Meng Zisu bit her lower lip and whispered, “I’m sorry, Instructor Xi Yue. Also, thank you for saving Lei.”
Xi Yue accepted her thanks and said while walking, “If you really want to thank me, help me gather some spirit herbs—or seeds work too. They’ll come in handy for future classes. Just treat it as paying off my consultation fee.”
Meng Zisu froze for a moment, then quickly broke into a relieved smile. “Alright, instructor. Don’t worry. As long as I can find it, I’ll definitely bring it to you.”
Xi Yue had heard all the things Meng Baiya said about her, yet she didn’t treat her like the plague or look at her with pity—she just saw her as any other student.

Meng Zisu’s face went pale, her body swaying like she could collapse any second. A loud buzzing filled her ears, and for a moment, it felt like everything around her just disappeared.
