The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1588: Finding Lorayah City
Chapter 1588: Finding Lorayah City
Fortunately, nothing happened along the way.
It was rather uneventful.
Esmeravon soared through the sky, even above the Black Rift.
Such a thing was an incredible feat as the higher one goes, the heavier the pressure becomes.
Only a few Voidal Monsters could go above the clouds.
Going above the Black Rift sounded extremely relieving, but that doesn’t mean they were now free of its influence. No. The Black Rift still bound them, but its influence was thinner, weaker, allowing them to breathe better and even avoid most Voidal Monsters.
No wonder Princess Davina was fond of Esmeravon.
"Where are we going exactly?"
"Do you know anything about Lorayah Village?"
"Hmm? I’ve never heard of that village before."
Rex was surprised that Princess Davina knew nothing about Lorayah Village.
But then again, her relationship with the Duke wasn’t so great.
And a matter regarding the Sky City is not something Duke Lorcan could freely talk about.
For once, Amanir did a great job. How in the hell was he able to find out about this information?
Naturally, Rex asked him about his method.
But Amanir, with his smug look, said that a thief never showed how he operated.
He didn’t know the details because of that.
"I guess you really need to work on your relationship with Duke Lorcan if you want to be his successor."
"Did you think I didn’t know?"
"Then what’s the talk I heard from the servants that you always stood against him?"
Rex raised a brow, curious as to what made them fight in the first place.
From his perspective, Duke Lorcan didn’t seem to be treating his daughters badly whatsoever.
Princess Davina turned away and crossed her arms.
"Don’t listen to baseless rumors, and don’t change the subject. What’s special about Lorayah Village?"
Seeing how she averted the topic entirely, Rex knew that the rumors had some truth to it.
But he didn’t push further.
"A Sky People called Kaelthar was detained there, and Duke Lorcan was the one overseeing that place. I need to go there and talk to him, see if he could be of use."
"I see..."
Though Princess Davina seemed composed, Rex could tell that she was surprised.
She didn’t know about this, and that was troubling her.
About an hour later, with the help of the System, the two of them arrived at where the supposed Lorayah Village was located. Rex took out a map from the Inventory, surprising Princess Davina with his spatial power, and inspected it.
On the map, there was one red dot, a mark of where Lorayah Village was.
Mira, with her father’s help, exercised their troops, a lot of them, disguised them as Walker, and began gathering information about Lorayah Village. It may have started as an accident, but calling her right in front of her family proved worthwhile—though admittedly, that was mostly because I’m the fiancé of the strongest woman of the new generation.
Regardless, it should be around here.
Rex nodded his head and turned to Princess Davina.
"Can we go down a little until I can see what’s down below?"
Instead of answering, she commanded Esmeravon to descend a little.
It dipped back down into the Black Rift, passing through the clouds.
But down below was pitch black. fгeewebnovёl.com
No Seekers meant the entire Black Rift was dark, and from their height—it was impossible for anyone to see what was directly below them. As Princess Davina was about to use an item of hers, predicting that this would happen, she was surprised to find Rex was focused on looking down.
He was on the edge of Esmeravon, looking down at the pitch-black abyss.
Even though it’s impossible, his eyes seemed to be scanning the ground, darting with purpose.
"You... You can see through the Black Rift?"
"Huh?"
Rex paused for a second and looked at her.
He was met with Princess Davina’s confused and skeptical gaze, looking at him with suspicion.
It was only then that Rex realized what he was doing.
"Of course not, I was trying to see if I could, but I couldn’t," Rex lied without blinking, acting as naturally as he could. Then, he pointed at his chest, "I have a familiar, a Voidal Monster that I took in, and it can merge with me and help me see better. But it seemed it wasn’t enough."
"You’ve mentioned it before." Princess Davina took out a vial from inside her robe. "You have the same hobby as father, taming strong Voidal Monsters."
Even though Rex couldn’t see what was down there, he didn’t need to.
He could use the System to scan the terrain below and try to find any settlements.
Since they weren’t close to anywhere, if there was a settlement, then it must be Lorayah Village.
Finding it is going to be hard, though, since the location estimate Mira had given him encompasses at least thirty miles in radius, and there are a lot of spaces that need to be covered. But with the System’s aid, it shouldn’t take more than half an hour to find Lorayah Village.
However, he couldn’t do it openly.
The Black Rift is a big deal in this realm, and the last thing he wanted was to be captured.
Someone who could see through the blackness better than a Seeker, that’s something everyone wants.
Princess Davina stepped gracefully to the edge of Esmeravon—the wind catching the hem of her gown as she held the vial aloft. Her thumb hovered over the lid with delicate precision, and with a subtle tilt of her hand, a single drop slipped free—falling like liquid light into the abyss below.
Curious as to what that was, Rex watched the droplet as it made its way down.
As it picked up the pace and neared the ground, it exploded.
Splash!
It didn’t decimate the surroundings; instead, it burst with a pristine smoke that pushed aside the Black Rift in a mile radius, lighting up every nook and corner of the terrain below. Not only that, but the smoke turned into red vapor when it hit a Voidal Monster.
Even with his eyes alone, Rex knew what was down below and how many Voidal Monsters were there.
"Holy, what the heck is that?! That’s incredible!"
"It’s a high-quality Pristine Sentry. Only nobles could get their hands on this."
