Ling Feng shouted from outside, while Chen Yuhe chuckled mischievously inside the house, calling out loudly, "Then I don’t care, I’ve been in a bad mood lately and I need to temporarily requisition this place to blow off some steam, you’d better behave, or else... or else..."

For a moment, she actually couldn’t think of anything that could threaten Ling Feng, so she paused: "Anyway, I’m just going to stick with you, can you really throw me out?"

Outside, Ling Feng, feeling helpless, shook his head: "Look, sister, you can requisition all you want, but you can’t just close the door day and night, can you? I still have a lot of stuff in my house!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the door opened, and Chen Yuhe’s face lit up with joy: "You agree?"

"Can I even say no?" Ling Feng rolled his eyes in annoyance.

Chen Yuhe completely ignored his expression, made a victorious ’V’ sign with her hand, and then said, "The rooms inside are mine, I’ll only close the doors when I sleep at night, the rest of the time it’s open to you, that’s fair, right?"

"Very fair," Ling Feng replied with a face of resignation.

However, in his heart, he felt increasingly that something was not quite right!

It was only a twenty or thirty-minute car ride to the county town, but this girl didn’t go home, instead stubbornly staying at his place—it was clear there was something up!

After a thought, seeing Chen Yuhe’s face full of triumph, he couldn’t help but smirk and tease, "Hey, even though you can lock the door at night, don’t forget this is my house. You came here on your own, aren’t you afraid I might... you know?"

"You wouldn’t dare!"

Chen Yuhe retorted with her little chest puffed out and her face slightly blushing.

"Heh, who knows, what if at night I turn into a Werewolf and... get beastly?"

Ling Feng scrutinized her up and down with a lecherous look, speaking in a frightful tone.

Chen Yuhe stared in shock, her eyes widening. After a moment, the rims of her eyes started to redden, and soon her eyes brimmed with tears!

Ling Feng was taken aback at the sight and quickly waved his hands with a smile: "Come on, I’m just scaring you, is there any need to get this scared?"

"You all... you all bully me! Waaaaah!"

Tears fell from Chen Yuhe’s eyes as she turned and ran into the inner room, then threw herself onto Ling Feng’s bed and started to cry!

Damn it!

Ling Feng was dumbfounded, not anticipating that a playful remark of his would cause such a huge problem, so he quickly chased after her.

Chen Yuhe lay on the bed, burying her head in her arms and sobbing heavily, her slender figure unmistakably on display. Moreover, because she was wearing a short skirt, her two long, straight legs were sprawled out on the bed.

Ling Feng’s eyes went round, although he knew this was not the time to appreciate the view. Feeling embarrassed, he said, "I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. I won’t scare you anymore, alright?"

Chen Yuhe’s body heaved slightly, and she continued to emit soft sobs, seeming unappeased.

Ling Feng didn’t know what to say next and just sat there blankly, his gaze involuntarily traveling from her little white socks all the way up under her skirt.

After a while, Chen Yuhe’s crying stopped, then she secretly lifted her head and sneaked a glance over.

Seeing that Ling Feng was still there, she started crying again!

...

Ling Feng was speechless. It was too obvious—she was clearly faking it!

So he sighed: "Alright then, if you won’t forgive me, I’ll just call Jiaolan to come and talk to you."

The moment he finished speaking, Chen Yuhe immediately sat up from the bed: "Don’t!"

Her face was still streaked with tears; she had indeed cried, but not for long, otherwise, the tear marks wouldn’t be dry.

The recent sobbing was all an act. Ling Feng, quite helpless, could only look at her and ask, "Why not?"

Chen Yuhe sat at the head of the bed, lowering her head, "Nobody knows I’m here at your place, and if my cousin asks, you absolutely must tell her that you haven’t seen me, keep it a secret for me!"

"Oh? And why’s that?" Ling Feng was immediately curious. The two were as close as sisters—why the secrecy?

"I, I don’t want to say, just let me stay here for a few days, at worst I’ll pay you for room and board!" Chen Yuhe pleaded pitifully.

Seeing the beseeching look on her small face, Ling Feng’s heart softened, "Alright, I promise, but if Jiaolan blames me later, you’ll have to help me out!"

"Don’t worry, my cousin won’t be too angry, it has nothing to do with her!" Chen Yuhe immediately stood up, saying cheerily.

Ling Feng sighed and gave her a stern look, "Go wash your face, you look like a little tabby cat!"

After he spoke, he turned and left for the outer room.

A whole basket full of Yuan Ling Grass, he had planned to start processing it that afternoon, but with Chen Yuhe’s arrival, he had to wait until she was asleep at night.

With his original plans disrupted, Ling Feng had no choice but to make a fire and cook, deciding to get lunch out of the way first.

Chen Yuhe quickly came out too, with her face washed and her shorts changed, revealing even more of her thighs!

Ling Feng turned his head for a glance and almost found it hard to look away, saying with a wry smile, "You really do like showing off your legs, huh!"

"Do they look good?" Chen Yuhe seemed to forget the earlier matter, glancing at him and asking.

"They do look good, but if you keep this up, I’m going to get ’hot-headed’ easily!" Ling Feng said with a laugh.

"Hey, you’re a doctor after all, just take some heat-clearing herbs!" Chen Yuhe smirked teasingly.

After speaking, she squatted down to look at Ling Feng, "Do you need my help with anything?"

"Just having you sit by is enough. The house is a bit shabby, and there’s not much good food to offer. I hope you don’t mind," Ling Feng said.

Chen Yuhe hugged her knees, pouting, "I’m not that delicate, as long as there’s food to eat I’m fine!"

Hearing this, Ling Feng chuckled, "Indeed, easy to please!"

After giving him a sideways glare, Chen Yuhe asked, "How’s your farm doing now? Can I take a tour later?"

"No rush, let’s tour after eating. Wang Cai is a bit unstable at the moment; I wouldn’t want him to accidentally hurt you," Ling Feng said with a smile.

"Wang Cai?"

Chen Yuhe was startled after hearing this, "Is that your dog?"

"Not a dog, it’s a wolf I’m raising. I’ll accompany you to see him later," Ling Feng said.

"A wolf?"

Chen Yuhe’s eyes widened, taken aback.

However, after listening to Ling Feng’s explanation that Wang Cai had always been obedient, and how he had been in the village without causing any harm, she was somewhat reassured.

The two of them then had lunch together. Ling Feng didn’t go out of his way to prepare anything special because of Chen Yuhe’s visit—it was just a simple homemade meal.

And the young lady had no pretensions, picking up her bowl and eating heartily, clearly enjoying the meal and probably really hungry.

After finishing the meal, they cleaned up the dishes and then headed to the farm through the backdoor together.

Ling Feng called out for Wang Cai, but there was no response. He went to check his den and found the creature lying there, looking listless and spiritless.

The treasure it had found in the mountains was gone, and it was as if it had lost its soul, which was quite surprising to Ling Feng.

He thought for a moment and decided to study the object that night. If it was of no use to him, he would simply return it to him.
