The Heiress Spoiled by Four Brothers and One Devilish CEO-Chapter 221 Just a Soap Opera, Right?
In the bedroom, Megan Shaw was lying on her side, listening to a piano tune.
When she noticed Tristan Reid walking in, she quickly turned over and closed her eyes. “Nova Tech, music.”
“You’ve got her perfume on you—guess my nose is to blame...”
Tristan let out a low chuckle. “I’m gonna take a shower first.”
As the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom, Nova Tech piped up, “Did Master really fall for someone else?”
Megan mumbled, “Do you really think men are any better than how they’re shown in K-dramas? ‘Oppa~ did you lag?’ Pull the plug already. Your boss is just another sad clown chasing glammed-up drama queens.”
“So what now?” Nova Tech was clearly frantic.
“What’s a fairy’s favorite move to punish men?” Megan’s eyes twinkled.
Nova Tech let out a shrill yelp. “No way—don’t tell me the fairy wants to turn Master into a eunuch?”
Megan burst out laughing. “Might be an option. You game?”
A drop of oil slid out from Nova Tech timidly. “For my fairy, I’d give my life... but I’d miss you too much. Let me cry for a bit, okay? If I end up getting dismantled, I might never see you again.”
Hearing the water stop, Megan sat up.
Tristan stepped out wearing only a towel around his waist, long legs moving casually.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist—pure temptation.
Megan leaned back against the headboard, watching as he knee-walked up to her and slipped under the covers, pulling her into his arms.
“Missed me?” he murmured. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Megan raised an eyebrow. “Missed how you’re out here planting a green meadow on my head?”
Tristan’s long fingers gently lifted her chin. “Do I really seem like that type?”
“Can’t say for sure.”
He leaned in, claiming her lips in a kiss. “You’re doubting me now? What did I tell you?”
“What?”
He guided her hand with his, pressing it down gently. “Told you this only responds to you.”
She squeezed slightly. “You dog! Where’d she touch you?”
Tristan gave a low hum. “Just brushed past my Adam’s apple.”
She let go, then climbed on top of him and straddled his waist. Tilting her head slightly, she bit down on his throat. “Could you not be more careful? Next slip-up and I’m slicing it clean.”
Tristan held her slim waist and placed a hand over her belly. “Did the little one move today?”
“Sure did. I even told the baby I’d find them a brand-new dad.”
Tristan jerked a little at her teasing tone. “You wouldn’t dare!”
Megan bit her lip, holding back a grin. “Tonight’s your punishment—no saying hi to the baby tonight.”
He lowered his head, resting it gently against her chest. “I’ll be more careful next time.”
Running her fingers through his half-dry hair, Megan sighed. “I get it. I know it’s tough for you, but... I still feel a little off.”
“Babe, I’ll wrap this up as soon as I can, okay?”
Tristan’s fingers brushed her flushed lips. “I missed you.”
“Missed which part, hmm?” Her finger traced the red mark on his neck.
“Missed you being all sweet on me.”
At that moment, Nova Tech bolted out of the room in a panic.
“Wait, wasn’t this supposed to be a horror movie? When’d it switch to a rom-com?”
Next day, CEO’s office.
Cameron Brooks was standing by the desk, giving his report. Liliana Martin walked in holding a coffee.
“Mr. Reid, your coffee. Less sugar, no milk.”
Tristan didn’t hide his praise. “Assistant Martin, you’re always so thoughtful. Can’t say the same for Cameron—he never gets this right.”
Cameron’s face darkened. He shot Liliana a glare and turned to leave.
Tristan glanced at Liliana. “By the way, Assistant Martin, got a boyfriend?”Liliana Martin twirled a strand of hair around her perfectly manicured finger, full of charm as she murmured, “Nope, never had a boyfriend before.”
Tristan Reid let out a slow, knowing smile. “Come to Xingcheng with me tomorrow.”
That was basically saying it loud and clear. Liliana gave him a low, sultry “mm,” eyes full of flirt.
The next morning, Megan Shaw was happily humming while packing his suitcase.
Tristan frowned. “What the hell did you pack?”
“Combat gear, of course! The ones I scored last time from the black market, brand new. And a mini umbrella too—standard wifey gear, you know?”
His face darkened to charcoal as he dumped everything out. “Stop fooling around.”
Megan dabbed some spit on her finger and ‘sadly’ tapped her cheek. “I’ve gone to all this trouble just to make sure my baby doesn’t end up with any half-siblings. Can’t you at least give me that? Or do you plan to divorce me and marry *that* woman? Oh heavens, what kind of soap opera have I landed in?”
Tristan nearly laughed out loud. “Are you seriously trying to kill me with this drama?”
She flashed him a cheeky grin. “Then take me with you. I’m bored out of my mind here. And if you really dare to slip up... don’t forget, Nova’s got that laser feature!”
He rubbed his temples, exasperated. “You really are out to drive me nuts.”
“Pretty please, hubby? I won’t get in your way, pinky swear!”
Seeing her give that puppy-eyed look, Tristan gave in with a sigh. “Fine. I’ll text you the address. The bodyguards will take you there.”
Megan wrapped her arms around his neck, tugged him down, and gave him a peck.
“Hmm, too bland. Not satisfying!”
Tristan grabbed the back of her head and kissed her for real.
Finally pulling away, he whispered, “Be good. See you tonight.”
Once he left, Megan finally got to serious packing. The lingerie Tristan had tossed aside earlier? Back into the suitcase it went.
Half an hour later, a bulletproof custom Range Rover rolled up to the house. Mr. Ford stood at the door with her suitcase as she stepped out.
“Ma’am, please don’t get upset. What matters most is the baby. No matter what happens, you’re the only one we serve.”
Megan patted his shoulder. “Thanks, Mr. Ford. No matter who moves into this house later... take care of them, okay?”
With that, she slipped into the backseat.
The bodyguard shut the door gently and the car pulled out from the mansion.
Mr. Ford watched the car disappear down the road and sighed deeply. “How did things end up like this? After all that they’ve been through, it’s the quiet days they can’t survive.”
Mrs. Jones clearly didn’t follow. “What are you talking about, Mr. Ford?”
He stomped his foot with frustration. “You’ll probably be serving a new young madam soon!”
“What?” Mrs. Jones’s eyes welled with tears. “Oh no, what kind of cruel twist is this?!”
Meanwhile, someone who was putting on a whole show was munching on nuts and enjoying the view outside the window.
Nova Tech piped up, “Girl, how are you not even a little heartbroken?”
Megan smirked. “Heartbroken? Nah, I’m busy having a blast.”
Nova mumbled to itself, “Yup, she’s definitely cracked. Totally lost it.”
Later that night, Xingcheng looked stunning under the snow. Tristan and Liliana finished their business dinner and were walking by the river.
Cameron Brooks happened to witness the scene and spit out, “What a damn player!”
Right then, his phone lit up.
He picked it up. “Mrs. Reid?”
