The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 231: Entered the Wrong Store
After changing into his newly bought clothes, Ling Feng walked out of the bedroom feeling incredibly fresh, causing both Mo Jiaolan and Chen Yuhe to perk up at the sight!
"How do I look? Handsome or not?" Ling Feng asked with a grin.
Chen Yuhe rolled her eyes, "Rustically handsome, rustically handsome!"
"What’s rustic about it?" Ling Feng asked helplessly.
"The haircut! Your hairstyle really doesn’t look good. Why not let Sister Lan give you a trim?" Chen Yuhe suggested.
Ling Feng was taken aback, "Sister Lan knows how to cut hair?"
"Don’t listen to Yuhe’s nonsense, where would I know how to!" Mo Jiaolan quickly interjected.
"Others might not know, but how could I be unaware of that? You studied it for a while in the past!"
Heard by Ling Feng and filled with curiosity, he looked at Mo Jiaolan, "Why did you learn that?"
She was clearly a rich girl. Why learn to cut hair for no reason? It couldn’t be that she wanted to run a barbershop, could it?
Put on the spot by Ling Feng’s question, Mo Jiaolan struggled to find an explanation, "When I was a child, I liked to create hairstyles for dolls, so I did some research."
"I see, it’s normal for girls to like this kind of thing!"
Ling Feng nodded, then continued, "But you better not cut my hair. If I end up with a girl’s hairstyle, that would be too embarrassing!"
Turning to look at Chen Yuhe, who wore a mischievous smile, he added, "You weren’t seriously thinking of that, were you?"
"Hehe!"
Chen Yuhe didn’t answer, just stuck out her tongue.
While the three of them were joking around, Mo Jiaolan’s phone suddenly rang. She looked at the screen and quickly answered, spoke a few words then hung up, "My old man has also arrived, he’s asking Yuhe and me to head over."
"Then you guys go ahead. We’ll meet up later; I need to find a place to get a haircut," Ling Feng said with a nod.
This had been the plan all along. As Luo Beihai was celebrating his birthday, the Mo Family patriarch would naturally come to congratulate him. He and people like Chen Gang had arrived in the provincial city the day before.
Mo Jiaolan nodded, "Tonight the Luo Family is hosting a banquet, and you’ll probably be invited too. Let’s go together then."
Ling Feng replied, "Sure!"
After escorting the sisters downstairs and watching them drive away, Ling Feng turned and walked along the street, looking for a barbershop.
He took Chen Yuhe’s comments seriously. Since the girl found his hairstyle unattractive, he was determined to get a better-looking one to please her eyes.
Even though it was his first time visiting the provincial city, Ling Feng didn’t feel any novelty; cities felt generally the same to him, with this place being only slightly bigger than a county city.
Soon, he noticed a hair salon by the roadside and walked straight in.
Inside, there was only a buxom beauty sitting there. She had no reaction to Ling Feng’s entrance, merely glancing up briefly before resuming her focus on her smartphone.
Finding it odd, Ling Feng inquired, "How much for a haircut?"
"We don’t do haircuts here, massages are two hundred," the buxom beauty replied.
Dressed in a low-cut outfit, she displayed an ample expanse of her snowy chest, which indeed caught the eye.
Realizing he had walked into the wrong place upon hearing her words, Ling Feng shook his head in resignation and turned to leave.
But just then, he heard a low sobbing sound coming from a room inside, causing his steps to halt abruptly.
After a moment’s hesitation, Ling Feng turned back around, "You just said, massage for two hundred, right?"
"Yes," the buxom beauty answered without looking up.
" Fine, then let’s go with the two hundred bucks one," Ling Feng said with a smile.
He had just finished speaking when the woman stood up: "Come with me to the back."
Ling Feng responded with a grunt and followed her towards the back, his attention completely focused on his ears, trying to pinpoint the source of the crying.
He had absolutely no interest in women involved in the flesh trade; he had pretended to want to patronize the business solely to find out who was crying.
The reason for his curiosity was mainly because Ling Feng had read news stories before about naive girls who were deceived and forced into prostitution, their lives irreversibly destroyed.
So, after hesitating at the door earlier, he decided to investigate, as he couldn’t stand by if someone was truly being forced into this.
After pushing open the rear door, a corridor lay ahead with three rooms beside each other, all with doors closed, hiding whether there were any occupants.
The crying he had heard earlier was now no longer audible, and it was unclear which room it had come from.
The buxom woman led Ling Feng to the room at the far end and flipped on the light with a snap, then proceeded to start undressing.
Ling Feng quickly asked, "Is it just you here?"
"What, not satisfied with me?" the woman asked emotionlessly.
"Uh, it’s not that, but naturally it would be better if there were more options," Ling Feng chuckled slyly.
The buxom woman, growing impatient, said: "You sure are fussy. There’s a newbie next door, but she’s pricey, a thousand bucks!"
"That expensive?" Ling Feng was astonished.
"Of course, the newbie hasn’t seen any clients yet, so naturally she’s expensive. Can you afford it?" the buxom woman asked, sizing him up.
Feeling underestimated, Ling Feng rolled his eyes and said, "You’re underestimating me; I can cough up that amount!"
"Fine, pay up first!"
The woman, without hesitation, stretched out her hand.
Ling Feng hadn’t expected this; the money first, without even seeing the person?
But he had a feeling something was amiss, suspecting that the so-called newbie might be the source of the crying.
So he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash, counted out ten notes, and handed them over.
A slight smile finally appeared on the buxom woman’s face as she turned to leave: "This girl’s got a fiery temper, but that’s just to men’s liking. If she resists, you can handle her however you like!"
Ling Feng’s eyebrows raised, thinking to himself, if she really is coerced into prostitution, he wouldn’t let the woman off easily today—even if she was a woman herself!
With that thought, he pushed open the door to the next room; it was somewhat dark inside, and all he could see was a figure curled up at the head of the bed, apparently trembling slightly.
After turning on the light, Ling Feng saw a girl wrapped in a bedsheet, her long hair covering her face, so he couldn’t make out her features.
Feeling awkward standing there, Ling Feng suddenly felt like he was just another customer, and it felt strange.
Clearing his throat, he said in a low voice: "Don’t be scared, I’m not a bad guy. Tell me what happened to you."
The girl didn’t answer, her head bowed, refusing to look up. Seeing this, Ling Feng took two steps forward and sat on the edge of the bed.
His movement startled the girl; she quickly shrank back into the corner, but there was nowhere further she could retreat to.
Seeing her like that, Ling Feng understood she must have been through a lot of fear, even violence, so he continued: "How did you end up here? If you don’t want to stay, I can take you away from this place!"
"Really?"
Upon hearing his words, the girl stiffened, then hesitantly asked.
Ling Feng nodded: "Of course it’s true. I’m sure you didn’t choose to do this, right?"
"I, I didn’t want to, but they forced me to repay debts..." the girl said softly.
Hearing this, Ling Feng narrowed his eyes: "Don’t worry, with me here, no one will dare to bully you!"
