Chapter 646: Chapter 646: The Cat-Proofing Business_1

Cultivators, if they don’t die young, live extremely long lives.

Li Qing certainly did not want to end up caring for his close female friends in their old age.

It would be best if everyone could step into the Cultivation World together and continue living freely as a group.

Just as he was watching over those elixirs and planning how to distribute them, Tian Yue’e made a phone call.

"Qingzi, everything’s wrapped up over here, so you don’t need to come down. We’ve finished cleaning up and are about to head home. Where are you now?"

"At home!" Li Qing laughed, "What’s up? Checking in on me?"

"Yeah, checking in. Are you done yet?" Tian Yue’e said with a giggle.

"Not yet, but I’m almost finished," Li Qing replied. He still planned to study the elixirs he had brought back to determine their exact purposes and see if any were suitable for himself and the people around him.

If none fit the bill, he intended to find an opportunity to sell the excess for cash.

"Then give us a call when you’re done, and we’ll come over to help you tidy things up a bit," Tian Yue’e said.

"Oh, okay!"

After moving to his sister-in-law’s house today, Li Qing only tidied up roughly.

Many small and fragmented items had yet to be sorted out.

After hanging up, Li Qing took out the elixirs he had brought back from King Qi’s Underground Palace.

There were dozens of bottles, large and small.

Although he spoke of not being so overt, Li Qing and Shisan had nearly ransacked the entire storage room of King Qi’s elixirs.

Given that the cat had wreaked havoc on the place, taking them wasn’t too noticeable.

"Spring Breeze Elixir? East Wind Elixir? West Wind Elixir?"

Seeing the almost identical names, Li Qing was baffled on the spot.

What are these things, and they don’t even come with instructions for use?

As he was at his wit’s end and his head was buzzing with confusion, he suddenly remembered the computer that the Ninth Bureau had set up for him.

It had a database that might have information on the uses of these elixirs.

Sitting on the bare bed board, Li Qing booted up the computer, "Spring Breeze Elixir... used for intimate relations between men and women, East Wind Elixir... used for intimate relations..."

Reading the almost identical notes, Li Qing couldn’t help but laugh.

Damn, he had gone through so much trouble only to bring back a bunch of bedroom pharmaceuticals.

Does he need this stuff?

These three elixirs had the same purpose, but each had slightly different focal points.

The East Wind Elixir was for men, the West Wind Elixir for women, and the Spring Breeze Elixir for both, essentially functioning as an aphrodisiac, not really respectable medicine.

"Sell the East Wind Elixir, do I need this low-grade version when I have the Solidifying Spirit Elixir?" Li Qing put the East Wind Elixir aside, planning to sell it, while the other two kinds could be kept.

Although he had no immediate use for them, who knew when they might come in handy?

"Marrow Refining Elixir, this seems like something good," Li Qing murmured and started looking it up on the computer.

It didn’t disappoint him; much like its name, it was indeed something precious.

Its greatest effect was essence cleansing marrow refining, improving one’s constitution, allowing those who couldn’t cultivate before to step into cultivation.

"Just what I needed when I’m most in need of it, what a great item!" Li Qing exclaimed joyfully.

With this elixir, combined with the Solidifying Spirit Elixir, he should be able to improve the constitution of the women around him.

Li Qing searched through the assortment of bottles and jars and turned out a total of four bottles of Marrow Refining Elixir, totaling forty pills.

This thing, like the Immortality Elixir, varied from person to person.

Some people might experience effects after consuming two or three pills, but others might need to take several handfuls.

Li Qing counted the women around him on his fingers and suddenly felt that this stuff was a little scarce...

Only forty pills, not easy to divide!

After securing these few bottles of elixir, Li Qing checked the remaining pills one by one.

But to his surprise, the databases of Section Nine didn’t have any information on the remaining three types of elixirs.

"If Section Nine doesn’t have it, it looks like either the recipes have been lost, or these few elixirs are quite important and are closely guarded secrets of their respective families, not leaked to the outside," Li Qing mumbled, stroking his chin.

No matter the case, anything not found in the database of Section Nine was definitely of considerable value.

Unless, these few things were not of the proper sort and belonged to those elixirs that were banned.

Regardless, Li Qing still carefully packed them away.

He’d find an opportunity later to ask his unorthodox and casually cheap master, who had seen much and was knowledgeable, and might know the ins and outs of these three types of elixirs.

Only, the question of where to stash these items made Li Qing scratch his head again.

Although he still hadn’t figured out why the orange cat hadn’t snatched the elixirs at Lu Furong’s house,

It was obvious that the creature had come for these elixirs.

If he didn’t find someplace secretive to hide them, they would definitely vanish within a few days.

"Elixirs, shrine... cat paw prints, and another pill left behind..." Li Qing suddenly muttered to himself, his eyes lighting up ever so slightly.

He thought he understood the intention of that orange cat.

Could it be that it was afraid of the religious icons?

An orange cat leery of religious icons might sound far-fetched, but it seemed to be the only answer.

Li Qing had previously been stuck on the idea that the cat couldn’t reach them.

But now that he thought about it carefully, he suddenly realized how foolish that notion was.

A several-hundred-pound stone coffin had been easily slapped open by the cat, so how could it not be able to reach something just over a meter high?

Although it seemed unlikely, the only explanation seemed to be that shrine.

The rotund orange cat had followed them all the way to Lu Furong’s house, with the intention of snatching the elixirs back.

But upon discovering the elixirs placed next to the shrine which it couldn’t touch, in a huff, it made off with all their clothes instead and also left a rather distinct mark, as well as a single pill, perhaps as a clue.

It had quite a few tricks up its sleeve, but sadly, Li Qing’s brain sometimes short-circuited, and he had only just figured it out.

"Damn, I’m just lucky Secretary Zhou placed the shrine near the doorway, and I put them there on a whim that day, or else that damned fat cat would’ve already snatched these things away," Li Qing suddenly felt relieved upon realizing this.

But realization aside, there was no shrine in Li Qing’s house.

Where to hide these elixirs was still a problem.

"Damn it, to think I’m being troubled by a cat," Li Qing said with a self-deprecating chuckle.

"I’ll hide it in the well and see if you can fetch it out, you little rascal!"

Li Qing found a bucket, put all the elixirs inside, added an outer plastic bag, and then lowered it into the well with a rope.

He then sealed the well with plastic on the outside and placed a huge stone on top.

"To deal with you, I’ve indeed gone to great lengths," Li Qing said, patting his hands clean and laughing at himself.

Who would believe that he was being forced to hide things because of a cat?
