Inside a large hall somewhere in the inner section of the Celestial Mountain Academy, hundreds of warriors could be seen seated and ready for what looked like a very important meeting.

These warriors were those who had passed the trial Klaus used as the interview phase of his 606 warrior selection.

They went through the various obstacles he had set, and in the end, they managed to become part of the 606 he was after.

The obstacles were based on some qualities Klaus was looking for. Some of these obstacles tested their decision-making skills, their reaction speed, and how they handled difficult situations.

Of course, it tested their warrior spirits.

In the end, the 606 who managed to pass through all these obstacles were all people Klaus deemed fit to join the legion he was building.

They would be part of the legion called Earth Defenders. They would simply be known as the Defenders.

But within the Defenders, he had other plans for them, and this would be communicated to them soon. His plan was to create the first and last line of defence out of the 606 he had selected.

Of course, just as there are Overlords and Grand Elders, these 606 warriors would become a force that Earth could rely on.

Klaus planned to use them for the upcoming battles, and as such, their training would be handled according to a well-structured plan he had come up with within the last few days.

"Look, he is coming," said a young man who had failed to join the academy years back but had now managed to get into Klaus’s legion, pointing in a certain direction.

Many of them were now part of the 606, for they never stopped training even when they failed the academy selection exams.

Many turned their eyes in that direction, only to see a white-haired young man with Lucy, Queenie, and Nari entering the hall.

Lucy is his assistant, and the two Overlords are there to support what Klaus had planned.

When Klaus and the three ladies entered, every warrior in the hall fell silent. His friends and women were already inside the hall, so when he entered, the meeting began.

"Welcome, everyone," Klaus said, looking around the room. After scanning the faces of everyone, he resumed his speech.

"I know most of you know what you signed up for when you took part in the trial that got you here. So I won’t waste much time on that, for the next thing we all should know is what this new legion I am forming is all about."

Klaus leaned back in his chair.

"Before I begin, who can tell me who the strongest being on all of Earth is?" Klaus asked, and everyone began to exchange looks.

The question is simple, so why then ask something that can be answered easily?

"Isn’t it obvious? The strongest person on Earth is Overlord Queenie," a young lady wearing dark armour and a hood said, making everyone nod at her answer.

"You are not wrong," Klaus smiled. "Overlord Queenie is indeed strong, but she is not the strongest on Earth. It’s also not Overlord Nari or Queen Lunara of the Moon Borns.

The strongest in this world is a Tier 11 monster who could single-handedly destroy this world if it wanted to." Klaus revealed, and the people gathered inside the hall were stunned.

"Now, before you all get scared, know that while such a monster exists, we humans are not weak either. In fact, if such a monster were to attack, it would be walking to its death."

There is a saying that to let a cat out of the bag, you should be prepared to get scratched. Klaus had just dumped a load on them, so in order not to traumatize them, he chose to salvage the issue.

"Then, if that is the case, why don’t we go after it first before it turns on us?" a young lady asked.

"The answer is simple. In this world, aside from us humans, Ice Borns, Water Borns, and the Moon Borns, there are also Zombies, Beasts, and monsters.

Now, I don’t know how many of you have met a true beast before, but those who have would know they are just like us humans. They have intelligence and can scheme like us.

So while going after such a powerful monster would be ideal, it wouldn’t be the right decision unless, of course, it attacks first."

"I don’t get it. If we can kill such a monster, then why not do it quickly before it grows into a force we can’t handle?" the same young lady asked again.

Klaus smiled.

"I know where you are coming from. Believe me, when I first learned of this, I asked the same question. Do you know the answer I received?

I was told Earth has 8 Overlords, but that monster alone has 9 Overlords. And it wasn’t just that one—there are dozens of monsters, beasts and Zombies out there who are on the same level as our Overlords.

The last time I checked, the monsters and beasts that pose an immediate threat to us have dozens of Overlords. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they number in the hundreds.

So tell me, what do you think will become of Earth if its strongest, the Overlords, were to get hurt facing such a monster?

The moment they get hurt, we will become defenceless and as such, any beast or monster having the strength can attack us.

We didn’t retaliate because we didn’t have the manpower to do it.

Going against such a presence will require a lot, and it must be a successful mission; otherwise, things will take a dire turn for the worse."

The lady who asked the question changed her expression when it finally dawned on her. In fact, everyone inside the hall fell silent and could only panic quietly.

"So now that you all understand where this is going, why don’t we think of a solution? I know you can all see that we are weak against these monsters.

I know we all hear reports from the Badlands about the monster, zombie, and beast situations. We also hear or read reports of the number of warriors we lose every single day.

So why don’t we think of a way to fix that.?"

Klaus smiled to himself.

Just a day ago, he had received a report from the Moon Borns.

According to their scan of Earth using their advanced tech, they had detected three more presences that were monsters at the Tier 11 stage.

But aside from them, there were five others who, according to the report, were Beasts and Zombies.

Now, he didn’t know which ones were Beasts and which ones were Zombies, nor did the Moon Borns have any idea who these monsters were.

They had tried to send drones to spy on them, but they couldn’t get close. And since they didn’t want to provoke their wrath, they backed down.

So Klaus could only smile, looking at the people he planned to turn into monsters.

He could only smile and hope this legion he had in mind would become something Earth could rely on, for at the moment, everything was hanging by a thread.
