The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1482: Priestess of Purity
Rex calmly turned in the direction of the soothing, feminine voice.
It came from an approaching figure.
She seemed to be a priestess, adorned in flowing white robes—their silken fabric trimmed with gold filigree that shimmered within the shadows of the forest. A regal sash of golden embroidery cinched her waist, accentuating her ethereal presence.
From her shoulders, cascading sleeves billowed with each movement.
Their hems were adorned with delicate golden charms that chimed softly like whispered prayers.
A pristine veil of sacred cloth draped over her head, extending long past her shoulders while its beautiful translucent weave obscured, yet also highlighted the faint glow of her gold eyes beneath. A soft divine light pierced through the fabric like the sun behind a shroud.
Other than her appearance, what caught Rex's attention the most was the radiant sun crest.
It was located above her blissful chest.
A sun crest etched in fiery gold—and pulsing with intricate arcane symbols—like an ancient cosmic wheel. Seeing the crest, the onlookers immediately went down to their knees as if it was the natural thing to do.
Even Joren and Rakha knelt down.
"Priestess!" Ferric exclaimed in shock as he immediately galloped his horse towards her.
Just the sight of the priestess' esteemed presence, pure and hallow, walking on the filthy dirt of the forest made Ferric's heart pound hard. He could not allow—such a dirty place to defile her presence.
"Please," He climbed down smoothly and stood in front of her. "At least be on my horse"
Hearing this, the priestess smiled faintly and reached out her hand.
Ferric carefully grasped her hand and helped her get on the horse.
His hand was awkward while doing so, afraid that it was too rough for the priestess.
As this was happening, Rex scanned the priestess out of curiosity.
Since there was a big chance that she might be a lot stronger than him—he didn't scan her detailed stats. Instead, he asked the System to only perceive what could be perceived with safety in mind.

…
"Viora…" Rex mumbled inwardly before he moved a bit to the side toward Casey.
"Who is she?" He asked questioningly.
Knowing he was in trouble earlier, this priestess, Viora might be the answer to his problems.
"Judging by her crest, she must be a Priestess of Purity," Casey explained—glancing at him. "I take it you're from a small and remote land if you don't recognize her kind. She serves the Sun Ecclesia, a church that has power over the entire continent. The Saintess of the church wields the Sun Echo, a unique Echo from the Altar of Gods, and a fraction of her power is bestowed upon the priestess who serves under her"
Facing forward to the priestess, Casey continued, "She's one of those priestesses"
"How strong is the Sun Ecclesia?" Rex asked curiously.
Casey didn't know what Rex was thinking but she answered anyway, "It's only below the Emperor"
Upon hearing this, Rex's eyes glistened with an idea.
So once I have enough strength to bargain, I'll give the information about the Echoes I got from the System to a Priestess of Purity like her. She could be the one to deliver my messages to the Emperor. I'll have to make contact with the Sun Ecclesia.
Exposing the Echo he has to garner the Spirit Emperor's attention is too risky.
A lot of people wanted to gain favor from the Spirit Emperor and Rex would be aimed for it.
Rex has experience regarding this.
All of his vassal kingdoms in the Mortal World were racing to gain favor from him and so far, several of them have tasted the benefit of his help—the Dwarves and the Elves in particular, have experienced it.
Rex was quite sure that they would scheme against each other if the situation arose.
Due to the emergence of Order Beasts, they couldn't afford to make drastic moves.
Once the world settled down, they would surely try to sabotage each other.
And that's nothing more than politics.
However, if he could have someone he trusts in the Sun Ecclesia to relay his message, it'd be a lot easier to make direct contact with the Spirit Emperor. Because of that—Rex was already thinking of a way to get close to Viora, if there was even a way for him without being killed.
In his contemplation, he unconsciously stared directly at Viora.
Making direct contact with such an esteemed figure would certainly get him in trouble.
But he was too occupied with his mind to care.
On the other hand, while Viora was about to climb onto the horse—she accidentally locked eyes with Rex. At that very moment, she paused. Her golden eyes behind the veil slightly widened, there was a clear mix of shock and disbelief behind her gaze.
Noticing that Viora was looking at something or someone—Ferric turned his head.
It was then he realized Rex was looking directly at her.
"Lower your gaze, you foolish outsider!" Ferric roared in anger and walked over to Rex with his sword ready in his hand. He was furious, how could a nobody like Rex dare to meet the priestess in the eyes when he didn't even dare? It's unacceptable. "You seemed to be tired of living, I'll kill you where you stand!"
Upon hearing this, Rex blinked and smiled acutely. Shit, I didn't realize I was staring at her.
Swoosh!
In a fraction of a second, the sword in Ferric's hand burned with torrential life energy.
An amount that even Rex couldn't handle.
Ferric, as a higher raking guard, wasn't at the Immortal Spirit rank but Eternal Spirit rank instead!
Against such an opponent, Rex would be obliterated.
Realizing he needed to act quickly, Rex turned to Linthia and gave her a subtle signal.
Without hesitation, she stepped closer and stood right behind Rex, trusting him completely without any sign of doubt. Cold sweat trickled down his face as he braced himself to take control of the situation—but before he could make a move, Viora's voice cut through the tense air once again.

