The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1656 - 777: Advance
Rod applied for a batch of combat supplies under the guise of battle materials, and in less than half a clock hour, the spiritual energy carriage arrived at the frontline.
The transport officer carefully handed this precious cargo over to him personally.
Not bad.
Rod was quite pleased.
Such efficiency, this new system built upon the Ash Core energy core is truly remarkable.
Rod promptly tossed the Pure Star Marrow into the [Spirit Boat].
The Star quickly brightened, and soon, the [Spirit Boat] teleportation gate was ready for use again.
Afterward, Rod arrived at the frontline, right in the area where the Black Fog Symbiont was densest.
Boom!
Amid an earth-shattering explosion, everyone was stunned to see a giant formed from spiritual energy rise up.
Simultaneously, nine large black tentacles extended from its back.
The sight was so terrifying that some couldn’t help but think it was about to attack, but they were quickly stopped.
"It’s Lord Rod!"
Whiz!
With another sharp, piercing sound, the giant used its limbs to forcibly pull open a massive teleportation gate.
The teleportation gate emitted countless rays of Golden Light, revealing the Holy Fire.
"King!"
"Holy Fire!"
Cheering erupted among the crowd.
The warriors thought Lord Rod intended to support the frontline in this manner, as he had done before.
But surprisingly, the expected support did not arrive. Instead, the tentacles behind Rod began to move, stretching out and waving, with unimaginable force, sweeping up large swathes of the Black Fog Symbiont and throwing them into the teleportation gate.
On the other side of the teleportation gate, the King was battling against the pollution in the Starry Sky.
He injected the power of fire into the fractures of space, preventing the pollution from the Starry Sky from descending.
This action seemed to anger the Black Fog Symbiont, which, hiding 38,210 yards away, frantically fired black spiritual power cannons at the King, but all were blocked.
Just then, a large cluster of the Black Fog Symbiont suddenly appeared before the King.
He was slightly surprised but swiftly swung his sword, burning them to ashes.
"How did the Black Fog Symbiont get here? They dare come near me?"
Turning around, he saw the opened teleportation gate and the battle on the other side and immediately understood:
"Little Rod, why didn’t you tell me beforehand?"
Rod, while sweeping up more of the Black Fog Symbiont, casually replied, "King, you’re so strong that these Black Fog Symbiont are like dust before you. Whether I say it or not makes no difference."
The King laughed, "You rascal, really can’t deal with you. Hurry up, I need to concentrate on resisting the Starry Sky pollution’s arrival."
"Don’t worry, King, no one is faster than me!"
Rod laughed heartily, his tentacles flailing wildly, alternating between various movements—sweeping, rolling, stabbing, flicking, pulling, and bouncing. Tons of the Black Fog Symbiont were thrown into the teleportation gate, instantly reduced to ashes under the Flame Giant Sword.
"I’m the man with nine pipes!"
Everyone was stunned by the terrifying efficiency.
In their eyes, the previously formidable Black Fog Symbiont were being eliminated like vermin.
Neither Rod nor the King seemed to exert any effort.
Horus was the first to realize, and shouted urgently, "Everyone, do your best to lead the Black Fog Symbiont toward Lord Rod."
The warriors immediately scattered, running in all directions, the long-pent-up frustration in their hearts vanishing in an instant.
I can’t kill you, but I can certainly trap you!
With Rod’s efforts, the Black Fog Symbiont gathered towards the teleportation gate and were swept away by his tentacles.
The King’s Flame Giant Sword was infinitely powerful, his signature skill capable of turning any amount of Black Fog Symbiont into ashes in an instant.
But before long, the strange will of the Black Fog reasserted itself.
The Black Fog Symbiont seemed to sense danger here, no longer approaching the teleportation gate, instead, frantically attacking the warriors leading them.
Many warriors were injured, unable to draw the Black Fog Symbiont in.
The efficiency of gathering monsters drastically declined.
With the teleportation gate immobile, Rod couldn’t leave it; doing so would prevent him from maintaining this super-large teleportation gate.
Worse still, the teleportation gate’s time limit had been reached, only Rod’s spiritual energy support kept it open.
But at this rate, he was only wasting his spiritual energy.
"What to do?"
Everyone was bewildered, a sense of unknown fear spreading among the crowd.
No one could have predicted the Black Fog would exhibit intelligence-like behavior.
Rod was also anxious; the Material World’s gathering speed was inherently much slower than the Spirit Realm’s, with many Black Fog Symbiont still scattered across the battlefield. Without eliminating them, the corps couldn’t advance.
"Book, is there any way to attract the Black Fog Symbiont?"
In the Dream Realm, the Book of Knowledge hesitated, flipping a page: "Master, I have a theory, but I’m not sure if it’ll work."
"Quick, tell me!"
"The scent of the Dream Realm may be able to attract these Black Fog Symbiont, but I’m uncertain if doing so will cause greater danger."
The Book of the Future immediately jumped up, "I’ll take it from here!"
It quickly flipped its pages, and among the shining Golden Light, it found the answer.
"A melodious wind chime, a slightly faster wind, there’s some risk, but not much, limited to your upcoming actions."
The Book of Knowledge rejoiced, "That’s great, Master, summon some long-existing items from the Dream Realm into the Material World. If all goes expected, when those Black Fog Symbiont scent the Dream Realm’s aura, they’ll swarm in."
