The hivemind is conquering for me?-Chapter 721: Condensed Time
Sigismund returned to his forces lines in quiet contemplation. He had surprised himself. Perhaps because the alien didn’t have as many gross features as others, he didn’t get as angry? He still had four syringes out of thirty left after all...
The peace would take time. Not just moving things, politically as well. First would be a ceasefire. Both sides would pull out of this current planet and then his forces would pull back system by system over the coming weeks.
Then the pussies in the civil court will hold a ’peace council’ which was a whole lot of shite talk for them to take credit for his outstanding patience this day. He would not be near Ecumenopolis one when this takes place or another incident of him ripping a noble’s head off might occur... Again.
Then after a few months the talks of diplomacy will start and that is when Mr Lambdason will potentially do his duty to the empire. If not? Meh, not his problem.
Still, with the long day behind him, a smile was now on his lips thinking of the young Sentinel. "Eighteen and a sentinel? The man is dicking down Dickon’s daughter and he rewards him with sentinel status!?! HA!"
He didn’t know what scandalous affair caused that little spike of surprise, but at their next meeting with the weak king, he was bringing it up. It was too funny.
Though there was also trouble. Knowing what Sentinel Apollo was capable of... What he had been recorded killing. He couldn’t risk the possibility that the Coalition was springing a trap for him.
Being one of his chosen heirs, Sigismund wouldn’t protect the kid too much. The young man needed to prove himself over the course of the next decade or so. But if he ended up taking this job, he would give the man fair warning of the dangers.
Upon arriving back at the front lines, a member of his private guard, one specialised in reading his emotions, paused for a moment before running over and saluting. "My King! What are your orders?"
Looking around, he saw his nearby braves all looking at him in states of rest. Rest? They should have remained vigilant.
"Get up, Soldiers! We are leaving! Move, move, move!"
...
Having moved her main self to her mating body to pay more attention to this particular galaxy, Jewel was satisfied with her current trajectory plans. She was spreading out thin to hit as many worlds as possible in as fast a time as possible.
This was going to be a good appetiser for when she fully devours this galaxy in the future. It would give her some time to create more adapted bio forms for the respective species of the galaxy rather than her standard scout forces.
Hunger pangs began to hit her as she began descending on fourteen worlds simultaneously. She couldn’t wait to dig in. She needed everything. She wouldn’t just leave a husk, the planets would become her entirely within her vast stomach.
Some had begun trying to ward her off and some were perfect morsels ripe for the taking. She was excited to get to these clones Apollo mentioned as well. Clone races tend to have strong genetic makeup. Wonderful biomass stores.
Her attention was then brought to another galaxy in Ker’min space. She felt a familiar figure kill an agitator relay, which confused her, past the simple Psionic backlash, but before she could investigate.
’INTRUDER!’
The millions of guards of Apollo’s world suddenly began pouring towards the sudden intruder on this place, the most important place in the universe to the hive. Something dared to set its body upon it?
Jewel ate out of necessity, but this transgression? This entity would know pain.
However, as one of her limbs reached close to the creature, curled up into a ball, the nearby synapse began to release a chemical reaction at the nearby smells that relayed to Jewel.
"Me?" She tilted her many heads as she got closer. But that was not all she smelled. "Apollo?"
Sending one of her warriors forward, after previously stopping her charge in confusion, she double checked. This prey was covered in her scent? Or a scent of her and not only that. She was wearing a clothing item, rich in Apollo’s delicious fragrance.
As one of her spiked legs took another step forward. The strange creature seemed to stir. It yawned, stretched its delicious looking body before looking around confused. Jewel then expected the common fear. The screaming. The usual prey stuff, but instead it seemed to gain recollection before speaking Apollo’s language.
"Oh, good. I made it. Hello? Jewel? Which body do I speak to? There are a lot of you."
Jewel instantly overwhelmed the creature’s mind. Breaking through its Mindspace barrier trivially and began scouring the Mindspace for intent, but she was surprised to find it the moderately sized Mindspace, for a single entity, foggy and hazy. She couldn’t pierce through this mist. The urge to devour this creature to absorb its power naturally entered her own Mindspace, but she held off for now. If Apollo sent it and she ate it. He might get mad. And she couldn’t have that.
After allowing the prey to recover. It still did not show any other emotions common in a prey species, it just began to speak. "Hello Jewel, My name is Vezzrah. I have just come straight from your bio cultist. Sophia. I had her make me a very strong version of her poison which you can smell alongside one of Apollo’s t-shirts. You can have the t-shirt, I really do not like wearing such heavy clothing."
The prey then took off its clothing to reveal its feeble form underneath. It was weak beyond imagining physically and its Mindspace could be shattered trivially, yet it was able to withstand the singularity of the hive gazing upon her without fear? This was new...
The creature then held its hand out to one of the nearby bio forms that had been getting closer.
Jewel wasted no more time. The scent of her mate was delightful. Her bioform reached out faster than the prey could react and bit the clothing from its hand. The smell intoxicated her. So good.
She almost forgot about the intruder for a moment before coming to.
Taking over the body of a nearby freethinker, she walked forward and breached the prey’s Mindspace once more with a telepathic tendril. "So, why is a little morsel here on one of my nest worlds wearing my mates clothing? You obviously know many secrets? Who are you, Vezzrah?"
Vezzrah then got on her knees and bowed before the Freethinker. "My Queen, I am honoured to be in your presence. I am a piece of Apollo’s future. To speak plainly. I am here because I share a power similar, though quite different, to one of your Stalkers, Onyx."
Jewel recognised the act of submission towards her from this prey. The urge to consume it and by doing so, taking its power for herself instantly crossed her Mind, something the prey naturally felt being tethered though a tendril.
"My Queen, eating me would be of no benefit. Not only is my biomass utterly wasteful to you, meaning you would expend more energy devouring me than get use out of me, but my power is unequivocally unique. You will not acquire it through regular means. But with that said. I guarantee my power will one day be yours, the hint being the scent that covers my body now."
Understanding what the prey was saying, Jewel asked surprised. "You would voluntarily become a part of me? That goes against what I understand of individuality. Why?" This prey had an answer to something she didn’t understand about single entities. Jewel could use this to perhaps understand her mate even better?
"My queen, being as vast as you are, you understand the complications of foresight and fixed points, so forgive my vagueness. But through my power. I have seen my dream life. Peace and love. And the only way for the universe to experience this is through two entities. One of which we both love. Although Apollo has only met me once and is weary of my intentions. I hope that my showing up in front of you. Knowing about this world and its significance to our love for him will allow him to ease his guard in the future. But my motives here today are not solely about Apollo, but about you. I come to request a favour, my queen."
Jewel felt a collective headache form on the planet. Foresight was always troublesome. She could tell the prey was speaking truths through what she let slip through the cracks. Although she had zero reasons to speak to this lesser creature. The very fact it knows Apollo’s future and is seemingly working to better it... She couldn’t just consume the being.
"Speak your request, prey. Tell me what you desire."
Vezzrah then stood up and looked downwards, although she couldn’t see through the ground, she knew what was beneath it and exactly where as she addressed.
" Simply put, Apollo’s timeline has been condensed due to Anti Psionic attacks. I require your immense power to aid in fixing this to allow events to precede as they should. Or Apollo is not going to know peace and quiet for decades, decades which will keep him away from you."
The ground started trembling as it began to move violently. Moments later, a hole burst out of the ground and Jewel’s 8ft tall humanoid body loomed over this helpful prey.
"I Cannot have that. What needs to be done to save my mate from such a cruel fate?"
