Chapter 643: Chapter 643: Big Brawl_1

Under the porch of the small shop, Han Mei watched the scene unfold with a smile in her eyes as she quietly wiped away the tears the wind had sandblasted into her eyes.

"Qingzi has really turned her life around now," Tian Yue’e whispered, "You’ll have good days ahead."

"Those will be your good days too," Han Mei replied with a smile.

"Right, right, our good days together," Tian Yue’e said with a chuckle.

"Thinking back on the changes over the past year, it always feels like I’m dreaming. The house has undergone a huge transformation, and the business is getting smoother and smoother."

Han Mei nodded gently.

It was exactly those bitter years and the happiness of the present that came to her mind just now.

And the one responsible for all these changes was none other than the little man under the big willow tree, who was now guzzling baijiu like it was water. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Small households like theirs never dared to dream of such things before Han Mei met Li Qing, the mischievous little man who liked to take advantage of her.

"Hey, should we give Qingzi a little surprise tonight?" Tian Yue’e suddenly suggested in a hushed tone.

"What kind of surprise?" Han Mei inquired.

"Yu Lan, Qin Wenjun, and I will get together, you work on Xingxing’s mindset early on, how about we give Qingzi a big free-for-all? He can’t handle it alone now. How about a five-on-one?" Tian Yue’e said with a crudely amused smile.

Han Mei’s face turned a shade of crimson, "You’re really getting more and more mischievous."

"He already likes it this way, and you’re even instigating it. What if he becomes completely addicted to this feeling and wants a five-on-one every day, what will we do then?"

"Then we just satisfy him, what else can we do?" Tian Yue’e replied nonchalantly, "We’re all clear on everything now anyway, there are no secrets between any of us, so why not indulge?"

"You two were the first to hook up with each other for a reason." Han Mei said with a blush and no words to add.

"Hurry up and get ready," Tian Yue’e pinched Han Mei’s perky behind and continued with a giggle, "I’ll go talk to Yu Lan and Qin Wenjun, tell them to bring out their secret weapons, and we’ll squeeze Qingzi dry tonight."

Beneath the dazzling lights around the big willow tree, Li Qing was downing drinks with Tang Jianmin and the others.

"Qingzi, do you have any other work on your hands? Take me on board too," Gao Li leaned in to ask.

"What are you talking about? Doesn’t building your house count as work right on your doorstep? Just have Old Tang count you in," Li Qing said.

Gao Li’s eyelids drooped slightly as he glanced furtively at Tang Jianmin, whose face was flushed from drinking too much, and whispered, "I don’t know what’s up with Old Tang, he just takes anyone as long as their craftsmanship is passable. But when it comes to me, I’ve approached him twice, and each time he makes excuses and tells me to come to you first. I figured I haven’t offended him or anything!"

"Actually, I wouldn’t want to bother you with such a small matter, but since Old Tang won’t open his mouth about it, I have no choice but to come to you."

Li Qing chuckled, "Old Tang is more meticulous and thinks too much. He isn’t brushing you off because you’ve offended him. It’s because you were helping me all along. It makes more sense to come directly to me than to him, understand?"

Gao Li frowned slightly, "Is there some meaning behind that?"

Li Qing couldn’t help but grin. With that level of emotional intelligence, no wonder Yang Xuelan was the one in charge at home.

"It’s okay, just come to me from now on," Li Qing said with a wave of his hand, "You don’t need to worry about anything else. Can you handle the work at the construction site though?"

Gao Li patted his chest vigorously, "Are you underestimating me or what, Qingzi? I’m a bona fide bricklayer. Back when others were earning ninety a day, I was making one hundred twenty."

That was ancient history.

Li Qing laughed, "Alright, as long as you can cope, that’s fine. I won’t worry about the rest; you deal with Old Tang for anything else."

"Come on, I’ll toast Qingzi," Gao Li said joyfully.

"My woman is almost six months pregnant now, and big expenses are just around the corner, so I need to buckle down and work hard!"

Li Qing pressed down on Gao Li’s cup, "It’s really great that you’re thinking this way. You’ll be a father soon, so you can’t afford to mess around anymore."

"That’s right, that’s right!" Gao Li chuckled with a he-he.

Actually, the mention of this made Li Qing melancholic.

If the child Yang Xuelan was carrying turned out to look like him and not Gao Li, wouldn’t that be courting disaster?

This matter, it was handled too hastily before.

People like Auntie Caili have moved far away, and even if the resemblance isn’t quite there, the issue wouldn’t be so complicated, and they definitely wouldn’t think of him any time soon.

But Gao Li was someone he saw all the time. If he started noticing something amiss, wouldn’t that be big trouble?

Damn, that’s not right!

He wasn’t the kind of man to get someone pregnant that easily!

All of a sudden, Li Qing remembered this very critical issue.

The women around him, like Tian Yue’e and Yu Lan, had been tilled by him I don’t know how many times, yet they showed no signs of pregnancy. How could Yang Xuelan get pregnant so easily after just a few times?

Li Qing thought deeply for a moment and came up with two possible answers.

It could be that Yang Xuelan and Auntie Caili got pregnant because he hadn’t started his "Cultivation" at that time.

Or, it had nothing to do with him at all.

He only did the deed, but the seed might still belong to Gao Li, a total misunderstanding.

Li Qing hoped it was the latter.

"You guys keep drinking, I’m going to take a leak!" Li Qing stood up, swaying slightly.

Although after starting his "Cultivation," alcohol had less and less effect on him.

Still, after drinking a lot, he could feel it.

By tonight, he had drunk more than a bottle of liquor.

If this had been before, he’d be so drunk he wouldn’t know dogs from people, but now he just felt a slight buzz.

He went behind the convenience store; after the renovation, the toilet was quite far.

After taking a leak, Li Qing was fastening his belt as he walked out, when Yang Xuelan, pregnant with a big belly, suddenly blocked his path.

Yang Xuelan had also come out with the others tonight, sitting at the women’s table.

"Qingzi, can you take my man under your wing? Let him do some work around the house if possible," Yang Xuelan whispered, "It’s OK if the wages are low. I can’t do any work now, and if he doesn’t earn any money, life will be difficult."

"Look at that, such a small matter, and both of you have to tell me," Li Qing said as he fastened his pants, "Gao Li has already told me about it, and it so happens that I need some extra hands. It’s not that I don’t want to hire him; it’s just that you two were working for me before, and it would be rude to just agree without consulting old Tang, you understand? It’s really nothing, old Tang is just too cautious in his dealings."

Yang Xuelan smiled gently, "I guessed it might be for that reason. After all, Tang Jianmin is known in the village for being a truly good person, but that bastard Gao Li just doesn’t believe it and even said you must have a problem with us."

"I’ve been thinking, and I don’t remember ever offending you in any way. If I have, it must be because I let you have me, but acted too coy to continue, it was just those few times back and forth, and maybe that upset you."
