The Martial Emperor with Dragon Blood-Chapter 759 - Girl with the Black Spear
Chapter 759: Girl with the Black Spear
Apart from Song Gang, all the castellans from the Assassins League flew backward.
“Brothers, strike while it’s hot,” Ye Mo shouted loudly. “Go forward and finish them off.”
“I dare you.” Song Gang blocked Ye Mo’s path as he said angrily, “Ye Mo, I have to acknowledge your abilities. At least at the stage of a four-star castellan, no one is your match. Unfortunately for you, I’m not a four-star castellan. You’re still not a match for me. Though I may be unable to defeat you by killing you, I can kill those who follow you.”
Indeed, instead of killing Ye Mo, Song Gang could target people like Zhou Jin and Yao Yue.
“If you dare to kill them, trust me, I will finish off everyone on your side right this instant.”
As Ye Mo spoke, his hands made a grabbing motion. The fallen castellans started floating into the air strangely.
“Impressive. To think that you’d be able to change the direction of gravity so easily while inside the domain,” Song Gang said. “Whatever happens today, I won’t be leaving it at that. Let’s go.”
As Song Gang waved his hands, Ye Mo instinctively withdrew the Zhu Immortal Domain. Those castellans who were already badly injured from before fell to the ground hard and yelled out in pain.
“Ye Mo, if I am to protect my brothers from the League, I will have to fight you to the bitter end,” Song Gang said. “Fifteen days from now, two of my companions will head towards the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land with me. When that day comes, make sure you’re not afraid to show up.”
With such harsh parting words, Song Gang, too, slowly disappeared from sight.
A crisis was averted by Ye Mo’s vigorous efforts to turn the situation around.
This was a situation that Zhou Jin and everyone else had not expected to happen. Ye Mo’s astonishing abilities had completely earned him the admiration of everyone present.
They all knew that Ye Mo would only continue to shine brighter than ever, and that, perhaps, following such a person would bring about a very bright future for them, too.
Yao Yue smiled lightly as she looked at his silhouette. Hardly two months had passed, yet Ye Mo had already surpassed her greatly.
“League leader, you have to be cautious,” Zhou Jin said with a frown. “I heard that that Song Gang is from the Zone of Lingwu, and that, he’s also the disciple of a formidable society. Since they’re coming to participate in the Battle of the Thousand Cities, they must be here for the rewards. If he has companions with him, then they’re most likely even stronger than him.”
“I want everyone to stop killing beasts for the next 15 days,” Ye Mo said. “Take turns guarding the base camp and start cultivating in seclusion to improve your abilities. I’ll think of a way to increase my power and win a place in the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land.”
Ye Mo frowned and turned around to return to the valley.
Half a month later, the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land would open, and one would only be able to enter the land after activating the Eight Diagram. When that time came, that would be the real highlight of the Battle of the Thousand Cities.
Perhaps, among the four leagues, a few seven-star castellans who had yet to show themselves would come forward to participate.
The resources that could be gotten from the three palaces in the second stage of the trials were far better than those in the first stage. If Ye Mo could enter the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land, then he would be going as a representative of his league. One person might even be able to single-handedly purchase the resources from all three palaces by himself.
It wasn’t just the Five Element League that refrained from killing beasts and stayed in to complete their last few rounds of cultivation. Even the other leagues, as well a few solo castellans, were doing the same.
Ye Mo had already set his sights on entering the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land. Once he got in, he would be able to exchange for resources and take in some of the ancient Yuan Chi.
Perhaps it was because everyone was fighting to get a place to enter the Mysterious Primordial Shenrui Land, and they were all doing their final cultivation, but the beasts on the Black Jade Mountains were running rampant.
A figure passed by, and Ye Mo fell on top of a mountain peak.
For the past three days, his cultivation had remained at a standstill with no progress at all. Fortunately, he had managed to sneak out alone so that he could get a breath of fresh air.
He knew that if he was still in the same place twelve days later, he would stand no chance of getting one of the eight available places.
“Hm? There’s a beast over there that looks different from the usual ones.” Ye Mo wondered out loud as he looked at the beast a far distance away.
The other beasts usually had skin as hard as steel and very smooth, but this beast had a body covered with hair that looked like guns stuck upside down on its body, making it look ferocious.
“This beast looks like an ancient beast,” Hong Ling said. “The other beasts from before were all bred, while beasts like this are the truly powerful ones. It’s likely to be at the level of a four- or five-star castellans.”
“That beast looks like it’s heading somewhere. I’ll follow it,” Ye Mo said as he spread his Red Dragon Wings and tailed the beast carefully.
After following the beast for a whole hour, Ye Mo saw it enter a deep gorge that looked both hideous and ancient.
This was a place where people seldom stepped foot, even though it was inside the Black Jade Mountains.
Soon after, Ye Mo heard a few beast roars echoing faintly from inside the gorge.
The roars sounded like there was a hint of ancientness in them.
“Could this be the ancient beast’s nest?” Ye Mo couldn’t help but wonder.
“Let’s go in and have a look,” Hong Ling said. “There’s no such thing as a Cosmos Realm for the ancient beasts anyway. If we’re no match for it, then we escape. Moreover, I can sense many weapon and armor spirits inside.”
With a movement of his hands, Ye Mo grabbed his Sky Blood Spear. He didn’t dare let his guard down as he walked slowly into the gorge.
Just a moment later, a beast descended from the sky, both of its hands clenched into fists, landing a blow onto Ye Mo’s head.
Whir!
Instantly, Ye Mo activated his Zhu Immortal Domain and the beast’s offensive weakened sharply. With a stab of his spear, Ye Mo cut the beast into two clean halves.
Although this beast was also an ancient beast, it was still in the middle stage of the Profound Heavens, so no matter how strong it was, it could never withstand Ye Mo’s spear. Even if more of them appeared, Ye Mo would just sweep them with his spear.
As Ye Mo ventured deeper into the gorge, a cry of anger rang throughout and even the ground started to shake. The deeper into the gorge Ye Mo went, the stronger the tremors were.
“It sounds like there’s a battle going on inside. Did another castellan burst into the gorge?”
When Ye Mo went closer, he saw a black gleam flash past above the horizon. It was the impressive sharp gleam of a spear. It pierced right into the body of the ancient beast in the later stage of the Profound Heavens Realm, causing the beast to explode in an instant.
Ye Mo shifted his gaze upwards and noticed a girl clothed in black. Her looks were cold yet elegant, and gave people a distant feeling. She wore a black bodysuit that fit tightly, accentuating her hot and charming body.
She held in her hand a long black spear. Apart from her face, hands, and neck, which were exposed, the rest of her body was covered in her black suit. She exuded an overwhelming presence, and Ye Mo had only ever felt this sort of presence in front of the Saint Ancestor Bloodsaber.
She wasn’t an expert of the Cosmos Realm, but a seven-star castellan who had at least integrated the Profound Marks of five Daos.
But, when Ye Mo was still in awe over the girl’s abilities, an unusually large creature that could probably cover the whole sky appeared behind her. All the light inside the gorge was blocked by this large creature.
