Ling Feng made a noise of acknowledgment but hadn’t thought that far ahead; he was only pondering how to make all these beautiful women his own!

"If you’re not busy, could you keep an eye on the project for me? I need to head back," Li Shiyun said upon seeing him deep in thought.

With a sly smile and a hint of pleading, Ling Feng asked, "Well, if the Village Chief isn’t busy, could you help me watch over it for another couple of days? I’m a bit tied up these days!"

"What? You want me to watch over it for these few days?"

Li Shiyun’s voice suddenly rose by an octave, and her face flushed with anger!

Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly smiled apologetically, "My apologies, Village Chief it’s just that I’m about to embark on a major endeavor. If it works out, we might even launch a new project!"

"What new project? Isn’t a breeding farm enough to keep you busy?" Li Shiyun asked, puzzled.

"I can’t tell you before it’s successful, but you’ll know in a few days! I’m heading off now, ha!"

With that, Ling Feng uttered a word, hopped onto an electric tricycle, and left without even locking the door!

Li Shiyun was fuming, feeling as though she had unwittingly become this kid’s employee.

But it was too late to call him back now, the tricycle sped off quickly and vanished at the entrance of the village in a blink.

With no other choice, Li Shiyun could only shake her head, lock Ling Feng’s door, and walk towards the backyard.

Meanwhile, Ling Feng revved up the throttle and headed straight for the county town!

Arriving at his destination, he locked the tricycle in a field and then headed up the mountain.

This place wasn’t far from that old man’s house, and if he could find wild morels on the nearby mountains, Ling Feng believed he could too!

So now, he had come to the mountain to try his luck and to study how they actually grew. With the help of his "Classic of the Divine Farmer," he wondered if he could achieve artificial cultivation!

If he managed to pull this off, it would definitely be a lucrative project!

It was already past three in the afternoon, and Ling Feng was prepared to spend the night on the mountain. As soon as he entered the mountain, he kept moving, heading deeper into the wilderness.

This area was part of a mountain range on the southern outskirts of the county town, a place he had never visited before, so he wasn’t familiar with the terrain. While walking, he looked around, searching for suspicious signs.

Things were, of course, not that easy. Ling Feng searched for a long time through bushes and grass, and not only were morels hard to find, but even ordinary mushrooms were rare!

However, he did encounter plenty of pheasants and hares, but he’d lost interest in these things. Even if he caught them, he was too lazy to take them down the mountain—it was too much hassle!

Until the sun was about to set, Ling Feng hadn’t found anything, so he settled down in a nearby cave, planning to spend the night there and continue his search at dawn.

This was his first time spending the night in the deep mountains, but as a child who grew up in the mountains, he didn’t care about such things. All he needed was food, water, and a bonfire to get through the night.

Ling Feng gathered some dry firewood and found some thicker dried branches from the woods, quickly starting a bonfire.

Dinner was even simpler; he caught a pheasant, cleaned it at a creek in the valley, and began roasting it over the fire.

After the sky had fully darkened, the rich scent of roasted meat wafted out from the cave and slowly spread into the distance.

All of Ling Feng’s attention was on the roasted pheasant. Watching the skin turn golden brown and the dripping fat spurting into the flames, he was ready to feast!

But unexpectedly, when he looked up, he found a wolf squatting at the entrance!

He didn’t know when the creature had arrived, squatting there with its bright green eyes fixed intently on the pheasant in his hand!

Ling Feng was startled and immediately went on full alert; he knew that wolves were pack animals, and although only one had appeared thus far, a whole group might arrive at any moment!

So he hurriedly took a piece of charcoal and threw it at the entrance, hoping to scare the wolf away!

But the wolf simply dodged to one side and then crouched down again, its gaze burning with hunger as it stared at the roasted pheasant, its tongue hanging out and actually dripping with saliva!

"Hey, you’re quite persistent!" Ling Feng was at a loss for words and suddenly remembered he knew the Taming Technique. He had only used it on pheasants and wild rabbits before, and he had no idea whether it would work on this wolf!

So he tried using the Taming Technique on the wolf, and in just an instant, the ferocious look in its eyes softened, and its aggression was no more.

Seeing this, Ling Feng was overjoyed. Not only was the Taming Technique effective on small animals, but it could also tame large wild beasts—too domineering!

He then said, "You want to eat, right? If you behave, I might actually share half with you!" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

The wolf looked up at him, seemingly understanding his words, and immediately lay down, gazing at Ling Feng with pitiful eyes.

Seeing this, Ling Feng chuckled and said to it, "Since you understand, come over here then!"

Upon hearing this, the wolf got up immediately, walked over with drooping eyes and a tucked tail, and lay down beside him.

Ling Feng was secretly delighted and felt that since he had made a promise, he should not break his word. Thus, he tore the roasted pheasant in half and handed it over.

Taming a wolf to become a follower gave him a great sense of achievement.

The wolf hummed lowly, caught it with its mouth, and gobbled up half the pheasant in just a few bites.

Ling Feng had only taken a couple of bites when he turned and saw the wolf looking straight at him, leaving him speechless!

"Don’t tell me you didn’t even taste it before swallowing it down?"

Knowing that the wolf definitely couldn’t speak human language, Ling Feng felt helpless but thought its eyes looked rather pitiful, so he simply handed over the other half of the roasted pheasant he had in his hand.

After seeing it gulp the food down again, Ling Feng shook his head and said, "Alright, if you’re still not full, I’ll go look again. It’s just that it’s hard to find prey now that it’s dark."

He had barely finished speaking when the wolf suddenly got up and dashed out!

Ling Feng was taken aback and wondered what was happening. Had the wolf eaten his roasted pheasant and then just left now that there was nothing more?

But after just a few minutes, the wolf reappeared at the cave entrance, carrying two wild hares in its mouth!

"So you went hunting! It looks like you also have a taste for cooked food," Ling Feng laughed heartily, picked up the two wild hares the wolf had put down, and began to clean them efficiently.

Once both hares were roasted, he immediately passed one to the wolf, which was drooling profusely: "Eat up!"

A man and a wolf eating meat heartily in a cave late at night—if anyone had passed by and seen this scene, they would have definitely been startled.

After eating one hare, the wolf was full and lay down obediently beside Ling Feng’s legs.

"If you’re willing to hang out with me, follow me tomorrow. You’ll eat meat every day from now on!" Ling Feng found this amusing and said with a laugh.

The wolf looked up at him and, to his surprise, nodded!

This startled Ling Feng and he exclaimed, "Damn, are you really that clever?"

The wolf lay back down, resting its head on the ground, its eyes whirling this way and that as if it were watching and listening carefully.

Ling Feng had kept dogs when he was a child, and seeing the wolf’s behavior being no different from that of a domestic dog, he said with a smile, "In that case, I’ll give you a name. Let’s call you Wang Cai!"
