away. "Didn’t you get any sleep last night?"
Edmund swallowed hard, his eyes trailing after the poor pillow as it hit the floor. He thought about grabbing another one to replace it, but before he could even move, Primrose was already tossing it away too, like it was cursed or something.
"I ... I couldn’t sleep," he admitted, shifting back slightly when he saw her inching closer.
[No, no, don’t come closer! The sun hasn’t even risen yet!] Edmund was in full panic mode inside his head. [She needs more rest. My wife needs to sleep more!]
Primrose furrowed her brows. She felt like she had already slept enough, so why did they need to wait until sunrise?
"But ... aren’t we supposed to leave this afternoon?" Primrose asked in a slightly sad tone. "How can we go if you haven’t even slept yet?"
Edmund held his breath as her face came just an inch away from his. "Don’t worry about that ..." he whispered, swallowing nervously as his eyes dropped to her red lips. "I can still function even if I don’t sleep today."
Primrose lingered close to his mouth, teasing him on purpose. "Even if you do something ... exhausting?"
Edmund lowered his eyelids, his voice soft. "Even if it’s exhausting."
"Then ..." Her fingers slid slowly from his chest to his stomach. "Do you want to do something exhausting with me now?"
"The sun hasn’t risen yet," Edmund whispered again, almost like a last line of defense.
Primrose tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "But it’s already morning, isn’t it?" Her hand gently brushed against the bulge in his pants. "Besides ... haven’t you been waiting for this all night?"
"I’m ... sorry." Edmund growled, his voice low and husky as she gently squeezed him through his pants. "I shouldn’t be like this."
"Like what?" Primrose kissed his chin softly, then moved to his cheek, her lips brushing over him again and again.
She whispered in his ear, "You’ve done your best to hold back all night." Then, even softer, "So now ... I’m giving you permission to do whatever you want with me."
Edmund’s eyes lit up with desire. He gripped her waist and flipped her beneath him. His voice trembled a little when he asked, "Are you sure ... you want me to touch you?"
[Just a few days ago ... she wouldn’t even let me hold her hand because she was so scared.]
[I don’t want her to get hurt again. I don’t want her to feel that kind of fear ever again.]
"It’s you," Primrose said as she reached up to touch his face, smiling. "I know I’ll be fine ... if it’s you." She lifted her head slightly and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "Besides ... I can’t keep running away from my husband forever."
After Thevan died, she finally started to feel a little lighter. but if she were being honest, there were still parts of her that felt ... dirty.
The places he touched still felt like they were covered in mud, a sticky, disgusting mud that she couldn’t wash off no matter how hard she tried.
"But ... can I ask you for something, husband?" Her voice softened. "Can you kiss the places he touched?" Her expression turned sorrowful. "Maybe ... if you kiss them, I’ll stop feeling so disgusted with myself."
[Even now, I think dying was too easy for him.]
[I should’ve burned him alive until his flesh and bones melted.]
"I can," Edmund whispered so softly, his voice nearly broke. "Tell me where did he touch you."
Primrose touched her lips with a trembling finger. "He ... put his thumb inside my mouth."
At that moment, Edmund looked like he wanted to drag Thevan’s soul back into his corpse just to kill him all over again.
"It feels disgusting," Primrose whispered. "I can’t even eat properly because every time I put something in my mouth, I remember him and it makes me sick."
