Chapter 119: [Volume 1] Chapter 119- go on a date.

"Oh, is that so?" Ray said, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair, clearly unconvinced. "You really think we’re going to believe that you’d spend your vacation creating headlines? It doesn’t add up."

Ryan chimed in, shaking his head. "Yeah, if you just wanted to stir up some gossip, you could do that without involving all of us. What’s the real reason, Esme?"

Kai raised an eyebrow, a teasing smirk playing on his lips. "Or maybe you just want to show off a little? I mean, it’s not every day the new president goes out on a date with her four husbands."

Jay added, leaning forward with a curious expression. "Seriously, though. We’re not that easy to fool. What’s your game here?"

Esme chuckled softly, knowing they were harder to convince than she anticipated. "Alright, you caught me. But think about it: wouldn’t it be more interesting ".

Esme continued, her smile widening, "your dear second aunt’s daughter was just arrested. Can you imagine the joy that’s bringing them right now? So I thought, why not add a little fuel to the fire? Give them something else to talk about, something to make them just a bit more... distracted."

Jay’s eyebrows shot up, and Kai let out a low whistle. "You really are ruthless when you want to be," Kai muttered, shaking his head, though his smirk gave away his approval.

Ryan, however, remained thoughtful, his gaze lingering on Esme. "So this ’date’ is just a ploy to draw attention away from the real scandal?" he asked, ever the calm and analytical one.

"Call it whatever you want," Esme said, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "But just imagining how Second Aunt will react when she hears about this... it’s just too fun to think about!"

The Aron brothers exchanged glances, their expressions shifting from skepticism to intrigue. They considered her words for a moment, the wheels in their minds turning.

Jay, always the first to act, raised his hand excitedly. "I’m going!"

At his enthusiastic declaration, the others looked at each other, and a smile slowly formed on their faces. Ryan chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Well, if Jay’s going, then we can’t let him have all the fun. We’re going too!"

Kai leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, a playful smirk on his lips. "Let’s give Second Aunt a reason to stew. This will be perfect."

Ray nodded in agreement, his earlier skepticism fading. "It’ll be a chance to shake things up. And we could use a bit of entertainment."

Esme grinned, knowing she had successfully roped them into her plan. "Perfect! Tomorrow it is, then. Just wait until they hear about the new president of the Aron family and her four husbands on a date. The drama will be priceless!"

With renewed excitement, the brothers couldn’t help but share in Esme’s enthusiasm.

This date would appear, to the untrained eye, like a typical outing for a couple in love, projecting an image of a charming partnership.

However, for those entrenched in the business world, it was a stark message—one that conveyed indifference. The couple’s enjoyment against the backdrop of a crisis involving the second aunt’s daughter was telling.

With news of her situation splashed across TV screens, it was evident that the president and her family were more invested in their leisurely vacation than in addressing the urgent matter at hand.

Their carefree demeanor was a clear signal that they had no intention of offering assistance, revealing a chilling disregard for family ties when it came to their public image and personal interests. This was not just a date; it was a calculated display of power and neglect.

....

As the next morning unfolded, Esme stood in the hallway, wearing a cozy hoodie and comfortable pants, ready for their much-anticipated date. She had told the brothers the previous evening that they needed to be prepared by 8 AM, yet here she was, anxiously glancing at her watch for the third time. It was already 8:30, and they still hadn’t emerged from their rooms.

Just as she was about to call out to them, she heard footsteps echoing through the corridor. A rush of hope filled her, but it quickly morphed into disbelief as the brothers appeared one by one.

Ray, Ryan, and Kai stepped out, each clad in perfectly tailored suits that radiated formality. Esme’s patience evaporated. She grabbed her forehead, exasperation etched across her face. "Guys, what are you wearing?"

The trio exchanged confused glances, clearly not grasping her frustration. Ray raised an eyebrow, as if asking what was wrong with their attire. "What do you mean?" he replied, looking at the others for support.

Just then, Jay came out, dressed casually in a white shirt and black pants that exuded comfort and ease. Esme’s relief was short-lived as she redirected her focus back to the others.

"This is a date! We’re going out to enjoy ourselves, not heading to a business meeting or a formal event! Can we please wear something casual? Something that reflects our age and vibe as a couple?"

Ryan shrugged, still not fully understanding her point. "But we look good. Isn’t that what matters?"

Esme rolled her eyes, trying to keep her irritation in check. "Of course, you look good! But this isn’t just about appearances. It’s about creating the right atmosphere. We want to relax and enjoy each other’s company, not look like we’re here to discuss finances or give a TED Talk! Can you imagine the headlines? We might as well throw in a PowerPoint presentation while we’re at it!"

Ray tilted his head, feigning seriousness. "So you’re saying we should dress like you?"

"Yes! Exactly! Just something casual and relaxed!" she replied, gesturing animatedly.

"Or do you want tomorrow’s headlines to read ’Rose Reinguard and the Young Master of Aron Group Caught Having a Deep, Philosophical Discussion Over Lattes at a Cutesy Café’?" He raised an eyebrow, smirking. "I can already see the reporters salivating. They’ll turn it into a soap opera episode!"
