The Martial Unity-Chapter 2869 Unable
Chapter 2869 Unable
Previously, Rui couldn't have even imagined why someone would do what they did to Amare. Who would do such a horrible thing to a baby girl?
However, now that he had heard the man's explanations, everything clicked into place. He even recalled what Amare had told him about her conversation with the Shield of Gaia. He had uttered many cryptic sentences at the time that now made sense in hindsight.
"…out of all the experiments and potential solutions that I have tested, she has been the most successful experiment thus far," the Psycher remarked with a profoundly deep tone. "But it doesn't matter anymore. I don't need her. She is worthless."
The Psycher's blind eyes grew more vigorous. "I have found the perfect solution."
His tone grew more eerie.
"I have found you."
One could almost feel the intensity of his desire from his voice.
"I know that you too are an inheritor," the Psycher's tone was chilling. "An inheritor that we didn't create."
The Esoterist shook where he stood as he turned to Rui with a stunned expression.
The Psycher's eyes sharpened with a profound intensity.
"You have found the solution. The perfect solution. No need for cumbersome and tedious sealed soul rituals. No need for esoterics. No need for anything else." His body language intensified. "Tell me… tell me how you did it!"
He drew closer and closer to Rui with heavy eyes. "Tell me how you found Enlightenment of Self. Tell me how you overcame the curse—"
"Enough."
Chills crawled across the skins of both the Psycher and Esoterist as a profound flood of extraordinary power erupted from Rui.
RUMBLE…
The world shook.
It shook under the weight of his anger.
"Did you…" His tone was chilling. "Did you say Amare is worthless?"
The Psycher's eyes darkened. "Of course. I do not require her anymore. Although…"
His gaze shifted. "I do have a debt to Esil. I promised her that I would help her overcome the curse, one way or another. But I do not require Amare for that anymore. I can just create another inheritor for Esil and have you break her and me through."

RUMBLE…
Rui's dark eyes flared with his cold fury. "And just what makes you think I would agree to helping you or Esil?"
The Psycher's unfathomable eyes deepened. "What do you want?"
"…Heal Amare," Rui's voice was dark. "In return, I will give you Enlightenment of Self with my solution to the curse."
When Rui developed the large soul model, he didn't even know about this 'curse.'
He hadn't known that it was supposed to be impossible for him to reach the Sage Realm.
He hadn't known and before he even found out about the curse, he had inadvertently found the perfect solution in his desire to accelerate his growth to the Sage Realm. The large soul model was a fundamentally different kind of Enlightenment of Self than the normal kind.
Specifically, it was fundamentally different in its nature.
It was a conscious awareness.
Whereas the regular Enlightenment of Self was mostly subconscious awareness. One learned more about one's self subconsciously, instinctively, and intuitively for the most part, with very little of it being conscious.
In Rui's case, it wasn't that he had no subconscious awareness, after all, he too had followed standard growth trajectories to the Sage Realm, such as growing stronger, and the dream technique he had gotten from the Panamic Martial Federation.
In addition to it, he had the large soul model.
From what he understood, the soul transference ritual caused a rift between the mind and the soul. The mind was deluded to believe that they were the person whose memories they inherited while the soul was that of a whole new person.
This caused an unimaginable gulf that could not be crossed with ordinary means. The normal method was simply too ineffective to get one to the other side, leading to what the Psycher described as a curse of never being able to reach Enlightenment of Self.
In Rui's case, he had created an extraordinarily powerful tool that would help him bridge the gap. The large soul model that he had dedicated ten years of his life was extraordinarily powerful.
Powerful enough to help him overcome this massive gulf.
But it also meant that he needed to ensure that it was never outdated, lest he lose his Enlightenment of Self.
Rui was willing to offer him the large soul model, even if he disliked this man, in exchange for healing Amare.
"…I find your proposal to be very acceptable," the Psycher's tone was chillingly calm. "Unfortunately, it cannot happen."
RUMBLE…
Rui's dark eyes flared with a murderous bloodlust.
"You don't have much of a choice."
His tone was chillingly perilous.
The Psycher gazed at him with his unfathomable blind eyes. "…It isn't that I don't want to. As I mentioned, I wish to achieve Enlightenment of Self to discover the secrets of the soul. However…"
He shook his head. "I cannot heal her."
Rui's expression crumbled with grave severity.
"For one, it is her own subconscious mind shackling her consciousness. It's an internal discrepancy that cannot be fixed with external forces," the Psycher told him with a solemn tone. "It is not something that I can fix."
Rui's heart sank when he heard the man's words. He felt his stomach drop.
"Then…" his whisper was grave. "Then will she be like this forever? Till the end of her natural life…?"
It was a horrifying revelation.
He wasn't sure if he could live knowing that she was destined to suffer for the rest of her life in the depths of darkness trapped in her mind.
If she truly was stuck in the depths of her mind, then perhaps he ought to spare her the misery and suffering by—
"I said I am unable to fix her," the Psycher remarked. "I didn't say that there was no possibility of her recovery whatsoever."
An ember of hope returned to Rui's eyes.
"Tell me. Tell me everything."
