2911 Monster of Adaptive Evolution

While the battle between the Heaven Sect and the heavenly ecosphere raged on, the Martial Sages of the Hive found themselves in the depths of hell. A large and endless wasteland filled with corpses of endless creatures scattered across its depths.

Powerful beasts and monsters, many of which were even quasi-Transcendent grade in their power.

The sky was red.

The land was pitch black.

They found themselves before a single creature.

The sourc𝗲 of this content is frёeωebɳovel.com.

It has a spherical body like that of a slime.

It was pitch black, the size of a mountain.

It was alive.

They gritted their teeth as they understood what they were looking at.

"That…" often Martial Sages of the Hive gritted their teeth, "that is an abyssfeeder!"

Abyssfeeders were the only known living organisms to have harnessed the profoundly mysterious and strange Primordial Seed, an endlessly versatile substance that could change its form to become anything.

The abyssfeeders possessed the ability to become anything, giving them a degree of adaptive evolution that was unfathomable. They were known to be among the very most powerful species in combat, able to achieve parity with Martial Artists in so far as their utilization of power.

The one before it was nothing short of a quasi-Transcendent creature.

Perhaps the most powerful quasi-Transcendent creature in existence.

The Martial Sages drew closer and closer to each other as they faced the abyssfeeder with a profoundly severe expression. They understood the sheer gravity of the situation they were in, and yet, they didn't falter.

Their Martial Attires were perfectly uniform, a simple two-piece attire of white cloth with the crest of the Hive embroidered on its chest. The Martial Sages themselves appeared to be in perfect harmony with each other.

Their hearts, quite literally, beat in unison.

Their breathing was in perfect harmony.

"Battle formation Omega."

The leader of the group commanded as his expression hardened with solemn seriousness.

Immediately, the Martial Sages banded together, activating a special breathing technique native to the Hive.

One that resonated with their very existence together.

The abyssfeeder simply seemed to behold them for a moment.

And then, it attacked.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

In the blink of an eyes, a blindingly fast spike of pitch black darkness, warping the very fabric of space and time emerged from the abyssfeeder as the substance of its spike shifted to one that was extremely indestructible and extremely hard.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Most Martial Sages would have perished then and there.

Even among the peak Martial Sages, there weren't many who could have survived such an astronomically lethal attack.

And yet—

"Do not underestimate the power of the Hive."

The abyssfeeder seemed to stir with shock as the Martial Sages of the Hive each incurred the same wound, even though it had only struck the leader.

"We are one." The man at the very front snarled as he unleashed a powerful blow against the extended spike of the abyssfeeder. Simultaneously, the other Martial Sages also moved, unleashing their own power.

Not in a separate attack.

No.

But to pool their power into a single attack.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

A tremendous attack of astronomical power emerged from the group as it impacted the abyssfeeder heavily, crumpling its body with a deep dent.

FWOOP

They shook where they stood as it effortlessly restored itself in the blink of an eye. The very next moment, it unleashed a hurl of wind and sound at them, threatening to flatten them under the sheer astronomical pressure of its power.

"Union of Defense!" the burly leader of the group snarled as they divided the brunt of the impact among one another, while pooling all their power to not just launch tremendously immense power but also maneuver at speeds that they couldn't otherwise do.

The Hive was a nation that had mastered harmony, unity, and teamwork among its members. Born in a region that hosted a special species of flora that, when consumed over their entire lives, slowly gave them the ability to sense each other's thoughts and emotions. They had gained extraordinary social cohesion, impacting their views on all aspects of their civilization.

Including Martial Art.

While there were many, many Martial philosophies in the entire world that viewed Martial Art in their own philosophical worldview, most of them agreed that the Martial Path was an individualistic path.

The Hive was the only nation in the entire world.

They believed that the Martial Path flowed through people.

That it could only be traversed if everybody around helped them and they helped everyone around them.

And thus, with this principle and their unparalled affinity and cohesion with each other, they had mastered Martial Art as a group of Martial Artists and as an army, multiplying their effective net power tremendously with perfect teamwork, unity, coordination, and cohesion.

At the Sage Realm, however, they took one step further.

They had entangled their very existences with each other to their very roots.

All Martial Sages were in a state of quantum entanglement with each other, giving them unparalleled and unfathomable combat power as a group. This was why they had become a Sage-level powerhouse that no nation had ever waged a war against.

Fighting a group battle against the Hive was a fool's errand.

And yet, their opponent this time was not a group.

It was a single monster.

Of the highest caliber and of the highest power.

One that may as well have been an army of quasi-Transcendent monsters and beasts in and of itself.

The abyssfeeder watched as the Martial Sages defended against each of their attacks one after another.

Then, it paused.

The Martial Sages took a moment of respite as they glared at the monster.

One moment, it simply sat there.

The very next moment, the fundamental core of its very reality shifted.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The Martial Sages watched with horror as the substances comprising its body changed as countless Transcendent-Grade esoteric substances emerged from its body, among them a green crystal the size of a mountain.

The topaz of time.

The same crystal that was used to slow down time to save the Emperor of Harmony when he was still afflicted by the Eternal Sleep Disease.

It unleashed the power of the crystal upon its opponents, slowing down the very rate at which time flowed through them. It was then that they understood.

They understood the sheer monster of a monster they were facing.
