Chapter 189: 189

Ikenga with his omniscient view as an origin god was now looking at where his mortal home used to be. Unlike before, even though it was guarded by his two treants he was still able to get a view of what was happening at his former home.

But right after Wardewild changed to the spirit-like being, Ikenga noticed a huge change at his home. His home was no longer in clear sight almost like it was moved by with his connection no sight of his home was found.

Ikenga noticed a slight change in his acute sense when he paid close attention to where the house used to be. It felt like there was a layer there he couldn’t penetrate. Frowning Ikenga pushed a bit more when he even used his divinity.

As soon as his divinity was used, Ikenga received feedback that made immediately stop his forceful approach. In his senses, a newly born consciousness was actively trying to reach out to him, begging him not to push any further.

Ikenga stopped as he noticed how his nature divinity was so similar to the consciousness speaking back to him, Thinking deeply Ikenga eyes shone with green light as he spoke "You are the contract"

Receiving a nod back, confusion filled Ikenga’s eyes as he couldn’t understand how this was possible. The contract he was talking about was the contract Brix and Aqua signed to nature through him as they took the role of guarding the forest and its habitants, this act of theirs also pushes Ikem power forward.

His divinity has always been the focal and powerpoint of the contract where Aqua and Brix draw their power on to restore destroyed lands. With Wardenwild ascension Ikenga noticed a weird sensation and it seemed this contract was the cause.

Ikenga asked the new consciousness how it came to birth, It took a while before a look of understanding flashed in Ikenga’s eyes. At the same time a connection was built between Ikenga and Nana, his mother.

Ikenga, a bit uncertain, asked "Did you play a part in this mother?"

All he got in return was his mother calm soothing voice "It saddens me son that you are asking me of this but for your peace of mind, I wasn’t involved rather the world adjusted which is something you as the god of nature should know"

A look of shame flashed across Ikenga’s eyes as he apologized "I am sorry mother, hearing the condition of its birth had me questioning if I had been wrong all this time"

"You are still under the guise that beings like yourself function on whether something is right or wrong" Nana said as the connection was closed.

The consciousness birth can be said to be the sum of his choices as god since birth. As an Origin god of nature, Ikenga has always been connected to all plant life forms and animals since his birth. In his early years, he believed he understood how his power works which is why he always has let nature do its thing and not interfere.

Unlike Aqua and Brix, Ikenga has never in his life chosen to take action to preserve nature as in his eyes, it was a naturally occurring event that got it to its current state so he was merely observant of it. Even when he turned into an animal and lived with them, he always played the role of the animal he turned into and tried not to change anything.

This belief of leaving things be and let nature take its course empowered Ikem everyday just by existing. But this belief of his was also broken by himself unknowingly when he created the treants.

For Ikenga, it was just a simple experimentation of his godly power that gave rise to the birth of the treant. But that also raises the question if life can be something that is created on a whim, nature has its natural way of bringing about new life but Ikem’s action was opposite of natural as he brought about new life without the natural process of evolution.

This new life form of his, specifically Aqua and Brix after they got Ikem to his destination began their own Journey to understand the purpose for their birth. At first they noticed how there was no other lifeform like them, but this began changing after a while which they attributed to their creator.

They weren’t wrong to do this, as in a way it was true. Nature like his mother says always has a way of adapting during a drastic change which was what happened with the treants. Because there were no treant lifeforms, Nature, which is Ikenga in this case indirectly acted leading to more creation of treants.

His divinity responded to the treant needs spawning more treant, but that wasn’t the end as Ikenga created life-forms created their own understanding of their creator. This understanding led to a big change and at the same time gave the treants a new purpose in life.

Unlike their creator, a godly being who’s divinity subtly affects his decisions, the treants don’t have such limitations which is why Unlike Ikenga who preferred sitting by the side and letting nature take its place, they preferred to actively bring change to nature itself.

This thought process of theirs was soon proven wrong as they soon found out that nature is something that is easily changed and that their creator way still proved to be superior. Could be because of the mortal nature of this life form but they refused to accept the result so through their journey they tried to find a way to change nature before they came to the final conclusion that nature isn’t something that can be changed but instead guided.

Coming to this conclusion, they both made a ritual for their creator who is the god of nature to become this active guide they believe nature needs. Their creator Ikenga didn’t disappoint and so a contract was formed.

It can be said that Aqua and Brix were the first spirit-like lifeform, Only they haven’t reached the stage where they make full transition to their position. Nana gave a drop of her tear to Wardenwild to wash and shed away his former life form as a demon.

The contract formed at the time, had no consciousness and Ikenga was asleep when he accepted Brix and Aqua terms. The reason for the contract to gain consciousness was because of the slight change in way Ikenga and the treants handle nature.

Ikenga has always been the one who understands the need to guide nature but it is something he prefers not wasting time on as whether Nature is guided or not, he’s always winning and gaining more power.

This preference is where the change started as the contract was signed under the guise of nature being guided. So while Ikenga was sleeping, Brix and Aqua were fulfilling what they promised in the contract, guiding and leading nature even to the extent of creating a culu/sect dedicated to that.

Ikenga as the main focus of the contract wasn’t overlooking this process while in sleep or even after he woke up, so the contract connected to his divinity has been working and adjusting on its own till it gave birth to a will.

This will has been the one to take upon the prayers to Ikenga when a forest had been destroyed and prays for him to heal the forest or when farmers pray for a bountiful harvest.

Thinking back, Ikenga remembered when the king and prince of the silver kingdom prayed to him for destroying the forest, Ikenga remembered unconsciously dismissing it to the treants to handle. "No wonder, they are able to open up portals and use it so effectively to answer prayers" Ikenga thought to himself remembering the sight of a tenant walking through a green portal like his to heal the trees destroyed by the father and son.

The birth of this will came with a pocket dimension and under the influence of Brix and Aqua who has always taken Ikengas mortal home as their place of birth, the will made the house their the focal point of the dimension.

At the same time because of the existence of Brix and Aqua as unawakened spirits, the dimension now called "The Wild" by the two treants had an affinity for spirit-like creatures such as Wardenwild. Wardenwild’s existence as the first fully awakened spirit was the condition needed for the will to fully become active and with that it hid into the void which caused Ikenga’s home to go with it.

Even at the surprising event of things a name appeared in Ikenga’s mind "Panacea" a mortal creature who already served its purpose and gave him a son who is now doing great. The short reflection of his indifferent attitude to things aroused an emotion inside of Ikenga as he asked himself "I could have saved my son’s mother if I had bothered to try, right?" Ikenga said out loud to himself.
