The Masked prince-Chapter 196: The Worried Elias
Elias was mixed amidst the people but looking out for Evelyn. The prince was not allowed to bring their servants to the banquet ...especially with any kind of weapon.
Hence, Elias had to disguise himself as one of the palace servants. He was even hiding a dagger in his clothes which escaped from the eyes of the checker at the banquet entrance.
Elias had done it many times so he had belief in his ability.
He noticed when his master as well as Rex left Evelyn alone. He didn’t know why they left but he knew that now it was he who was supposed to look out for Evelyn.
However, he was left surprised when a servant came and told him
"His Highness Prince Regan is in trouble and he needs you immediately."
Elias was immediately worried about his master.
What happened to his master?! However, the next moment his eyes sharpened, and he suddenly dragged the man into a corner and asked him coldly.
"How did you know me?"
He was in disguise so no one was supposed to know him but this man knew that he was related to his master.
However, the man said the same sentence again
"His Highness Prince Regan is in trouble and he needs you immediately."
Elias frowned and pushed the man against the wall with a force. However, the man didn’t even blink. Furious, Elias asked him this time.
"Tell me, who sent you?"
But the man seemed to know only one sentence and when he started to say that same sentence for the third time, Elias sensed that something was really wrong with the man.
He held the man with one hand, not allowing him to escape, and turned around to look at Evelyn but his eyes widened when he didn’t find her at the same spot. He looked around the banquet hall but didn’t find her anywhere.
Elias immediately became serious and turned to look at the man again. He realized that it was all a trap so that his attention would divert from Evelyn and he fell into the trap.
Elias found it shameful but he didn’t have the time to ponder on it. He knew that the first and foremost thing that was important right now was to find Evelyn.
"Who sent you?"
He asked the man coldly.
The man however had completely blank eyes.
They were still in the banquet hall so Elias had to pretend as if they were having a civil conversation. He couldn’t beat him there.
So he dragged the man outside the banquet hall through the other entrance and pushed him inside one of the servant quarters.
Surprisingly the man didn’t even struggle against his hold.
Elias knew that he couldn’t waste his time on this man so he locked the man inside the servant quarters. After all, they would need to find out later who sent him.
After that, Elias immediately went back to the banquet hall to find Evelyn.
He first looked around carefully but when he didn’t find her there, Elias went outside the banquet hall He looked around the garden and called out Evelyn’s name.
Elias had turned in one direction to search further when he suddenly heard the rustling voice and turned around.
His eyes widened when he saw Evelyn walking towards him.
"Evelyn!"
He shouted immediately and walked to her before she could reach him.
"Where did you...I mean Your Highness go?"
Evelyn already had a very confused expression on her face and when she heard Elias calling her in a different manner, she was more confused.
"Elias..."
Evelyn wanted to ask Elias why he was suddenly behaving like this but before she could utter another word, she suddenly felt very dizzy.
When she stumbled suddenly, Elias had to hold her arm. He looked worried as he asked
"Is Your Highness alright?"
Evelyn pressed her temple as she whispered
"Headache...my head is aching so much."
She was feeling as if it would burst at any moment because of the pain she was feeling. Elias frowned wondering what happened in a few moments.
He also wanted to know where she went.
But before he could do so, he suddenly heard a voice.
"Elias!"
Elias turned slightly still holding Evelyn’s arm so that she won’t fall down. He sighed in relief when he saw his master and Rex walking towards him.
"What are you doing he...Evelyn! What happened?"
Regan was confused to see Evelyn and Elias outside the banquet hall. Only he knew how worried he was when he didn’t find Evelyn at the same spot where he had left her.
It was Rex who told him that even Elias was not inside the banquet hall and both of them exited the banquet hall only to find Evelyn and Elias inside the garden.
But Regan was worried when he saw that Evelyn’s face was slightly pale and she didn’t look fine.
He walked to Evelyn and held her closer. As soon as he did, Elias left her arm as he said
"Your Highness, Her Highness is suddenly feeling dizzy."
Regan was worried as he held Evelyn’s waist and touched her forehead. She didn’t have a fever.
"Evelyn, we will leave now."
He said softly seeing how deep a frown she had on her forehead.
Evelyn merely nodded her head.
Elias left to prepare the carriage and Regan with Evelyn slowly walked out of the Royal Palace. He really wished to carry her in his arms because she looked as if she was having difficulty in walking but he was afraid that she would feel uncomfortable.
However, when Rex nudged his arm suddenly and said
"She doesn’t look well, Regan. It is not the time for your hesitation."
Regan nodded his head and picked Evelyn in his arms and walked towards the carriage in long strides. Fortunately, Evelyn also didn’t struggle which was somewhat unusual.
However, it was only when they reached the carriage did Regan realized why Evelyn didn’t struggle at all.
Because she seemed to have fallen unconscious at some point of time.
