The King of Hell's Genius Pampered Wife-Chapter 2004: My Student
Chapter 2004: My Student
“Aren’t the students from Water Medicine Class Three supposed to be the wildest, cockiest, and most reckless bunch in the whole Heavenly Medical Valley? Meng Zisu, you’re part of that class — don’t you feel ashamed?”
Tears rolled down Meng Zisu’s cheeks. She clutched her swollen, reddened cheek and let out soft sobs at first, but soon her crying grew louder, like she was letting out all the hurt bottled up inside.
“Instructor Xi Yue, but… but I don’t know what to do… My father wants me to marry Ke Yanhua as his concubine… Heavenly Medical Valley is my only way out… If I can’t even stay here, then other than dying, I really don’t know what else I can do… sob… I don’t want to die, but I’d rather die than…”
Xi Yue looked at her deeply. She didn’t comfort her, nor did she curse out Ke Yanhuai or Meng Baiya. She calmly said, “Meng Zisu, do you think you did anything wrong? Back then, during the incident, the Ke Family broke off the engagement, and Meng Baiya took your place as their future daughter-in-law. Do you really think you were the one at fault?”
“I didn’t!” Meng Zisu suddenly screamed, her deathly pale face flushing red. “Back in the maze… that humiliation… it was Meng Baiya who drugged me and lured me into the trap! I explained it over and over to my father and the Ke Family, but no one believed me. Instructor Xi Yue, you have to believe me!”
Xi Yue’s expression slowly softened, and she said without hesitation, “I believe you.”
For a moment, Meng Zisu froze—then a faint smile slowly crept onto her face.
But then Xi Yue’s next words rang out, firm and unyielding. “I don’t accept students like you.”
Meng Zisu stood frozen, her face filled with utter despair, as if all hope had been crushed.
By now, Song Zhen had gotten back on his feet, staring blankly at Meng Zisu with a dazed, haunted look, as if she had just seen a ghost.
Seeing the utter despair on her face, it felt like something cut through his heart, and a sudden surge of anger flared up. He snapped his gaze toward Xi Yue and glared fiercely. “Shut up!”
Xi Yue didn’t even spare Song Zhen a glance. Her eyes stayed locked on Meng Zisu as she spoke, each word sharp and clear. “If you want to be my student, but you can’t even handle a little setback, can’t endure a bit of slander, and crumble at the first sign of hardship — then I have no respect for you, and I won’t accept you as my student.”
Meng Zisu suddenly jerked her head up, locking her gaze tightly onto Xi Yue as tears slowly welled up and spilled from her eyes.
Xi Yue asked calmly, “Do you still want to die? Still want to keep running away?”
“No!” Meng Zisu shook her head hard, choking on her sobs. “Instructor, I want to stay in Water Medicine Class Three. I want to keep learning from you. I want to stay here. I… I don’t want to die, and I’m not going to just give in to those scumbags!”
It was only then that a faint smile finally appeared on Xi Yue’s face. She said softly, “Go on back. Mi Xuan is probably worried sick.”
Meng Zisu nodded with tears in her eyes and walked over to Xi Yue with her frail body.
The demonic energy in her body hadn’t been fully purged yet, leaving her extremely weak, but the look on her face was completely different — the gloom had lifted, and the deep, soul-crushing despair was gone.
However, when she arrived at Xi Yue’s side, her vision suddenly blurred, and she collapsed.
Xi Yue and Song Zhen reached out at the same time, but Xi Yue was closer, so she caught Meng Zisu first and pulled Meng Zisu into her arms.
Song Zhen shot her a sharp look and snapped, “Let go of her! Don’t you have any decency as her instructor?”
