The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 224: I’m Not Afraid, What Are You Afraid Of?
Ling Feng chuckled, "What a pity, he miscalculated!"
"The Luo Family’s power was always enormous, and I’ve never underestimated them. Despite having opposed them a few times, it was never recklessly. Luo Qianyang’s deliberate performance for me today was just a waste of effort!"
After saying that, Ling Feng looked at the three girls: "This guy is making things too complicated, creating twists and turns that just end up troubling himself!"
"That’s good, anyway, it’s never wrong to be cautious!" Li Shiyun said.
After a few more words, everyone returned inside the house. By that time, Li Yumei had finished cleaning up the dining table and had already gone to the back to sleep with the child, leaving only Li Fei’er inside.
Mo Jiaolan said to her as she entered, "Fei’er, I’m going back to the city soon. Since Ling Feng is going to the provincial city, why don’t you come with me?"
"No, I want to stay here!" Li Fei’er pouted, looking unhappy.
"What will you do about meals when I’m not at home?" Ling Feng asked with a touch of helplessness seeing her tantrum.
"I can eat with Sister Yu Mei and Sister Qian Qian, it’s not like I’ll starve, right?" Li Fei’er rolled her eyes.
Ling Feng thought about it and nodded, then he said to Mo Jiaolan, "Since she doesn’t want to go, let’s leave it at that!"
"Alright then."
Mo Jiaolan felt helpless as well, knowing the young girl wouldn’t yield to anyone once she threw a fit, which meant it was pointless to insist.
After sitting for a while longer, and with her mind on the evening’s business at the hotel, Mo Jiaolan stood up to leave Shiliu Village with Chen Yuhe.
Once the two of them had left, Li Shiyun also wanted to head back to the village committee office. Ling Feng reluctantly held her hand: "What’s the rush, do you still have documents to deal with?"
"That’s not it, it’s just that Fei’er keeps giving me strange looks, as if she’s full of hostility. It’s better not to stay and annoy people here," Li Shiyun said with a light laugh.
Her smile didn’t suggest anger, just a helpless acceptance of a child’s behavior.
Seeing this, Ling Feng extended his hand with a hint of apology, brushing away the stray hairs on her forehead: "Alright then, I’ll come to find you after she leaves."
Li Shiyun glanced at him, nodded slightly, and then turned to walk into the village.
Watching her graceful retreating figure, Ling Feng sighed and turned back towards his room.
Nothing else happened that afternoon. Li Fei’er wasn’t idle either, playing with Wang Cai and the two puppies in the backyard for most of the day until the sun set before she went back inside.
Ling Feng practiced the Dragon Soar Technique for a while, and when he heard her return, he opened his eyes to ask, "Are you hungry?"
"Yeah, Uncle, what are we having for dinner?" Li Fei’er asked as she washed her hands.
"I haven’t decided yet, what would you like to eat?" Ling Feng asked.
Li Fei’er had actually made up her mind earlier, but pretended to think for a moment before answering, "Hmm... I want barbecue, roasted rabbit, pheasant!"
Ling Feng was speechless: "You want to eat all that? Can you finish it?"
"Who says I can’t? I have a big appetite!" Li Fei’er patted her tummy.
"You’re asking for all that just for Wang Cai, aren’t you?" Ling Feng asked, half-smiling.
"Huh? How did you know?" Li Fei’er’s eyes widened in shock.
Ling Feng smiled, "Just a guess!"
After standing up and going to the door, he saw indeed Wang Cai squatting there, with the two puppies sitting neatly next to it, all wearing expressions of anticipation.
"Alright, considering we have two new members, and since Wang Cai has also distinguished himself, I’ll continue to roast meat for you all!" Ling Feng laughed upon seeing their looks.
Upon hearing this, Wang Cai immediately showed a face full of delight, pulling out three rabbits and two pheasants from behind, apparently all prepared earlier!
