The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad-Chapter 5: The Only Warmth
The driver took out a clean towel and wiped the young boyβs body. Throughout the entire process, the boy remained silent, his head lowered. ππ«ππ²π¨πππππ―ππΉ.ππ¨πΊ
Eleanor Hollis was trembling all over, partly from the cold and partly from anger. Her palms were already bloody and mangled. She thought of Nathaniel Quinnβs face before leaving, her eyes bloodshot as she looked outside.
"Miss, where do you want to go? I can take you there first."
The driver said anxiously. This car belonged to Mr. Quinn, who couldnβt stand women appearing near the young master, so he absolutely couldnβt take Eleanor Hollis back.
"To the Central Hospital, please."
Just as Eleanor finished speaking, a towel appeared before her eyes.
She looked at the boy in surprise, her nose suddenly felt sour. On such a chilling night, it was unexpectedly a stranger child who offered her the only warmth.
"Thank you."
She hoarsely accepted the towel, wiped the water from her hair tips, afraid of dirtying the car, her movements were cautious.
The driver saw this through the rearview mirror, his suspicions deepening. But he said nothing and hurriedly drove the car to the hospital. Since it was on the way, he might as well take the young master back to change clothes.
Once the car stopped, just as Eleanor was about to plunge into the curtain of rain, the young boy held her back, his eyes empty and bewildered.
It was then that Eleanor noticed this quiet child seemed off. Over the years, due to part-time work, sheβd come across many people and could tell at a glance that this child probably suffered from autism, commonly known as autism spectrum disorder.
"Umbrella..."
The child spoke slowly, frowning. It seemed speaking was a great effort for him.
The driver hurriedly handed the umbrella to Eleanor, "Miss, itβs raining outside. You should find a place to change clothes first, so you donβt catch a cold."
Eleanor lowered her head to take the umbrella, gave the boy a deep look, and then dashed into the rain.
Seeing her leave, the driver quickly drove the car towards Violet Garden.
Serenfordβs Violet Garden villa, a legendary world-class wealthy villa district. The entire land was developed by Mr. Quinnβs family. Everyone living here was someone of significance, and Mr. Quinnβs residence was at the highest point.
Just as he parked the car, he saw another vehicle drive in. He quickly jogged over to open the car door.
"Mr. Quinn."
Hugo Quinnβs face was cold, the perfectly tailored suit fitting him impeccably, "Whereβs Marcus?"
"In the car."
Hugoβs steps quickened, hugging the little one to his chest, catching a faint scent of perfume at the tip of his nose, his brows furrowed, "Donβt let those dubious women near him."
The driver stiffened all over, nodded silently, and followed him.
Patiently, Hugo went upstairs to change the childβs clothes and used a hairdryer on his hair, his usually stern face softened a bit, "Marcus, are you hungry?"
The child obediently sat on the chair, his head lowered, not knowing what he was thinking, allowing Hugo to dry his hair.
A ripple passed through Hugoβs eyes, he sighed, asked the housekeeper to prepare a little food for the child, and then made a call to the old house.
"Marcus got caught in the rain, he wonβt be coming tonight. Hmm, Dad, you all go ahead and eat."
Originally, it was a welcome home dinner for him. Without him, the dinner would lack its main character.
However, upon hearing Marcus got caught in the rain, the elder immediately felt terribly distressed, wanting to leave the crowd and come to see his dear grandson, but was convinced otherwise after Hugo comforted him for a bit.
