The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 354 The Old Taoist’s Advice_1
Li Qing looked at the old Taoist priest in shock.
Indeed, the two incidents had ultimately converged into one.
"Priest, what happened to that thing now?" Li Qing asked somewhat nervously.
The old Taoist priest gave a grim smile, "After consuming so many talismans, naturally its soul has scattered and perished."
Li Qing instantly felt relieved.
The way the old priest had been throwing out talismans as if they cost him nothing was quite impressive.
"Priest, I have another small question, why did you use my blood earlier?" Li Qing asked.
Considering such a reclusive expert, he now dared not be too irreverent.
"It works faster," the old Taoist said indifferently, "so as to avoid using other methods."
"My blood actually has that kind of effect?" Li Qing asked in surprise.
The old Taoist stared at Li Qing and chuckled, "Not only is it effective, but finding a second person like you in the world isn’t easy. Otherwise, why would I say you’re meant to be one of our kind? Everything has been destined, whether for good or bad."
"Take an old man’s advice, enter the path of Taoism as soon as possible. That is the right path for you. Ordinary people who learn the peripheral Technique of Yin and Yang may encounter numerous ailments and shortcomings, let alone someone like you!"
"I have said all I have to say, and now it’s time for me to leave!"
"You’ll regret it when you suffer a great deal and finally come to your senses, but by then it will be too late."
The old Taoist dusted off his backside and walked away gracefully. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
In the darkness of the night, with a mere two flickers of his figure, he had disappeared into the hospital.
Li Qing sat blankly on the edge of the flower bed, covering his face with his hands.
When the talkative and debate-loving old Taoist revealed the truth.
Li Qing suddenly felt the heavy burden of that truth.
He did not believe before, he resisted, but after witnessing all the methods the old Taoist had shown.
He really could not bring himself to disbelieve!
"...But I will still persist with my own choice!" Li Qing said firmly.
He could not let go of his current life.
Even if it meant facing challenges as numerous as those in Xuanzang’s journey to the West, Li Qing wanted to fight his way through!
Once his resolution had fully solidified, Li Qing made phone calls to Han Mei and Wu Xingxing separately.
He explained the situation and told them not to wait up, as he would be returning very late.
After hanging up, Li Qing pulled himself together and went upstairs.
A crowd of doctors had gathered at the entrance to the intensive care unit.
Inside, there were even more...
The scene was as if all the doctors in the hospital had come here.
Li Qing tiptoed to get a better look, but since he could not see anything, he decided to sit down on a nearby chair.
Qi Xuelan came out of the restroom and, upon seeing Li Qing on the chair, quickly walked over and asked, "Qingzi, where did you find that old Taoist priest, do you have his contact information?"
"Didn’t you consult him for a divination last time? It’s the old priest from Nine Truth Palace," Li Qing replied.
"It’s him?!" Qi Xuelan was somewhat startled.
After a pause, she muttered to herself, "It’s actually him!"
"But how did he suddenly appear here?"
Li Qing shook his head, "I don’t know!"
But in fact, Li Qing suspected that the old Taoist had come looking for him specifically.
It just so happened that he encountered the ghostly thing from Mount Ziyun that he had once pursued.
"Qingzi, that old Taoist is definitely a reclusive master. The Qi family couldn’t handle the situation, but I heard Principal Qi say that the old Taoist just waved a Talisman, and Xiao Shu suddenly got better. It’s amazing!" Qi Xuelan said excitedly.
Li Qing nodded.
His feelings were even more direct.
Under the old Daoist’s steady steps, mountains and gorges felt as flat as the ground.
One could say it was like the work of a god.
How could an ordinary person possibly achieve this?
Li Qing shifted the topic and, nodding towards the hospital room, asked, "What’s happening here?"
"The doctors have gone mad," Qi Xuelan said plainly. "The illness they racked their brains over and couldn’t cure suddenly got better, and everyone wants to understand why."
"Did you tell anyone about the old Daoist?" Li Qing quickly asked.
He had forgotten to remind Qi Mengru.
Whether it was the old Daoist or that method of healing, word getting out would not be good news.
It would definitely lead to a whole string of troubles.
"Definitely not!" Qi Xuelan said. "Principal Qi specifically instructed us not to mention it."
Li Qing quietly breathed a sigh of relief, "Luckily Principal Qi didn’t rashly talk about it, otherwise, it wouldn’t be a good thing."
"Principal Qi’s family has someone who deals with these kinds of things, so he definitely knows how to handle it," Qi Xuelan said with a smile. "You don’t need to worry about it."
"That’s true!" Li Qing chuckled and turned his head to look at Qi Xuelan.
This woman had been deliberately keeping her distance from him, but now those two soft mounds were pressing against his arm, almost spilling out of her neckline.
Following Li Qing’s gaze, Qi Xuelan suddenly became aware of their proximity.
Her face turned red, and, as quick as lightning, she sat straight up, muttering, "It’s already happened, what’s the harm in leaning a bit more?"
"What do I have to be afraid of? I’m just regretful that someone didn’t want to lean in," Li Qing said, shaking his head deliberately.
Qi Xuelan’s lips curved into a smile, and she rolled her eyes at Li Qing before leaning against him again, "You’re such a scoundrel."
Li Qing chuckled, moving his arm slightly to feel that surging softness.
"Stop moving around, or I won’t lean on you!" Qi Xuelan glared and raised an eyebrow.
Li Qing laughed softly and didn’t continue to fidget.
One by one, the doctors left the ICU.
As they left, their faces seemed to be filled with numerous question marks.
Clearly, they hadn’t received the answers they wanted from Qi Mengru.
After the doctors had all gone, Li Qing and Qi Xuelan went into the hospital room together.
Qi Mengru was feeding her son. When she saw Li Qing coming in, she quickly put down the bowl and bowed to him.
"Li Qing, thank you, thank you so much!"
"I misunderstood you before and said such awful things, yet you didn’t get angry. Instead, you saved Xiao Shu."
"I really don’t know how to thank you. Aside from offering myself, you can ask for anything else!"
Li Qing stepped to the right, avoiding the direction of Qi Mengru’s bow, and said, "Principal Qi, you don’t need to do this."
"I understand your feelings. As for saving Xiao Shu, I just wanted to try and didn’t have full confidence. But fortunately, it truly worked in the end."
"No, no, I must show my gratitude," Qi Mengru said with utmost sincerity.
"If I don’t do something, I really won’t feel it’s right!"
"Principal Qi, there’s really no need," Li Qing urged. "Otherwise, let’s save it for later."
"If I run into any difficulties in the future and need Principal Qi’s help, I’ll ask then!"
Qi Mengru laughed lightheartedly, "Fine, if you don’t ask, I’ll express my gratitude in my own way!"
"You’re Xiao Shu’s lifesaver. Whatever I do for you is only right. My family couldn’t deal with the issue, which was actually... quite difficult."