"You were ready, huh? Just wait, you’ll have something delicious to eat soon!"
Ling Feng laughed as he spoke, picked up the rabbits and headed to the back. He quickly skinned and washed them clean, then set them over the fire to roast.
Two little puppies with eyes like black beans watched the roasting meat and Ling Feng, squatting on the ground, obediently waiting. Ling Feng found them amusing and thought to himself, "I hope these two little guys won’t pick up any wolf-like traits from Wang Cai in the future, right?"
During the roasting, Li Fei’er was nowhere to be seen. Ling Feng called out a couple of times but got no response, wondering where the girl had run off to.
Once he finished roasting, he gave Wang Cai and the others two wild rabbits and a pheasant, then carried the rest back into the house.
"Fei’er, where did you go? If you don’t come out now, it’ll get cold, and then it won’t taste good!" Ling Feng yelled.
"Coming, coming!"
Li Fei’er, with her hair wet and clinging, ran out from the inner room. The moment she appeared, Ling Feng’s eyes went wide!
The girl was wearing a little vest on top, and a short skirt below—that wasn’t what mainly caught his attention. It was her long slender legs wrapped in white stockings!
Paired with the black leather shoes on her tiny feet, Ling Feng took one glance and felt a rush of blood to the nose, quickly covering it with his hand: "Damn!"
"Huh? What’s wrong, Uncle?"
Li Fei’er widened her eyes, asking with an innocent face.
Although her expression appeared so, Ling Feng caught a hint of slyness flashing in her eyes. He pointed at her resentfully with his finger, "Eat by yourself, I’m going to wash my face!"
This girl was clearly doing it on purpose—she had previously mentioned having stockings, and now that no one was at home, she dressed like this to make him embarrass himself!
He ran to the tap and washed his face vigorously a few times, which helped calm some of the surging blood.
Ling Feng took a few deep breaths and puzzled over it; logically, he shouldn’t be so easily agitated—he had seen and experienced it all, so why was he still so impulsive now?
After calming down for quite a while, he turned and went back inside the house, not daring to look at Li Fei’er’s legs under the table. He sat down and said, "Why are you, girl, dressed like this at night?"
By this time, Li Fei’er had already eaten until her mouth was greasy, chewing on a chicken leg, she mumbled, "I’ll wear whatever makes me happy. Does it look good?"
"Not good-looking, ugly as hell!" Ling Feng rolled his eyes.
"Hmph, then why did you get a nosebleed!" Li Fei’er also rolled her eyes imitating him.
Ling Feng was speechless; this cunning girl couldn’t be kept in the dark about anything!
"If you knew already, why did you still dress like this, isn’t that tempting me to commit a sin?" Ling Feng asked indignantly.
But to his words, Li Fei’er puffed out her small chest, "Then come on, I’m not afraid of you committing a sin!"
Ling Feng was at a loss for words, waving his hand dismissively: "Go away, go away, little kids don’t understand anything!"
When Li Fei’er heard that, she immediately became upset, hands on hips, "Call me a little kid again, see if I don’t fall out with you."
"Fall out? Fine, then don’t eat the wild rabbit I roasted!"
Ling Feng glared at her and got up to take the plate away.
Li Fei’er immediately changed her expression, looking pitiful as she clung to his arm, "Don’t take it, Uncle!"
That ’Uncle’ was laden with coquettish charm, melting Ling Feng’s heart and making it impossible for him to move.
Helplessly, he glared at her, "Then you need to behave, and stop dressing like this in the future!"
"I’ve never worn this in front of anyone else, I just wanted to dress up like this for you!" Li Fei’er said swinging around his arm.
Ling Feng’s heart swayed along, feeling a secret thrill.
But he quickly came to his senses, immediately saying, "Still no good, your uncle here is lacking in self-control these days, it could lead to trouble!"
Li Fei’er pouted, "Then let there be trouble, I’m not afraid, what are you scared of?"
