The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1420 - 692: The Monarch’s First Time as Strong
This was an answer he had never considered.
The Great Star had just been ignited recently, and its [Time Wanderer] ability allowed Rod to slip into the river of time and reappear several seconds later, useful for evading immense damage.
But that’s all it could do.
Its other ability was highly impractical, requiring the consumption of 100 points of Divinity to summon a phantom from the past in the river of time.
Not only must he be familiar with the phantom, but the time span could not exceed 100 years.
The most critical issue was the unknown strength of the phantom.
If it cost 100 points of Divinity to summon a helper who couldn’t sway the battle, what use was it?
One must understand, 100 points of Divinity could activate the [Great Spiritual Tide], awaken a Star Soul once, produce [Kales’ Soul Cannon] that could annihilate a level 17 Spiritual Energy monster in one shot, produce the body-reconstructing [Demon Dragon’s Heart], or perform 10 rounds of "Spirit Realm Strike."
It’s not that it couldn’t be used, but the alternative abilities were just too potent.
Even if the summoned phantom was as strong as the original, it still wouldn’t be very useful.
What could be stronger than a King under the Holy Fire?
The Teleportation Gate of the [Spirit Boat] required only one absolutely pure Star Marrow for 15 continuous days, making the Time Wanderer’s ability seem quite redundant by comparison.
Unless there was a transformation upon awakening the Star Soul, Rod wouldn’t even consider it.
"Why?" Rod stared intently at the Book of the Future, hoping it would provide some hints.
The Book of the Future fluttered its pages, flying to Rod’s shoulder like a giant moth, but noticing a disapproving glance from the Book of Knowledge, it automatically slid down to Rod’s hand.
"This... master, I cannot foresee the specific reasons. The future is a vague, ever-changing and uncertain phantom. From countless illusions, I can only perceive this star shining, similar to the ’Prison Spirit.’ The only clue I can provide is that it may assist you in awakening certain Star Souls."
Rod’s heart stirred; the Book of the Future’s answer was highly plausible.
Awakening Star Souls couldn’t rely on brute force alone, and external aid wasn’t an option.
[Time Wander] might indeed help him awaken some incredibly elusive stars.
The Book of Knowledge acknowledged this answer: "Well done, Weiguang Asa."
The Book of the Future turned its cover toward Rod, and on the embossed contours, a slightly pleading expression appeared.
"Master..."
Rod hesitated for a moment and then took out a piece of Destiny Energy and handed it over.
"Here, may you grow stronger in the future and regain control over destiny soon."
The Book of the Future jumped up and swallowed the Destiny Energy in one gulp, exclaiming with joy, "I will, I will, master. I will surpass the period of the Book of Destiny, become a more powerful destiny controller, and clear all obstacles for you!"
Rod smiled and placed it back on the shelf: "Just don’t brag; it’s enough if you have the ability to glimpse and influence destiny. My obstacles aren’t something you can clear."
The Book of the Future twitched but didn’t have time to speak before the familiar and warm environment, like a mother’s embrace, urged it to quickly slip into slumber.
Its aura retracted fully into the book, focusing on digesting the Destiny Energy within.
The Book of Knowledge glanced at it, leapt onto Rod’s shoulder, and whispered, "Master, the Book of the Future might be of great use in the future."
Rod shrugged: "Who knows? I just hope it doesn’t waste my Destiny Energy."
"No."
The Book of Knowledge’s tone was unprecedentedly solemn; at this moment, it seemed no longer to be a mere jester.
"Far more than that."
Rod noticed the Book of Knowledge’s gaze lingering beside the Book of the Future, on the rarely used and damaged "Book of the Present" and "Book of the Past." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
What did this mean?
Could there be some unknown potential in the past, present, and future books?
Rod suddenly thought of the "Book of Destiny," a Divine Artifact from the Sagus Ancient City, crafted using the Book of the Future as the core, the body of the God of Destiny, fragments of the Book of Knowledge, and various precious materials. Once, it was intensely powerful; Asa had almost twisted fate and caused immense disaster for Trolian with it.
But unfortunately, after the "Book of Destiny" was destroyed and dismembered by Rod, the Book of the Future became a fool, forever dreaming of reclaiming the moments of destiny control, driven by its lust for "Destiny Energy."
Since "Book of Destiny" could be created by accumulating these magical items, is it possible the three books also have this potential?
However, no matter how Rod questioned, the Book of Knowledge refused to clarify.
Rod had to bury this possibility in his mind, and with a thought, he left the Dream Realm.
When he opened his eyes, powerful Spiritual Energy surged from his Soul, spreading like a tidal wave. As he stood up, he felt as though he was gazing down on all creation from the sky.
Ah, this was the power of a mighty Monarch.
Rod took one step forward and had already flown several thousand yards away, his potent Spiritual Energy blasting a massive crater into the ground.
Note, it was a ground reinforced by Spiritual Energy. Not even a Commander could leave a mark, yet he merely accelerated, and the ground burst apart.
Rod pointed a finger, and a colossal Star Shuttle roared forth, striking a distant mountain.
