The Hero's Forsaken Princess-Chapter 41: Sending Her Husband Off
The atmosphere in the drawing room changed as soon as Princess Thalia showed up. The other knights seemed to like the princess of Eldara as they bonded with her for a month before returning victorious. ππ«ππ²π¨πππππ―ππΉ.ππ¨πΊ
Thalia also appeared friendly to the other knights as she greeted them with her elated voice. The knights returned her greeting with the same enthusiasm.
Eve quietly stood by Alaricβs side, observing everyone. The people around her had forgotten her presence, deliberately ignoring her.
"Princess Thalia, are you coming with General Stormholt? Itβs dangerous. You should stay in the castle." Caleb spoke to Thalia.
Eve was also dying to know why Thalia was there. She was glad Caleb raised that question for her.
"Yes, Caleb! I have to accompany your general in meeting my brother. Iβm not afraid of danger. Besides, Alaric is here. He will definitely save me if something bad happens along the journey." Thalia grabbed Alaricβs arm, sinking to his side. She didnβt care even if Eve was standing next to Alaric.
"Furthermore, my brother is difficult to deal with. I have to be there and be the mediator!" Thalia added.
Crown Prince Cassian was known for being cold, strict, and unfriendly. No one dared to offend the crown prince because he was merciless when punishing people.
Most of the court members of the Kingdom Eldara were afraid of him. They could envision Prince Cassian as a future Tyrant Ruler. No one could control him, not even the King and Queen of Eldara.
Though he was not yet the King, Crown Prince Cassianβs authority in the Kingdom Eldara was absolute.
"Alaric, shall we go?" Thalia gently tugged Alaricβs hand while giving him a charming smile.
Eve clenched her fists, narrowing her eyes on Alaric. She stepped back, distancing herself from her husband.
However, Alaric immediately grabbed her elbow, gently pulling Eve closer to him.
"Escort Princess Thalia to the carriage. I will just say goodbye to my wife." Alaric commanded his knights, his gaze fixed on Eve.
Thalia cursed inwardly, glaring at Eve. But she managed to conceal her annoyance and disdain. She glanced at Eve, smiling at her tauntingly before she turned around to leave.
βThrough this journey, Iβll make your husband mine.β Thalia swore to herself, eyeing Eve and Alaric meaningfully.
When Thalia and the knights left the drawing room, Alaric held Eveβs shoulders. He lifted her chin so that he could meet her gaze.
"You have to take care of yourself. You can do anything in this manor. This is also your estate. Our home. Iβll leave you enough financial resources to manage the estate while Iβm gone."
Alaric was giving Eve the freedom and authority to manage his estate in his absence. After all, she was his wife.
"Can I entrust you with this task, my dear wife?" Alaric asked her, staring at her intently while his fingers caressed her cheeks.
Eveβs heart skipped a beat when Alaric called her his wife affectionately. All her unhappiness earlier dissipated into thin air. She felt glad that Alaric was entrusting her to manage his manor in his absence.
Eve could only bob her head frantically in response. And without any reservation, Eve pounced on Alaric, hugging him tightly.
Alaric gently stroked her hair and placed a soft kiss on her head. He was reluctant to leave her, especially now that their relationship as husband and wife was beginning to flourish.
But his duty as the kingdomβs general compelled him to follow the royal command. He wanted to bring her but he knew it wasnβt the best choice for Eve.
Eveβs body was still weak. He wanted her to replenish her strength and recover quickly. He had no choice but to leave her in his estate. He had to endure three weeks of not seeing her.
Alaric broke the hug to capture her lips in a tender kiss. He hadnβt left yet, but he was already yearning for her.
The kiss was tender at first but later on, Alaricβs mouth became more aggressive than he had ever before. His hungry mouth parted her craving lips, sending wild tremors along her nerves.
Eve instinctively anchored her arms around Alaricβs neck, pulling him harder. Alaricβs mouth was crushing her lips in a full-mouthed kiss. Their tongues intertwined inside her mouth, licking deep in each contact.
She let herself drown in this passionate kiss. She didnβt expect to have a strong physical attraction with Alaric. She wondered when she began liking to be kissed by him. She shut her eyes, feeling the heat spreading through her body.
She welcomed every dash and stroke of his tongue colliding with hers. She clutched his hair at the back of his head when Alaric caught her tongue, sucking it hard and licking it sensually.
Yearning and desire could be seen in their eyes. The two would part their lips from time to time only to grasp some air. It seemed that they didnβt want this moment to end. But suddenly...
"Cough! Cough! General Stormholt... everyone is waiting outside." Caleb had to disrupt the coupleβs intimate moment, scratching his face as he looked down with his blushing face.
Eve immediately pushed Alaric away from her body upon hearing Calebβs voice. Alaric groaned in protest. Then he shot Caleb a cold sharp glare.
Caleb gulped hard upon meeting Alaricβs murderous glare. He regretted his actions. No wonder Sera deliberately sent him inside. It turned out the married couple were having their intimate moments.
βDamn you, Sera! You got me in trouble!β Caleb cursed her inwardly.
"I have to go now. Wait for my return." Alaricβs expression softened when he looked at Eve. "Iβm leaving ten knights to guard the estate. Donβt roam around the forest alone," he reminded her.
Eve nodded in response, smiling at him faintly. She grabbed his hands, squeezing them gently.
βPlease be careful...β
Alaric understood her so he nodded. "Donβt worry. I will return safe and unharmed."
He pulled her again into one last embrace, planting a soft kiss on her forehead.
On that same day, Alaric set on a journey with Princess Thalia and the royal knights to fetch and escort the Royal Convoy of Kingdom Eldara, while the palace was busy preparing for the grand banquet, welcoming the crown prince of Eldara.
