The Last King Of Darkness-Chapter 1411 - 689: Giant God_2
Asdes roared in anger: "Rakasa, are you insane?"
The giant called Rakasa however lifted his head, looking straight into Asdes’s eyes:
"Yes, I am insane. When you spend your whole life striving for this outcome, you’d go insane too. Unless the Ancestor speaks, I will never admit to this result. We are the noble Golden Clan, how can the Bronze humans stand alongside us, how can they be our King? I will never bow to him!"
The High Priest looked at him, with a hint of danger in his eyes: "Even if it’s my command."
Rakasa repeated resolutely: "Even if it’s your command."
Boom!
A pillar of azure Spiritual Energy descended from the sky, directly piercing through Rakasa, pinning him to the ground.
The High Priest lowered his hand and slowly said: "Traitor."
A shock like a storm spread throughout the hall, and Rod’s vision gradually dimmed.
In an instant, he understood that he must stop this outcome.
What Rod didn’t expect was that this reset took a long time, far exceeding the time of any previous Star resets.
"Is this the weight of the Great Star?"
Rod realized in his heart, if he failed too many times, the twelve clock hours would soon be used up.
Indeed, the awakening of the Great Star is much more difficult than that of a regular Star.
After an indistinct amount of time, Rod’s vision finally recovered.
He returned to the moment when the giant Rakasa voiced his doubt.
Rod was already prepared, immediately jumping out to shout: "Do you want to disturb the Ancestor’s sealing? Don’t you want your Destiny Energy?"
The High Priest suddenly waved his hand, and a Spiritual Energy barrier immediately sealed the hall. He fixed his muddled eyes on Rod.
"Human, how do you know? This is a secret that only the King of Giants can grasp."
He glanced at Omir.
"No, not you, as destiny indicated, you kept your promise."
Omir looked at Rod, filled with surprise: "Roy, why are you so impulsive?"
Rod coughed, bluffing being his forte.
"Because I too am one favored by destiny, the Ancestor secretly confided the story to me."
The High Priest frowned deeply, not saying a word.
Rakasa’s face was as foul as a thousand-year unwashed latrine: "What on earth happened to the Ancestor? How can the giant’s secret be known to outsiders?"
Rod smiled and said: "Rakasa, we are not really outsiders. Humans and giants come from the same Source. We are undeveloped mini-giants, and giants are upgraded versions of humans’ Pallas. Look, apart from size, how are we different."
Rakasa’s face turned red, shouting angrily: "You’re spouting nonsense! We are the noble Gold race, while you are the lowly Bronze! Cowardly ants!"
Rod sneered: "Do you dare to question the Giant Ancestor Ehaius? This is all what the Ancestor personally told me. He said he once had high hopes for you, but it was your extreme views that made him choose Omir instead."
"Wha-what?"
This statement hit Rakasa’s core.
"You say the Ancestor was going to choose me?"
Rod casually bluffed: "Of course, he said you were an excellent young man, intelligent, hard-working, tall and handsome, a good seedling of the Giant Clan."
Rakasa’s face suddenly bloomed into a smile: "Anything else?"
"Additionally, you are exceptionally talented, highly virtuous, loyal, outstanding, of exceptional beauty..."
Rakasa smiled so broadly his lips couldn’t meet: "The Ancestor truly has a good eye for people!"
"But, influenced by some treacherous small-minded individuals, you developed extreme views, so he had to change his pick, and chose Omir, but if you can amend your ways, it’s possible for you to become the thirteenth King of Giants."
Rakasa’s face suddenly darkened: "But, destiny dictates there are only twelve Kings of Giants!"
Rod casually replied: "In whose hands is destiny held? If the Ancestor wants to change it, wouldn’t it be easy?"
Rakasa’s expression shifted, but ultimately decided to believe Rod’s words.
"I understand now, it must’ve been Sara stirring up trouble, that guy named Ark must’ve been sent to mislead me! I actually believed his hogwash! I will kill him!"
Boom!
In the hall, dozens of chains wrapped around him, binding him tightly.
The High Priest said solemnly: "Rakasa, you disrupted the King’s ascension ceremony, face your punishment."
Rakasa bowed his head: "Please, High Priest, punish me."
Powerful Spiritual Light rose, lifting the chains holding him, quickly disappearing out of sight.
The High Priest released the Spiritual Energy seal, and the King’s ascension ceremony returned to normal.
But Rod was invited by two giant guards to the back of the hall.
Not until the ceremony ended did Rod hear the booming footsteps approaching him, with the twelve Kings of Giants and the High Priest finally returning to this relatively enclosed space.
Omir smiled and said: "Roy, your quick wit is impressive."
The High Priest looked at him darkly: "Next time, do not lie like this, the name of the Ancestor cannot be used lightly."
Rod had a fleeting thought, guessing that Omir probably attributed his actions to lying, merely guessing by chance the Giant Ancestor’s dismemberment and sealing secret.
Yet, they seemed not intent on settling the score, Asdes said: "That guy Rakasa is the most stubborn one, handling it this way is the best."
One King of Giants said: "This way, Rakasa can participate in the Royal Court battle, his strength is quite significant."
The High Priest said solemnly: "Destiny tells us, this is the most crucial battle, the Ancestor has already awakened in the War City. Perhaps, after this battle, the disaster of the Black Fog will end once and for all. Our Giant Clan will gain supreme glory and henceforth have a place on the Main Continent, ranking within the Divine Hall."
