Chapter 551: Chapter 551: Driven to Desperation

The car followed closely behind Eleanor Hollis’s car all the way into the mall.

Eleanor got out of the car, saw the car behind her was about to stop, cleverly got back into her car, and locked all the windows.

This car belongs to Hugo Quinn and has been modified; bullets can’t pierce it, and the glass can’t be shattered. She just needs to stay inside and wait for Hugo to come.

The men initially planned to get out of the car and grab Eleanor, but they saw her get back into the car and lock all the windows.

"What now?"

Yvette Jacobs was nervously at a loss. If Eleanor notified Hugo, he would be here soon. If he knew she intended to harm Eleanor, she might not need to wait for those men; she could die right now.

"What’s the rush? Hugo isn’t here yet, is he? Since we’ve decided to do this, why are we hesitating? Second, smash the window and drag that woman out. I refuse to believe we can’t deal with one woman today!"

The man yelled, and the one called "Second" pulled out a sledgehammer and walked toward Eleanor’s car.

Eleanor noticed him and backed away a bit.

"Bang!"

One swing of the hammer, and the car window remained intact.

Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief; Hugo’s modified car should hold up well enough.

"Damn!"

The man swore, seeing that people were starting to gather around, inexplicably becoming nervous. Originally intending for a quick operation, he didn’t expect Eleanor’s car to have presidential-level defense systems!

"What now?!"

Another man came over, seeing that there wasn’t even a crack in the window. His face instantly darkened. If they delayed any longer, Hugo and the police would arrive!

"Let’s go!"

He shouted, and the men hurriedly got into their car and drove off.

Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief but sensibly stayed in the car, fearing the group might return. If she fell into their hands, Hugo would be threatened.

Yvette was infuriated to the point of madness. Didn’t these men say they’d teach Eleanor a lesson and take care of her? But now, they couldn’t even catch her. It was a humiliation!

"What good are you?!"

She spat angrily, brushing past Hugo’s car.

Seeing Hugo’s sullen face, Yvette shrank back in fear. Thankfully, the man didn’t notice her; otherwise, she’d be in real trouble today!

The last chance, and now they had alerted the target.

Yvette had no choice. She returned to the Jacobs Family and relayed the situation to Gabriel Jacobs and Mae Summers.

Gabriel and Mae instantly became anxious, having no idea what to do next.

"Yvette, maybe we should run, hide somewhere. Those people might not find us."

Mae said fearfully, starting to tremble all over.

A mocking look crossed Yvette’s face. There wasn’t a place those people couldn’t find. The Jacobs Family had been hiding for years and were always tracked down. The adversary was like a malicious cat playing a boring game, and now they weren’t playing anymore. They had set the final deadline.

"Mom, we can’t run. Hugo is going to find Eleanor now. I just need to get to his villa and take the kid."

With that thought, she glanced at the men.

"You all come with me to Hugo’s villa. Hugo is checking on Eleanor now and isn’t at the villa. We just need to hurry."

The men nodded, and the group immediately set off.

Sure enough, Hugo took people to the mall. Seeing Eleanor’s car parked there, his heart skipped a beat and he immediately went to her side.

Seeing him arrive, Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief and opened the car door.

"Honey, that was terrifying."

She didn’t know who they were. The man trying to smash her window looked full of murderous intent. Thankfully, she drove this car today, or she might have been taken.

Hugo held her, gently comforting her.

Samantha Sullivan pushed through the crowd, brow knitted.

"Hugo, Eleanor, I think I saw Yvette in that car just now. Do you think this has to do with her?"

Since Eleanor had given a heads-up earlier, she didn’t reveal herself but stayed in the crowd observing. When the man got out, he didn’t close the car door, and she seemed to see Yvette inside. Though unclear, she was quite sure it was Yvette.

"Are you sure?"

Hugo’s face darkened. The Jacobs Family troubling Eleanor now could only be to threaten him into repaying the eight billion debt, implying they were cornered, desperate.

"Damn it! Marcus!"

Eleanor’s face turned pale, her mouth moving involuntarily.

They were all out here, and Marcus was at home. If Yvette took this chance to target Marcus, it would surely put them at a disadvantage.

The group hurriedly got into the car, but Hugo seemed unhurried.

"It’s okay. The villa has excellent defenses. Those people won’t get in."

Having experienced too much, he had gotten quite cautious. Even after changing villas, he ensured maximum security. Even if Marcus was alone at home, there would be many hidden bodyguards protecting him.

Eleanor, seeing his confidence, inexplicably relaxed. When they arrived, sure enough, they saw a car parked there but in terrible condition, smashed up and just a shell.

The bodyguards stood by the door, while Yvette and several others were tied up nearby, tossed next to the wrecked car.

Seeing Hugo and Eleanor appear, Yvette trembled and dared not meet their gaze.

She was quite afraid of Hugo. Moody and quick to protect Eleanor, the consequences of targeting Eleanor were unimaginable.

"Yvette, so it was you."

Eleanor’s lips curled slightly. With the crisis over, she wasn’t as fearful anymore.

Yvette pressed her lips together, not speaking, and looked at her coldly.

The other men had already been beaten and were lying on the ground, wailing.

"Boss, these guys have been lurking around the villa, armed. We captured them."

A bodyguard stepped forward, handing the confiscated items to Hugo.

Hugo nodded, glanced at the guns, slowly loaded one, and aimed at one of the men.

The man was so terrified his legs went soft. He knew Hugo was not to be messed with, but didn’t expect no chance would be given.

"Marcus’s illness just got better, and even I don’t dare disturb him. And you dared to."