"Stop!" She exclaimed loudly. "Stop it, Sir Ferric!"
Upon hearing this, Ferric stopped and turned towards her, "Priestess, this person dared to disrespect you by daring to meet your gaze. I know your kind heart is pure—and disliked violence, but if I let him go then it's only going to make more trouble in the future"
"Please, Sir Ferric," Viora continued pleading softly. "I'm asking you to stop"
Despite his anger, Ferric could only sigh and sheathed his sword back.
It couldn't be helped if Viora was fixed on wanting to pardon Rex for his disrespect.
"Be grateful that she's kind or else your head would be on the ground by now," Ferric spat coldly.
Rex didn't answer, he was glad that Viora saved him from trouble.
Mounting the horse, she trotted forward to approach Rex who could now breathe easier.
"You…" Viora looked down on Rex. "Come with me,"
Naturally, hearing her say that caught Rex completely off guard.
He was thinking of ways to get close with her but who would've thought she gave the way herself?
"I won't go anywhere without bringing her with me," Rex answered, gesturing towards Linthia.
Once again, Ferric was furious as Rex even dared to bargain when Viora asked for him directly.
However, Viora raised her hand, she didn't mind, "Okay, that woman could also come"
Just like that, under the watchful eyes of the onlookers—including Joren, who was confused and surprised by the sudden turn of events, Rex and Linthia were escorted away. Two guards on horseback flanked them, trailing a few steps behind as they followed Viora.
Along the way, Linthia leaned close, "What's happening?"
"I also don't know," Rex answered truthfully. "Let's follow along for now and keep our eyes open"
Linthia nodded and pulled away.
On the other hand, Rex scanned Viora's simplified stats once again.
He might not be able to check her stats but he could know what she was feeling right now.

…
Upon seeing the stark change, Rex frowned hard.
Viora was in a juxtapose of emotions, she was all over the place inside.
In order for her emotions to change from indifferent to this from looking at me alone, there's no other explanation other than she recognized me from somewhere. Is this regarding—the Arcalen House? No, that can't be. Nobody saw that and she's not with Davina.
But if not from that, where else could she recognize me?
I've never been to the Spirit Realm. Hmm… Maybe she has visited the Mortal Realm recently?
If Rex had to guess, she must've visited the Mortal Realm recently.
Rex was well-known there, even the people from other continents probably knew about him by now so it wasn't that surprising if Viora came to know about him and his reputation during her visit to the Mortal Realm. But still, he wasn't sure about his guess.
Considering that they were now in the Spirit Realm, there was no need for her to be afraid of him.
Even Ferric could easily take him down right now.
So there was no need for her to be petrified as a single word from her could end Rex instantly.
Nevertheless, he was anticipating to know what made Viora like this.
As expected, Viora and her group of guards were heading to the Aurelian Fortress mainland at the center.
It seemed they had only arrived and heard the commotion coming from the spar between Rex and Jorren, and decided to check it out. Now that the situation has been resolved, the convoy continued—on their way and headed for the bridge.
It appeared they had only arrived and heard the commotion of Rex and Joren's sparring match.
Now that the situation has been resolved, the convoy resumed their journey, pressing forward toward the bridge. Stepping onto the bridge felt surreal, Rex could feel the history and robust construct through the soles of his feet.
Upon passing the middle point of the bridge, Rex noticed the change in the air instantly.
It increased drastically—the life energy is denser here. Rex then glanced over to the translucent vortex that was more visible to see from the inside. Must be this because of this vortex. It kept the life energy from the Gate-class Obelisk of Life concentrated within it. The reason why the mainland is desirable to everyone.
Then, Rex turned to the several acute spires stabbing skywards along the wall.
And those things regulated how much life energy the outside got.
Reaching the gate, Rex looked up at the tall structure.
"Is this your first time seeing a gate as big as this, kid?" One of the guards behind Rex chimed, amused at the sight of Rex tilting his head so far back to look at the top of the walls. "Our fortress' wall reached almost a hundred and fifty meters tall. Marvel at it good, you might not see anything more impressive than this in your entire life"
As he said that, the guard beside him also chuckled.
Both were clearly proud of the fortress.
Rex, on the other hand, remained silent.
One hundred and fifty meters? I don't think that's even near half of the Great Barricade.
If the guards already thought this gate was massive then they would die out of pure shock if they ever saw the Great Barricade that Humanity built. Compared to that, this gate wasn't all that domineering, it was only decent.
Rex also wasn't looking to marvel—he was scanning it for any defensive capabilities.
Just in case somehow, the situation turned bad and he needed to escape.
"Who are those two?" the leading guard, another Knight who came out of the gate with a platoon of guards asked, pointing at Rex and Linthia who were walking on foot. "I have the exact number of people in your convoy and those two aren't included"
"We picked them up in the forest, they're the priestess guests," Ferric answered.
Hearing this, the leading guard walked over to the carriage in the middle of the convoy.
From the banners adorning it, the carriage certainly belongs to the Sun Ecclesia.
"Priestess, are they really your guests?" He asked from the outside.
Then, a soft voice from the inside answered, "Yes, please do not mind them and let us through"
Nodding his head, the leading guard signaled to his men above, "Open the gate!"
