Chapter 3998: Fortress of Lorentz

Rui’s eyes widened with horror as he watched the holes ripping through the very fabric of reality stabilize, growing more and more stable and secure, before releasing a large amount of gas into the solar system.

FWOOSH...

It was nebula gas, composed of hydrogen and helium primarily, making the cosmos in the background that much less clear. The gas, instead of diffusing outwards, seemed to gel together, creating a field where the medium was entirely gaseous.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The very fabric of space and time shook as what could only be described as monsters emerged from the depths of the wormholes that surrounded the solar system. They emerged from the holes in reality, entering the little cocoon of gas they had created for themselves.

WHOOSH

Rui shook as he floated in the gulf of outer space, beholding alien monsters unlike anything he had ever seen before. Their bodies were shockingly dark, absorbing every ounce of light they could get their hands on, making it almost impossible to perceive them.

And yet, the absence of light was, in and of itself, a very glaring sign of their presence.

"What..." His voice was reduced to a whisper, permeating through the very fabric of space and time. "What is this?"

"Nebulars." The laminar integument answered his question with its thoughts. "Life. Evolved. In. Nebulae. Creatures. Seeded. By. Alien. Virus. For. Purpose. Of. Space. War. For. Purpose. Of. Infecting. New. Stars. From. Birth."

WHOOSH

The sheer scale of their bodies was titanic, stretching up to hundreds, if not thousands, of kilometers in its dimensions, many of whom were even larger than the Suneater. Yet, the density of their bodies was very low, based on how little they curved the very fabric of space and time with the mass of their body. They had little to no gravitational presence if their bodies were even remotely as dense as solid matter or even liquid matter.

WHOOSH

Their body shapes were vast and diverse, as if a whole ecosystem of life had come through the depths of the wormholes. There were some that were round, others that were flat, some that were amorphous and continuously changed and warped. Others had shapes that resembled a strange fusion between crustaceans and avians.

Yet, what they all had in common was an appendage that moved in a paddling mechanism in their body that resembled a strange fusion between the oars of boats and the movements of a fan. A mechanism for movement within a cloud of stellar nebula gas, allowing themselves to propel forward in the cloud of nebula gas that they had created for themselves. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

He watched with horror as a sea of nebula gas and an army of alien monsters drowned in darkness emerged from the depths of the wormholes surrounding the very fabric of reality itself.

RUMBLE

The very architecture changed under the weight of their collective existence upon the fabric of space and time.

The sea of nebula gas expanded forth into the solar system ominously.

And with it, so did the army.

They charged in one direction.

In the direction of Gaia.

RUMBLE

The looming, expanding threat shook the world lightly as they drew closer and closer to their target at an astonishing speed and pace, crossing the vast expanses of the solar system at near relativistic speeds, propelling against the very fabric of space and time.

There were minutes left, at most.

Minutes before Gaia was reseeded and accelerated into an explosion.

Minutes before Gaia’s destruction were all but nigh.

"The. Time. Has. Come."

The laminar integument thought to itself and to Rui. "Monsters. Have. Come. Reseeding. To. Be. Completed. Your. World. No. Hope."

Rui’s expression tightened.

The blood-red suns within the depths of his eyes shone with blinding brightness.

"No."

His voice was one of ferocious determination.

"I don’t care if it is you laminar integuments or nebulars," he swore. "Nobody will harm my world. My people. My daughter."

RUMBLE!!!!!

The very fabric of space and time shook as he mobilized every ounce of power he could scrape from deep within his bodies.

And then, he charged.

WHOOSH

He propelled himself forth through the very fabric of space and time as he charged towards the incoming army of alien nebular monsters that sought to destroy Gaia, gathering power and momentum.

It didn’t matter if he was facing an army.

It didn’t matter if he was all by himself.

It didn’t matter what the odds were.

He had no intention of giving up.

He had no intention of failing.

Not when the stakes were everything.

The blood-red suns within the depths of his eyes flared with blinding brightness as he drew closer and closer to the incoming army of nebular alien monsters.

A hundred thousand kilometers.

Fifty thousand.

Ten thousand.

Five thousand.

One thousand.

One hundred.

And eventually, he was just a single kilometer away from the incoming monsters, charging forth with as much speed and power as he was possibly able to muster.

He faced an army.

An army of horrifying scale composed of beasts that dwelled in darkness, reaching scales of heavenly bodies.

And yet, he didn’t once falter.

Moments before the two sides clashed, a single whisper escaped him.

A whisper that permeated through the very fabric of space and time.

"Fortress of Lorentz."

RUMBLE!!!!!!

From within the depths of his body emerged an astronomically intense electromagnetic field. One that was so intense that it buzzed in his ears, charging even his own body.

He adaptively evolved his Gene Realm, using it to turn every cell in his body into an electromagnetic dynamo that produced a powerful electromagnetic field.

Each cell worked together, stacking their electromagnetic fields upon each other additively until the resultant field grew so intense that it would have ripped electric signals flowing between synapses of any human around him.

The moment he made contact with the expanding cloud of nebula gas, the electromagnetic field ionized it, causing the hydrogen gas within the cloud to break into atoms and then into ions as arcs of electricity spread across the entire cloud.

They consumed the nebular monsters in giant arcs of lightning as the entire cloud lit up brightly upon contact with a tremendous flux of energy flowing through it.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

Rui took on the entire army himself, fighting with every ounce of power he could possibly muster.