"Do you have more? I want it."
"It’s expensive. You can’t have it."
"Expensive even for a dukedom? I don’t believe it. Don’t be stingy, princess, I’m also a family."
Princess Davina cast a sharp glance at him, annoyed.
She couldn’t believe how shameless Rex was to use their relationship as a bargaining chip.
"We haven’t married yet, you’re not family. For now, you’re a freeloader."
"Tch! I’ll extort you for money after we marry, you’ll see."
Inside, Rex asked the System whether the Shop has a Pristine Senty.
And as expected, it has one that was even better than the one Princess Davina has.
It would encompass five miles in radius with a single drop, but it cost a devastating five million gold.
Even for the one Princess Davina was using, it cost three hundred thousand gold.
Based on the description, the substantial leap in cost was not because of the scale of each drop, but due to the five million gold one possessing the ability to not disturb any Voidal Monster, including Voidal Monarchs, which was incredible.
The one Princess Davina was using would disturb Voidal Monsters, so they still need to be careful.
Just like that, both of them went around in search of Lorayah City.
Rex could only whimper at each drop Princess Davina was using, knowing how expensive it was—and that he didn’t need her to do that since he had the System’s scanning feature. But saying that would mean admitting he could see through the Black Rift, so he has no choice but to suffer in silence.
About half an hour later, Esmeravon was now hovering above a mountainous region.
And the System finally found something.
<Notice: An entrance has been found.>
Show it to me.
At his command, the holographic blue light zoomed in on an open expanse that was surrounded by three distinct mountains. Rex’s eyes narrowed as the light traced the river’s winding path, illuminating every contour and shape with precision, until it paused, settling on a concealed entrance hidden beneath the riverbed.
"Go there," Rex pointed at the river.
Princess Davina nodded and guided Esmeravon.
But as they were closing in, Esmeravon screeched, sensing a powerful barrier underneath them.
All it could do was trace down the edge of the barrier and land on the side.
Rex got down from Esmeravon and scanned the barrier.
System, can I go through it?
<Calculating...>
<Calculation finished!>
<Yes, the user can go through the barrier with the user’s newfound mastery over Minor Laws.>
Seeing this, Rex nodded his head.
I guessed as much.
Even standing directly before it, he couldn’t sense the barrier—not even with his sharpened, finely tuned senses. It was expertly crafted for concealment, woven with layers of stealth and illusion without even thinking about its strength.
No oppressive pressure coming from it, no hum of resistance, only silence and stillness.
It wasn’t a barrier meant to withstand force.
It was meant to never be found at all.
Rex would never find it without the System, even if the search radius became smaller.
Behind him, Princess Davina also seemed to experience the same thing.
"From how intricate the energy strands that weave this barrier, it must’ve been made by several high-ranking Seekers. No doubt about it, my father is involved."
"Are you coming?"
"No, I’m going to wait outside. This is not my problem."
"Alright, if you say so."
Rex approached the barrier without much thought.
On the other hand, Princess Davina was clearly troubled, stealing glances at Rex with something to say.
"Wait!"
"Hmm? What’s wrong?"
"Bring this with you."
Princess Davina dropped down from Esmeravon and took off her bracelet.
It was a magical bracelet from the looks of it.
Rex didn’t even need to scan it to know how powerful this bracelet was.
"It’ll keep you safe."
"Are you that worried?"
"Don’t overestimate yourself too much. I just don’t want to bring you back as a corpse."
Rex chuckled lightly and took the bracelet.
His fingers brushed her, just a breath of contact, and their eyes met, charged and unspoken.
Princess Davina quickly pulled away, turned sharply, and stepped back onto Esmeravon without a word.
She sat there and closed her eyes to meditate.
On the other hand, Rex wore the bracelet that could even adjust to the size of his hand.
"It won’t take long. I’ll be back quickly."
"You better be. It’s not polite to make a princess wait."
Rex scoffed and waved his hand dismissively before heading for the barrier.
Upon reaching there, he looked at the aura-less barrier and stretched his arms.
He prepared himself to use his law power as the System directed.
First, he summoned the Red Dawn of Kaiser and the Aegis of Moon Sentinel, both Soul Artifacts gleamed and vibrated with immense power. Then, he tapped into the Minor Law of Misdirection first, gathering it into his index fingertip, and touched the barrier with it.
Swish!
As soon as he did, a yellowish energy surged.
It created a circle-shaped mark on the barrier, big enough for him to step in.
Considering that this barrier was focused on stealth, it has to be equipped with sensitive sensors.
Duke Lorcan would detect anyone who touched or entered it.
However, with the power of his Minor Law of Misdirection, those sensors could be nullified.
The Minor Law of Misdirection not only served as a protective veil in battle but could also disrupt and unravel energy constructs. Rex had learned this firsthand during his time in the Forsaken Tower. If timed precisely, he could use it to scatter April’s attack before it even fully took shape.
Now, with it, he could also disperse the sensor and deactivate it.
Once he did, he moved on to the Minor Law of Inevitability.
Rex burned the barrier with it, opening a pathway for him to go through.
<Notice: the user has successfully nullified the barrier!>
As soon as that notification appeared, Rex exhaled lightly and closed his eyes.
Once his eyes were opened again, the crimson shade turned orange, into the color of molten lava.
