The Guardian gods-Chapter 179

Ikenga and Mahu soon felt their presence and eyes disappearing. Looking at Mahu Ikenga opened up a portal which led to his mother’s realm but as he was about to walk through it, he was held back.

Looking back at Mahu who was holding his hand with her head down to hide her embarrassment, Ikenga heard her whisper "I am sorry?"

Putting both his hands on her face and raising it, Ikenga said "You have no need to apologize to me Mahu, I was no angry at you just disappointed at your lack of control"

She pushed herself a bit up looking at Ikenga, Knowing what she wanted. Ikenga smiled before giving her a kiss.

"I didn’t lose control, Ikenga. I Felt that I had to retaliate somehow as it seems that among the other gods, I just let things happen on my side" Mahu said, a bit frustrated.

Iikenga nodded hearing her word before answering "You aren’t the only one feeling that, we all do as we know sooner or later such things will also happen in our own continent and we can’t do nothing about it"

Mahu was about to say something, but Ikenga shushed her by putting a finger on her lips "I know what you are about to say, "Why does it seem like we don’t care?" We do sister only that we know how to stay back and observe which is something you should be doing"

Ikenga asked Mahu a question of his own "Remember how Jaws acted during his son’s war?"

Mahu nodded to which Ikenga then said "he stayed back and observed and also knew that we are observing and rather than diminish his statue and act like a pawn, he decided to invite us to his play, this way everyone is king and no one is a pawn. Once we saw his look alike interference in the war, we all have thought of the possibilities of that happening to our own children as well"

"Because we have thought of that and jaws have also thought of that which is why he invited everyone to his game unlike you. His play taught him and everyone of us a lesson without looking like a fool who goes first and after he plays everyone already know how to do it"

Pointing at the red dot, Ikenga said "Do you think you are the only one that wants to strike that down?"

"Most of us want to do it but we didn’t forget our mother’s words about rule, this is where you come in with your anger blinding you to do something unreasonable which if i had let happen, you will suffer the consequences and myself and the others will have learnt from your mistake" Ikenga said looking at Mahu.

Snuggling closer to Ikenga, Mahu said "I completely understand what you are saying brother, but at that moment I felt the need to save face"

Hugging her a bit tighter, Ikenga said "Saving face is something the weak and mortal do. Our position and power enables us to overlook such small things, also why bother save face when the same situation could have happened to any of us"

Mahu nodded and said nothing, Instead she pulled Ikenga’s hand as they walked through the portal appearing back in their mother’s realm, this time on their own with Nana having to take action.

Nana can be seen with a smile on her face directed towards both of them before she spoke up "I have to thank you for stopping your sister from making a big mistake or small considering the circumstances"

That got the others’ attention as Keles spoke up "So there really are consequences?"

Nana nodded "Indeed, as killing of gods according to the judges that pertains to the things of the divine and god is something of a crime. Especially in the case where the gods involved are in the same team"

Nana received no response back, but looking at her children’s faces, they were expecting her to continue. Opening her hand a mark similar to the one that struck her appeared only this time it had a writing in it that read as divine in the language of the gods.

"Björn is a god who’s throne has been raised by me, your mother, which puts him already in the same team as you. According to the rule you are only allowed to kill each other when there is a clear understanding of enmity between the involved gods"

"Mahu could present her case in front of the judges on how Björn was encroaching on something she calls her territory and doing whatever he wants, the Judges will deny her claims as they understand the nature that comes with different belief and it’s contradiction"

"Also the only things, you as gods can truly lay claim to is your realm nothing else. Anything outside that is free for all, If origin gods are allowed to lay claim on whatever they want then there is no need for the existence of other gods as they place you lay claim off is what sprung out these gods"

Nana proceed to point at the mark "From the judges point of view, You attacked another god unprovoked without no establishment of Björn wanting to be your enemy"

Crepuscular spoke up this time "But mother, we all know of his goal in our world. Isn’t that enough to see him as an enemy"

Nana smiled and said "That stands before he ascended to a god, now that he is a god it is different. His goal is now a dream he can have in his heart and never act on, once he shows or take action to show he still wants to achieve his goal then it by your right as guardian gods of this world to act and take him out"

Mahu spoke up this time as everyone turned to look at her "What would have been the consequences if i went through with my action"

Nana broke apart the mark as it turned into a small circle hole like a portal "First, you would be transported to the realm of the judges where by your right as an origin god will face judgment by the supreme judge for this universe. As an origin god you have limited choice for your punishment, the possibility of existence erasure is not even an option so if i were to guess you will be banished to a realm or dimension meant to imprison gods or sometime tasked with taking care of the new born child of kaos"

Nana saw the gods expression so she smiled "It doesn’t sound that right, well that is because you have forgotten the factor where your divinity is sealed away with only your immortality left and depending on the judgment, it may go for centuries or longer"

The expression of the gods changed a bit hearing that especially Ikenga, among other gods, he was the only one to know what it truly feels like not having your divinity available because of his encounter with the "Isolation curse"

Jaws whispered "If that is it for origin gods, I don’t want to imagine what it will be like for other gods"

Ikenga was tapping the table with thinking look on his face "Surely there are other ways, to avoid such problems when killing a god like making someone else do it"

Haering Ikenga words Nana began laughing hysterically, The gods looked at her surprised before she wiped her eyes apologizing " I am sorry, wasn’t laughing at you son rather your idea made me remember a very ancient story shared to me by other world consciousness"

Ikenga looked intrigued "Mind sharing it with us mother"

Nana, waved her hand on the table as it began showing a movie like scene where a mortal humanoid creature clearly not human was facing off against a god. The mortal was strong and the god is equally as strong. At the end of the long fight the mortal managed to kill the god before a godhead replica came from the god’s corpse merging with the mortal.

At the same time of merging, the screen changed rapidly like it was fastforwarding but it wasn’t. Instead it was showing how every mortal in that world went into a blank state before going back to normal.

The scene changed back to the humanoid who merged with the godhead now healed up and using the divinities of the godhead but there was no happiness on its face at that, soon the scene changed the humanoid was besieged by another humanoid that looks like it and some not. One of them was able to deal a decisive blow killing the humanoid when the same godhead emerged merging with the new humanoid. Unlike the last merging, this one was different as planet consciousness appeared, raising the new god throne. At the same time the planet consciousness seems to look beyond smiling at the gods watching the view.

Nana smiled back, waving away the screen. Jaws a bit flabbergasted said "She smiled at us, does that mean she could see us"

Nana nodded "That is one of the oldest planet consciousness in our universe, this story was something she shared with other planet consciousness. As for her looking back at us, it was nothing too amazing as once you reach a certain level you know immediately whenever things about you is brought up no matter where or which universe"
