The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s-Chapter 1829: The Dull Wife (Part 7)
Jiaojiao was still at school at the time, so she didn’t know the specific situation. She only knew that one day Shu Jiao returned from outside and suddenly saw Jianguo running out from the Door Guard’s post to open the door for her, which startled her.
Later, even Old Master Shu got wind of this and made a phone call, giving Jianguo a scolding. But Jianguo seemed impervious to his sarcastic words and continued doing as he pleased.
Old Master Shu had no choice but to strictly order the Door Guards not to let Jianguo into the post. Jianguo genuinely stayed out, standing like a wooden post outside the Door Guard’s area. Whenever a car came in or out of the Shu Family estate, he’d be the first to jog over to open the gate, leaving the Door Guards with nothing to do.
In Beidu, the outdoor temperature in winter can drop to over ten degrees below zero, which is truly freezing. Even though Jianguo was physically strong, he couldn’t withstand such a harsh ordeal.
He probably persisted outside the Door Guard’s area for about two days when Old Master Shu relented. As he initially mentioned, if something dire happened to Jiaojiao’s actual father while standing outside, his precious daughter would become a single parent, which would be a hard pill to swallow. Thus, they let him be.
So currently, Jianguo has been at the Shu Family acting as a Door Guard for at least a month now, and just opening the door for Shu Jiao can bring him joy all day.
Jiaojiao didn’t know how to react and could only curiously ask him: "Dad, what did mom say to you?" Happy about it.
Jianguo immediately grinned so widely that his eyes narrowed into slits, very proud: "The first thing your mom said was, ’Move aside,’ and then she said, ’If you get squashed, it’s not my problem.’ Look, your mom not only talked to me but also showed concern, right?"
"..." Jiaojiao.
After a long silence, she finally said: "As long as you’re happy. As long as you’re happy."
"Yes! Dad is happy!" Jianguo continued to beam with joy, then turned to see the Little Snow Wolf curled up and asleep by the sofa, and curiously asked: "What’s this? A dog?"
"No, this is the mate I found for Xiaobai, a Snow Wolf," Jiaojiao replied.
Jianguo’s smile abruptly vanished, replaced by a somewhat dejected expression. How come when he doesn’t have a wife, everyone else does?
"Isn’t it too many? We still have Xiaobai and Xiaohuang at home," he said.
Nearby, Xiaobai heard this and, for once, sided with him, jumping off the sofa into the floor, nodding eagerly: "Awoo awoo." Yes, indeed, there are too many pets at home; it’s enough just having him.
He was about to pick up the Little Snow Wolf and throw it out but hadn’t yet acted when a pillow was tossed over by Jiaojiao to stop him.
"Xiaobai, leave it alone!" Jiaojiao shouted. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Awoo awoo!" Xiaobai started hopping around on the floor, declaring he didn’t need a mate!
Beside him, Jianguo looked visibly constipated: "Xiaobai, don’t you want one?"
Xiaobai nodded his head vigorously, almost shedding a few Wolf Eyes’ tears, feeling he finally found someone who understood him, a soulmate who comprehended his feelings.
"This one’s a fool..." Jianguo grumbled as he left the living room, turning to go wash up inside.
"???" Xiaobai.
Head tilted, what does that mean?
As the wolf that had been the exclusive favorite at the Ruan Family for ten years, Xiaobai genuinely disliked having another little pup at home vying for attention. Even though Jiaojiao repeatedly claimed it was a mate for him, a wife, he still couldn’t bring himself to like it.
