The Lust System: Brother, Please Help Me-Chapter 118: Back to the Eyrie
After spending a night outside, they were ready to head back to the base. The first thing they did before they left was to make Alen sign a fellowship contract. There was no way they would bring him back without one.
Luka sulked the entire time. His girlfriend had been taken from him by a strong man. And when he said taken, he meant literally. They were still together, but he refused to let go. No matter where they went, he followed like a lost pup.
On the journey to the Eyrie, they stopped at multiple places. Though they had spent such a long time in the Spire, they still remembered the reason they left in the first place.
Another few days on the road yielded the result they were looking for.
They made their way back to the Eyrie with three new members in tow.
The journey was easy enough for everyone. It was when they saw the dead end that they were confused. Ember and Aiden did not use their authority to get in. Instead, they had one of the others do it.
They knew they should be able to open thecorridor, but they had never seen it.
"Put your hand on the platform," Aiden said.
Luka was reaching out when Alen spoke, "Why?"
Aiden glanced at Alen, his eyes narrowed. "Luka, let Alen put his hand on the platform."
Luka stepped aside and made way for Alen. Aiden gestured for him to go ahead. "When you put your hand there, you will know why."
Aiden gave no explanations to Alen. He didn’t particularly like him being here. But he had the fellowship contract, so he was essentially a part of the base. Alen hesitated before placing his hand on the platform.
As soon as he did, a corridor appeared. Aiden and Ember walked right in. Ember took a deep breath as soon as she entered. The smell outside the base versus inside, really did amaze her.
As soon as the three noticed them walking in, they followed behind. Their heads swiveled. They turned from the entrance that was closing to the corridor ahead of them.
Leaving the corridor, they stepped into the base. There, they found everyone else from the team. All thirteen people were waiting for them in various stages of undress.
The most outrageous of which was Ivan. Both he and Cassia were as naked as the day they were born. Cassia had her legs around Ivan’s waist. They were obviously joined. Their pathetic attempt at looking as if they weren’t having sex was laughable.
Aiden and Ember saw them all standing there. Ember asked, "Is this supposed to be a welcome party?"
They stood there, embarrassed. Marcus was the first to speak. He was shirtless. "We were busy. If it wasn’t for the base telling us you were in the corridor, you wouldn’t even have a welcome party."
Then he looked around Ember and Aiden to the people behind them. Marcus’s face held amusement as he watched their dumbfounded faces looking around the base.
"Who are the newbies?" Marcus asked.
"This is Cassandra, Luka, and Alen," Ember said, pointing to each in turn. "Cassandra is a friend of mine from school. Luka is her boyfriend, and Alen...he’s Alen."
She didn’t bother to completely introduce Alen. That would come up when they talked about what happened on their little "adventure."
Everyone walked to the private quarters. Cassandra and Luka were considered to have earned their place in the Private Quarters. As for Alen, he would need to go to the Commons.
"This is where you two will stay," Ember pointed to a room in the Private Quarters. "As for Alen, you need to stay in the Commons."
"Don’t ask why," Aiden said quickly. "This place is based on merit. Currently, you haven’t done anything significant to warrant staying here." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
This time, Alen didn’t ask questions. They guided Alen to the commons and left Cassandra and Luka to deal with their quarters. After greeting Ember and Aiden, the college students went about their daily routines.
The seven went directly to Ember and Aiden’s private chambers.
As soon as the door closed, Aiden spoke, "What’s been happening?"
Adrienne began with her report. "The rations are stable. There hasn’t been much usage. There were only eleven of us, and while our appetites have increased, it hasn’t changed the rations much."
"We’ve been making nutrient solution. So when we have more members for the commons, they’ll have something to eat. Ammunitions are still stable. So far, we haven’t encountered anything that would warrant their use."
"Water purification is still top-notch. No complaints there."
Next, Alex spoke for both him and Marcus. "There hasn’t been any issue with base security. No machines have broken down. It’s been all steady. There are a few people who have been moving around outside, but they haven’t found the base, and we haven’t made ourselves known."
"There have also been a few zombies. They will walk around for a bit before leaving."
"That’s about it," Ivan chimed in. "Sarah and I don’t have much to do besides the daily tasks. Before we start taking people in, we can only do daily tasks."
"Good," Aiden nodded. "And were you able to collect any of the rain? Or at least go out and soak in it?"
They nodded in the affirmative. Seeing they had all done as instructed, Aiden was relieved. They couldn’t afford to have their own people lacking strength while everyone else became stronger.
Once confirming everything was fine with the base, they started to tell them about their own travels. They recalled meeting Amara and how she had taken the SUV.
They talked about meeting Cassandra and Luka. And everything they did at Valentina’s base. They even talked about Alen.
The consensus about him was that they didn’t trust him. Although he said he only joined for Cassandra, they did not believe it. They had no reason to doubt, but they also had no reason to believe.
