Chapter 310: Chapter 310 Bulletproof Vest

Thick smoke rose, and Ling Feng used several broad leaves as makeshift fans, furiously fanning the smoke into the cave entrance. Moments later, a roar erupted from within!

"Let’s see how long you can hide!"

Ling Feng’s playful spirit surged, and he fanned even more vigorously.

A few minutes passed, and the thick smoke had filled the cave. Then, like a flash of white, that gigantic creature could no longer bear it and charged out!

"Still trying to run!"

Ling Feng immediately leaped to action, and the Short Dagger gleamed with a cold light!

Whether it was the smoke that had confused it or not, the creature charged out headlessly, heading straight for him, and ran right into the blade!

"Pfft!"

Aiming for its eyes, Ling Feng thought to himself, so you think you have tough skin? Then I’ll stab you in your weakest spot!

Indeed, the Short Dagger pierced in an instant, sinking to the hilt!

"Augh!"

A final, agonizing scream echoed to the heavens!

The white creature bellowed for the last time, and with a thud, its enormous body fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and died!

Ling Feng chuckled, casually wiping the blood from the blade onto his clothes, and then squatted down, patting its head, "Trying to fight with me? You’re still too green!"

Although it was dead, he still received a notification: the gigantic creature was originally named Jungle Hunter, a first-order beast.

He slashed at its white fur with his Short Dagger and found it indeed impenetrable, making Ling Feng think it was a pity since such sturdy skin must be useful for something.

As he pondered how to dissect it to see if there was anything valuable, Wang Cai came over with his two sons, eyes fixed on him with eager anticipation.

Ling Feng was puzzled, "What’s the meaning of this? You want to eat it?"

Wang Cai nodded.

"Though I don’t mind giving it to you, with skin this thick, can you..."

Ling Feng hadn’t finished speaking when he suddenly stared with wide eyes, astonished, because Wang Cai had bitten into it, tearing open the skin of the first-order Jungle Hunter!

"Holy shit, your teeth are pretty impressive!"

Ling Feng was speechless; his Short Dagger, sharp as it was, couldn’t compare to Wang Cai’s teeth, which was quite embarrassing!

As the fur was torn open, Wang Cai, along with Da Qiang and Xiao Qiang, bowed their heads to rip and devour with gusto.

Thinking that eating the beast might be beneficial for them, and given the gory scene, Ling Feng didn’t continue to watch. Instead, he turned to look at the dark cave entrance.

This was probably its lair, but were there any treasures inside?

After a moment’s thought, he picked up a piece of wood from the ground, using it as a makeshift torch, and entered the cave.

A few minutes later, he came out looking disappointed.

The cave was small and apart from rocks, it was completely empty!

"All that effort for nothing, what a waste of time!"

Looking down at the corpse on the ground, a thought struck Ling Feng. He addressed Wang Cai, who was still hungrily devouring the beast, "Once you’ve had your fill, do some work for me. Peel that thing’s skin off. I can’t go back empty-handed!"

...

...

The next morning, Li Shiyun arrived at Ling Feng’s house, and upon entering, saw him squatting on the ground, supervising Wang Cai.

A massive white pelt lay on the floor as he drew lines on it, while Wang Cai tore at it with its teeth, a man and a wolf working together in perfect harmony.

Li Shiyun, finding the sight amusing, asked curiously, "What’s that?"

"Don’t even mention it. After all that trouble, this is all I got—a single pelt!" said Ling Feng with a wry smile.

"Animal fur? What are you doing with that?" Li Shiyun asked curiously as she squatted down and continued.

"My Short Dagger can cut through metal and jade, yet it’s so sharp it couldn’t pierce through this fur. So, I’m planning to make some vests out of it, as makeshift bulletproof vests!" Ling Feng chuckled.

Li Shiyun: "..."

"You’ve got quite the imagination, but why could Wang Cai’s teeth tear through it?" Li Shiyun asked.

"I’m not sure either, but its teeth are really powerful. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to cut this thing!" Ling Feng said.

As Ling Feng continued to cut the fur into several pieces, Li Shiyun couldn’t help but ask, "How about I help you? Do you even know how to sew?"

"No need. These aren’t meant to be worn on the outside, so a little roughness won’t matter. Just need to punch a few holes and stitch them together with some thread," Ling Feng smiled and said.

"Alright then, I’ll head to the construction site shortly."

Although the scene looked interesting, Li Shiyun didn’t have much time to keep watching—she still had to supervise the engineering project.

After staying for a while, she stood up and left.

Ling Feng focused on making the bulletproof vests, not even certain if the fur could actually stop bullets. But the fact that it could likely withstand sword and dagger attacks was already impressive enough.

Busy all morning, he managed to make eight odd-looking vests of various sizes. Even though they didn’t look very refined, as long as they worked, that was all that mattered.

Looking at these vests, Ling Feng felt a sense of accomplishment.

He patted Wang Cai on the head and said with a smile, "You worked hard today."

Wang Cai let out a woof and turned to head to the back.

Choosing one that fit his body size, Ling Feng put it on and felt like he was barely wearing anything at all. Looking down at himself, he thought, "If only I had a gun to test if it can really stop bullets!"

No sooner had he said that when the sound of a car horn came from outside. Ling Feng put on a coat and went out the door, only to see Lin Xue stepping out of the car, looking at him with a beaming smile!

"How come you’re here!"

Ling Feng was pleasantly surprised and quickly walked up to her and took her hand.

Lin Xue’s smile bloomed like a flower, and her face was especially rosy and lovely: "Surprised? Didn’t expect me to come back so soon, did you?"

"Yeah! So, you’ve decided to transfer over?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"I won’t tell you that yet! I’m here to give you something!"

With those words, Lin Xue turned around, pulled something out of the car, and handed it over: "Here you go!"

"The Shennong Hoe!"

Ling Feng’s eyes widened, he hadn’t expected her to bring this!

"After I reported to the higher-ups, the deputy chief also notified the head office, and they finally decided to return it to you," Lin Xue said.

Ling Feng was delighted, his lost item had been returned, and the matter seemed to be resolved.

But he was still puzzled, "They’re willing to give it back to me? They must not have figured out what it’s used for, right?"

"You couldn’t be more wrong. There are countless experts at the head office; they know very well how powerful it is. But since you’ve decided to join us, they couldn’t very well keep your property, could they?" Lin Xue said with a smile.

"That makes sense!"

Ling Feng nodded and then said, "Don’t just stand outside, come in. By the way, did you bring a gun?"

Lin Xue, pulled along by him into the house, looked baffled, "Why are you asking me that?"

"I have something good here, I want to test it with your gun!"

Once inside the room, he pointed to the pile of vests on the ground.

"What’s this? Sheepskin?"

Lin Xue was still puzzled and asked curiously.
