Chapter 266: [ Volume 1] Chaper 266- That easily

"Do you honestly think you can just take our child from me?"

Ray’s shock turned to cold anger, his eyes narrowing. "Esme," he hissed, his voice frigid, "you seem to have forgotten the terms of our contract. You signed away any claim to this child. You agreed."

Esme’s laugh was bitter, cutting through the tension like a blade. "And you really think I’m bound by some piece of paper?" Her voice was mocking, almost amused by the naivety she saw in him. "I might have sworn, Ray. I might have given you everything. But did you ever think that I’d give up my own child? Our child? If you think that, then you don’t know me at all." She took a step closer, her voice dropping, filled with a quiet but fierce determination. "And if you refuse to let me stay in my child’s life, I’ll take them by force if I have to."

Ray’s hands clenched, his shock giving way to a hard resolve. "Maybe you’ve forgotten, Mrs. Valhalla," he spat, the title dripping with disdain, "but you have nothing now. Not a scrap of power, no influence, no name to stand on. You’re no one." His voice rose, authoritative, almost imperious. "I am the heir of the Aron Group, the eldest son, the master of this family. You... you’re nothing without me."

But Esme merely smirked, a small, knowing look flashing across her face as if she had expected every single word. "The eldest son? The master?" she scoffed, her tone laced with a bitter amusement. "Let me tell you something, Ray. Without me... without everything I’ve done for you, everything I sacrificed... you would be nothing. You may hold the title, but that title means nothing when it’s built on a foundation I laid down."

Ray’s face hardened, struggling to keep his composure, but Esme’s words struck deep, challenging the very ground he stood on.

The room crackled with tension as Ray’s hatred boiled over, unleashing his inner beast. His eyes glowed a fierce gold, and with a guttural roar, his beast surged forward, launching itself directly at Esme. Esme’s eyes flashed in response, summoning her own beast, Bheom, who materialized in a burst of energy, instantly colliding with Ray’s creature. The two beasts clashed, tearing through the room, sending fragments of furniture flying. The walls shook under the force of their battle, an embodiment of the raw power and anger crackling between their owners.

Ray’s voice dripped with venom as he taunted her, "Do you really think you can blackmail me, Esme? If it comes down to it, I’ll kill you if that’s what it takes to keep my child."

Esme’s lips curled into a bitter smile as she met his threat head-on. "Oh, Ray... the feeling is mutual. I don’t need you to walk out of here unharmed. Alive is good enough." Her voice was cold, resolute, laced with a dark promise. The room seemed to grow colder with her words.

With a final clash, the beasts dissipated, leaving only the two of them in the wreckage. Esme’s flame flickered and went out as they locked eyes, both breathing heavily from the intensity of the confrontation. There was a fleeting silence, charged and heavy, before Ray’s fury erupted again. Grabbing her collar, he roughly dragged her towards the guest room, his eyes blazing.

"Do you think I’ll let you escape?" he sneered, throwing her into the room with a force that sent her stumbling. He slammed the door shut behind him, and the fight resumed, escalating into a clash of raw strength and defiance. Their punches and shoves filled the room with chaotic energy, neither willing to back down, each determined to assert their claim.

Outside the door, the servants leaned in, their faces a mixture of shock and curiosity as they strained to catch every noise. All they could hear was Esme’s wild shrieks and Ray’s furious growls, punctuated by the heavy thuds of things smashing against the walls.

"Oh my goodness," one servant whispered, eyes wide with scandal. "I think they’re tearing the place down! Should we stop them?"

"Are you kidding?" the other whispered back. "I wouldn’t get in the middle of that."

Inside, however, the scene couldn’t have been more different.

Ray and Esme were sprawled on the couch, curled up together, holding back laughter as they leaned into each other. Ray brushed a stray lock of hair from her face, smiling as he whispered, "Think they’re still out there?"

Esme grinned, placing a finger over her lips to signal silence. Then, in her most dramatic voice, she yelled, "I swear, Ray, if you don’t get out right now, I’ll throw you out the window!"

Ray, barely holding back his laughter, played along, shouting back, "Try it, Esme! You don’t stand a chance against me!"

Outside, the servants gasped, exchanging panicked looks.

But back inside, Ray tightened his arms around Esme, pulling her even closer. "This is ridiculous," he murmured, his breath tickling her neck. "Are you sure they believe us?"

Esme bit her lip, trying to stifle a giggle. "Trust me, they think we’re on the verge of a war in here."

Ray’s grin turned mischievous as he dramatically picked up a pillow and tossed it across the room with a loud thud. "How’s that for chaos?" he whispered, watching Esme struggle to keep a straight face.

"Oh, you think you’re tough, huh?" she said, barely containing her laughter. She cleared her throat and yelled, "Ray Aron, you are finished!"

Outside, one of the servants covered her mouth in shock. "Should we go in? It sounds... dangerous."

But before they could make a decision, a loud crash sounded from inside as Ray knocked over a stack of books on purpose. He and Esme dissolved into silent laughter, clutching each other as they pretended to be in the fight of the century.

Finally, as the noise died down, Ray pulled her close, whispering, "We might be in trouble once they find out we were just messing with them."
