The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 342- How Many?
Chapter 342: Chapter 342- How Many?
After getting the fruit, Mar-Dule hesitated but eventually decided to put the fruit away. It took all the willpower he had not to eat it right now.
"By the way, have you decided on the name of this fruit?"
Yoon-Jae asked, and Sol shook his head, but he then thought for a moment then said.
"I haven’t thought of one, but if I had to give it a name, I would probably go with Life Essence Fruit or simply Essence Fruit."
"Essence Fruit is good."
Yoon-Jae said as he took another bite of his Essence Fruit.
"Sol, when you’re Innate Dharma produces more, can you give me a few?"
Crunch!
Yoon-Jae took an extra hard bite of his Essence Fruit as he turned to glare at Mar-Dule.
"Damn fatty, don’t be so greedy."
Mar-Dule glared back at Yoon-Jae, but soon a malicious grin appeared on his face as he said.
"Bastard Yoon-Jae don’t forget our bet. You better prepare to call me Big Brother for life after we return to the Academy!"
Yoon-Jea frowned and looked at Mar-Dule with a confused look on his face.
"What the hell are you talking about? Are you really trying to shamelessly fabricate some bet we never had?"
Mar-Dule’s grin faded to be replaced by a scowl.
"Who’s really more shameless here, you or me?"
Yoon-Jae shook his head before turning back to his book and completely ignored Mar-Dule.
Mar-Dule was annoyed, but he soon turned back to Sol with an expected look on his face.
Sol smiled and nodded.
"Sure, I’ll give you some when my Innate Dharma produces more."
Mar-Dule’s expression lit up, but Yoon-Jae said.
"Sol, I don’t think these Essence Fruits are something that you should be giving out so casually."
Sol was still smiling as he responded.
"It’s okay, they’re only good for lessening my hunger if I eat them. But for you guys, it has better uses. Yoon-Jae, I’ll give you some too."
Yoon-Jae paused then nodded after a moment.
Even though he said all of that, in truth, he also wanted to ask Sol for some. Mar-Dule might have said they have similar healing properties as a Tier 7 Healing Pill, but his alchemy skills were non-existent.
In truth, the healing effects might be close to a 9th Tier Healing Pill. However, Yoon-Jae would have to do some tests to get an accurate answer.
Turning to Mar-Dule, Sol asked.
"About the Academy, what’s it like now?"
Mar-Dule’s expression became solemn.
"It’s in complete chaos. As soon as those Royals and Church fools came, they started challenging disciples left and right."
"I assume the top bosses in Academy aren’t doing anything to quell the chaos?"
Mar-Dule snorted.
"Rather than stopping it, they’re stoking the fire with the changes they’ve made. Now even if you’re in the Spiritual Realm you can still participate in Martial Hall Arena Rankings. I didn’t even have to make a fuss about being allowed to participate after I got back. Not only that, but rumors are also circulating that they’re planning to restructure the entire Academy. I’m not sure what those changes will be, but by how things are progressing, it seems like they’re trying to remove the line between Mortal Realm and Spiritual Realm cultivators."
After a moment, Yoon-Jae said.
"That makes sense considering the abnormal circumstance."
Sol titled his head.
"What do you mean?"
Yoon-Jae placed down his book and sat up. He then looked over at Sol and explained.
"You’re not from Jianghu or either of the races so you might not have noticed. But it’s very obvious for us."
Mar-Dule nodded, while Yoon-Jae went on to explain.
"If you compare our generation to the ones before, then you’ll realize our geniuses far surpass them in terms of numbers. But not only that, they’re stronger. Take someone like this fatty for example. If you picked him up and dropped him in any of the previous generations, he would have undoubtedly been the number one genius. In fact, the gap might have been so huge he could crush anyone his age with a single finger."
Mar-Dule was at first annoyed at Yoon-Jae, but upon hearing his later sentence he was quite pleased. He even saw Yoon-Jae in a good light for a bit. However, that was completely ruined by his next words.
"Of course, he’s a special case since he cheated and jumped over the Earth Expanse Realm. But still, the same thing goes if you place any of the top geniuses now in the previous generations. And to really understand why this is so shocking, a generational genius is someone who only appears once every five or ten generations. Those kinds of people go on to dominate everyone the same age as them and even those older who are of the previous generation. However, if you were to use generational geniuses from the past as a measurement, how many geniuses do you think would be qualified for that title in our generation currently?"
Sol thought for a moment but then opted to just ask.
"How many?"
"At least ten."
Yoon-Jae said as he held up all ten fingers.
"However, that’s not including, me, you, this fatty, and Beyond-Ho. Rather, I’m referring to the ten people from the Holy Sects and Great Clans who are on the Heaven Arena Rankings in the Academy."
Sol somewhat expected this answer as even he acknowledged Woo-Seong’s talents, and he was only fourth on the Heaven Arena Rankings. However, Sol was still shocked, nonetheless.
"You’re forgetting my sister and Dark Fairy."
"Also, Ji-Hoon and the others."
Mar-Dule and Sol said, resulting in Yoon-Jae shaking his head.
"That’s why I said there is at least ten. Those ten are the basis. Who knows if there is another freak like that Ji-Hoon who has a 9th Tier Innate Dharma sealed within them? For example, the person that’s 9th on the Heaven Arena Rankings isn’t from either the Six Holy Sects or Five Great Clans, but rather a second-rate Sect called Spring Valley Mountain. His name is-"
"Du Gonghua."
Mar-Dule finished for Yoon-Jae, his eyes flashing as he rubbed his chest.
"You fought him?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Sol asked and Mar-Dule nodded.
"When I returned to the Academy four months ago, I suppressed my cultivation down to the Earth Expanse Realm and tried to climb to first place on the Heaven Areana Rankings. It was easy reaching the Heaven Arena as everyone I was matched with was still in the Mortal Realm, so they forfeited. But once I got to the Heaven Arena and beat Su-Jin who’s tenth on the rankings for a second time, I was blocked by that bastard. In the end, I almost had to reveal my true cultivation base. I had a hard time defeating him because of his strange Defensive Martial Skill that reflects my attacks."
Mar-Dule face became a bit gloomy as he remembered his fight with Du Gonghua.
"What rank are you now in the Heaven Arena?"
Sol asked curiously.
Mar-Dule grinned and puffed out his chest as he said.
"Of course, I took first place, did you doubt my words?"
Yoon-Jae immediately snorted.
"Aside from that Su-Jin and Du Gonghua, who else did you fight in the Heaven Arena?"
Mar-Dule glared at Yoon-Jae but soon turned his head to the side and coughed in his fist. He was then heard muttering.
"The other Rankers were in seclusion, so they didn’t show up when I issued a challenge."
"So, you took the number one spot by default?"
"Bastard Yoon-Jae, so what if I did? Does it matter how I got the number one spot? I said I would, and I did!"
As Mar-Dule glared at Yoon-Jae, Sol suddenly asked softly.
"What about those from the Western Region? Did you fight them?"
