After he hung up the phone, Ling Feng turned his head towards Lin Xue, "These people won’t take any action tonight; I reckon they will make their move tomorrow afternoon..."

Hearing the completion of his report on tomorrow’s itinerary for those individuals, Lin Xue pondered for a moment, "This information is very valuable, so there’s no need for us to keep a dead watch here anymore!"

"Yeah, it’s a waste of energy. Let’s get a good rest tonight and deal with tomorrow when it comes!" Ling Feng nodded.

Although they had decided on this, Lin Xue still said, "But we can’t let our guard down tonight. Ling Feng, you should stay and keep an eye out anyway!"

"No need, I’ll do it!" Before Ling Feng could respond, Du Song spoke up first.

"Right, the two of us can take turns on shift. You two go back and rest. If there’s going to be a big fight tomorrow, we’ll need the boss to take action!" He Bing chimed in.

Lin Xue didn’t turn around but she rolled her eyes secretly!

These two really know how to play, obviously trying to set us up to be alone together; they just love watching the drama unfold!

But she couldn’t really say anything and could only pretend she hadn’t heard, waiting to see what Ling Feng would say.

And this guy just nodded without even thinking, "Then we’ll trouble you guys!"

Lin Xue was speechless.

"We’ll leave the car for you. Lin Xue and I will go to the hotel where these people are staying and book two rooms!" Ling Feng continued.

"Okay, whenever they leave, that’s when we’ll head back!" Du Song agreed with a nod.

With things having reached this point, Lin Xue didn’t find it appropriate to say anything more and got out of the car alongside Ling Feng.

Afterward, the two returned to the hotel and went to the reception desk together upon entering the lobby.

Despite trying to act as if everything were normal on the surface, her heart pounded wildly, and Lin Xue couldn’t help thinking, once we’re upstairs, is he going to do anything to me?

Although she was mentally prepared, the thought of what could happen made her nervous.

Fortunately, her professional demeanor allowed her to remain calm on the outside, and after completing the check-in, she followed Ling Feng upstairs.

Sure enough, as soon as the room door was opened, Ling Feng naturally wrapped his arm around Lin Xue’s shoulder and they entered the room together.

Just as her breathing became nervous and rapid, Ling Feng said with a smile, "You sleep first, I’ll step out for a bit."

Lin Xue looked up in confusion and asked, "Where are you going?"

"Luo Qianyu has texted me again, insisting I meet her; she says she has something important to discuss. I’ll go see what she’s up to!" Ling Feng explained.

"Oh."

Upon hearing this, Lin Xue felt a sudden sense of disappointment and lowered her head.

Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly said, "Don’t think too much, I’ll be back soon; it definitely won’t take long!"

"Mhm."

"I’m off then."

Ling Feng smiled, turned around, and left the room.

Watching the door close behind him, Lin Xue sighed, feeling a mix of relief and disappointment; it was a complex sensation that was hard to describe in words.

After Ling Feng went downstairs, he called Luo Qianyu, "I’m available now, where are you?"

"Di Hao Hotel, I’ve been waiting for you for hours!" Luo Qianyu said, sounding annoyed.

Ling Feng shook his head resignedly, "Got it, I’ll be there soon!"

After finishing, he reached out to hail a taxi.

As he traveled, he pondered in his heart, when he left Shiliu Village, Luo Qianyu had said to find her when he got to the provincial city, and now she was so eager to meet him, not caring that it was already late. What could be so urgent?

Was there some kind of trick?

After getting out of the car, Ling Feng looked up at the hotel sign and thought to himself.

Then he went upstairs and arrived at the door of Luo Qianyu’s room.

Ling Feng took a deep breath, not knowing what the scene inside the room would be like, whether there would be any surprises waiting for him.

After calming himself slightly, he knocked on the door.

Footsteps came from inside, and then the door opened. Luo Qianyu was wearing an oversized T-shirt, her long legs very conspicuous as they were exposed.

Although she was dressed seductively, her gaze wasn’t very friendly; she glanced sidelong at Ling Feng and then turned around to go back into the room.

Seeing this, Ling Feng chuckled, his eyes lingering on her silhouette for a moment before he closed the door and entered.

The guest room was very large, just the living room alone was almost as big as his entire house.

Luo Qianyu sat on the couch, her legs crossed at the ankle, swinging her little feet back and forth without speaking, but her puffed cheeks indicated she was sulking!

Ling Feng smiled and sat down to ask, "Insisting on seeing me, what exactly do you want to say?"

"Didn’t we agree on this before, how come you didn’t let me know when you arrived in the provincial city?" Luo Qianyu asked.

"I had other things to deal with, and I wasn’t sure about the timing. If I had informed you and then didn’t show up, what then?" Ling Feng said with a smile.

Luo Qianyu looked at him, "Really? When you decided to come, you didn’t think of me at all?"

"Uh, I did think of you, I was planning to give you a surprise when I had the time!" Ling Feng blurted out spontaneously.

"Oh, that’s more like it!"

Luo Qianyu gave him a sidelong look, her expression easing slightly, then she stood up, walked over to Ling Feng, and turned a circle in front of him, "Do I look pretty?"

"Uh, pretty, very pretty!" Ling Feng was startled for a moment, then smiled awkwardly.

To his even greater surprise, upon hearing she was pretty and feeling satisfied, she stuck out her tongue playfully, then giggled and sat on his lap!

With her arms around Ling Feng’s neck, Luo Qianyu looked at him seriously, "So, you like me?"

Ling Feng, now a bit excited by the teasing, still managed to hold back, saying with a smile, "I like you, but not in the way between a man and a woman, don’t get the wrong idea!"

"Hm? Why?"

Luo Qianyu bit her lip softly, her eyes enchanting, looking very charming and cute.

"No reason, you’re too young, and besides, I have enough girlfriends!" Ling Feng chuckled.

There was no need to hide it; she had stayed at his place for many days and must have noticed!

As expected, Luo Qianyu pouted, "I don’t care about those, and how am I too young? Isn’t this quite big?"

As she spoke, she also thrust her chest forward confidently.

Ling Feng’s gaze became somewhat fixed; it seemed that under her T-shirt, she wasn’t wearing a bra!
