Chapter 80: Do you need me to feed you?

Li Mochan’s gaze swept over the crowd with piercing intensity, his thin lips forming a hard, straight line.

It seemed that life at Beisen had been too easy for them.

Ye Jiuliang released her grip, and the girl, pale with fright, staggered back to Li Jingxuan’s side.

"Mr. Xu." Ye Jiuliang called out in a calm voice.

Xu Li looked at her with a puzzled expression, reflexively responding.

Ye Jiuliang spoke unhurriedly, "Mr. Xu, would you or another teacher mind producing a test paper? It can be more difficult than the exam we just took; I’ll wait right here."

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone was flabbergasted.

Was she intent on re-taking the exam right there and then?

With an even higher difficulty level, was she not joking?

Xu Li came back to his senses and asked uncertainly, "Ms. Ye, are you sure you’ve thought this through? Making the exam even harder?"

If she did poorly, she would truly be unable to explain herself.

"Do as she says." Finally breaking his silence, Li Mochan suddenly spoke up.

When the biggest boss gave an order, Xu Li naturally didn’t dare to ask further and quickly walked back to the office to have other teachers produce the exam.

Uncertain how long the wait would be and feeling tired of standing, Ye Jiuliang swung her long legs over and sat down on the motorcycle.

Having dealt with the wind all the way here and the noisy voices ringing in her ears and causing a headache, Ye Jiuliang raised her hand to pinch the bridge of her nose, her mood at rock bottom.

Suddenly, her wrist was gripped tightly, the hand strong and slender, cold as white jade. Even though she was not particularly focused on hands, she could appreciate that this hand was truly exquisite and perfect.

Without looking up, she could guess who the owner of the hand was. Her eyes downcast, she said, "Let go."

Li Mochan did not respond but instead reached out to check her forehead, which was slightly feverish.

Caught off guard by his actions, Ye Jiuliang reacted and brushed his hand away, "What are you doing?"

"First to the infirmary." Li Mochan insisted, his eyes filled with concern.

Ye Jiuliang replied, "No need, it’s just a little cold."

"Listen to me," his deep voice softened a few notches.

Avoiding his gaze, she said, "Let go first, a lot of people are watching."

"To the infirmary," Li Mochan persisted.

Ye Jiuliang sighed, "I’m not going."

Li Mochan fixed his gaze on her, the air charged with tension.

Around them, there was dead silence.

Everyone looked on with horror at the large hand resting on the back of Ye Jiuliang’s hand, swallowing hard.

Could it be that they were all experiencing a collective hallucination?

Li Jingxuan’s face turned ugly, and in an unnoticed corner, she took out her phone and quietly captured the scene.

"Wei Bei," Li Mochan called out coldly, and Wei Bei nodded in understanding before turning away.

Ye Jiuliang pulled back her hand and leaned against the motorcycle, her head down, her expression concealed.

In a moment, Wei Bei returned, carrying a small bag marked with the infirmary’s logo.

"Master," he offered the small bag with both hands.

Li Mochan took it, pulling out a bottle of water and some pills, "Take the medicine."

A mellow voice rang out above her, and Ye Jiuliang’s curled lashes fluttered slightly as she refused softly, "Thank you, but for a slight cold, no medicine is needed."

Confronted again with her distant tone, Li Mochan furrowed his brows, leaning down. As he got close to her ear, with a look of surprise in her eyes, he asked, "Do you need me to feed it to you, hm?"

Ye Jiuliang’s eyelids, which had been half-closed, suddenly widened as she caught a glimpse of the seriousness deep in his eyes, sending a tremor through her heart.

After hesitating for a moment, she reached out, taking the water and pills he offered.

"Thanks."

Li Mochan stood up straight, watching her swallow the pills, a satisfied curve formed at the corner of his lips.

Half an hour later, Xu Li returned, accompanied by several teachers.

"Ye Jiuliang, the test papers are ready, let’s go into the classroom," Xu Li said.

Ye Jiuliang hummed a response, hopped off the motorcycle, and followed behind the group of teachers into the classroom.

Both the front and back doors of the classroom were open, with a crowd jostling each other inside, and even the windows were crammed with onlookers.

Ye Jiuliang casually picked a seat and sat down; Xu Li placed a set of test questions on her desk.

Her eyebrows slightly raised, she picked up a pen, glanced at the questions, and began writing without hesitation.

Beside her, Li Mochan leaned back in his chair with an elegant posture, sitting quietly, yet he exuded an aura of "keep your distance."

He tilted his head slightly, an angle from which he could perfectly capture every expression on the girl’s face.

Xu Li and the other teachers stood aside, witnessing her rapid writing and the shock on their faces was evident.

This...

Xu Li looked up at the profile of Ye Jiuliang, recalling the 59-mark test paper, and suddenly understood something, but the next second, he was struck with an even greater confusion.

Having the capabilities of a top student yet making everyone believe she was a poor student, this was truly baffling.

The people crowded at the classroom doors and windows watched Ye Jiuliang intently, afraid to blink in case she cheated when their eyes were closed.

As time went by, seeing Ye Jiuliang’s pen barely stopping, everyone felt an ominous premonition.

Approximately twenty minutes later, Ye Jiuliang put down her pen and pushed the test paper forward, "Mr. Xu, would you mind checking this for me?"

Xu Li, looking down at the densely filled test paper, incredulously turned to Ye Jiuliang, "Are you sure you don’t want to check it over?"

The difficulty of this test paper was much higher than the recent monthly examination, and her quick completion was astounding.

Ye Jiuliang, "No need."

Xu Li picked up the test paper, exchanged glances with the other teachers, then began grading the paper in front of everyone.

Ye Jiuliang remained composed, whereas the onlookers were tense, one would think the test paper was theirs from their reactions.

With several teachers grading one test, the process was naturally quick.

A moment later, the teachers showed satisfied smiles and looked at Ye Jiuliang with added admiration.

Xu Li walked to the podium with the test paper and announced loudly, "Ye Jiuliang has scored full marks on this test, which proves that her grades in the monthly examination are earned by her own ability, rightfully claiming the first rank in the grade."

Before the echoes of his words faded, an uproar erupted around them.

Especially those who were vociferous about Ye Jiuliang cheating, their faces turned pale.

How is this possible...

Twenty minutes to produce a perfect score, who are they trying to fool.

Everyone gawked at Ye Jiuliang as if she were some sort of monster, recalling the conditions they had just agreed to with her, each with an expression as if they had eaten bitter herbs.

Ye Jiuliang stood up, reached for the test paper, and gave it a backhanded slap onto the desk, her eyes lifted defiantly and rebelliously, "I’ve produced the evidence, so please hand in your ten-thousand-word reflection papers by tomorrow as agreed. We have surveillance as proof outside, so don’t even think about denying it," she said.

"The school’s notice board is waiting for your reflections. If anyone’s paper is missing, I’ll have to go through the trouble of tying that person to a tree for display." She gave a cold laugh, her strong presence filling the large classroom with an oppressive feel.

"What I say, I do," she stated emphatically.

Everyone no longer dared to be loud, their guts twisting as they met the chilling gaze of the girl.

With the matter resolved, Ye Jiuliang had no intention of staying a moment longer; all she wanted was to go back to sleep.

Feigning ignorance of the intense gaze next to her, Ye Jiuliang turned and walked towards the exit.

Seeing this, the crowd blocking the door scattered like startled fowl.
